What's your Draw Weight?

My bow is currently set to 52.  I can probably go up to 60 without any issues but haven't felt the need.  I rather be able to pull back smooth and effortlessly than having to have a herky jerky motion.  Being quiet and stealthy to me is more important than any advantages gained from the extra draw weight.

IMO with the speeds of the new bows going with a heavier draw weight if you plan on just hunting wht tail or even blk bear isn't worth screwing up your shoulder or having a difficult time drawing should  "buck fever"  start to get the best of you...that happens to ppl more than one might think...or anyone admits...I'm shooting 49#'s and having clean pass through s at 38 yrds...

for 20 years I shot between 100# and 105#

now I shoot 73#, for some reason, it's easier for me to hold more weight steady, I just got tired of special ordering bows

What were you hunting during that time? Rhino... Elephant?

60 lbs. for me does the job. My recurve has a draw weight of 49#.

At 14 years old I shot bows @ 50 pounds. At 72 I shoot recurve, long, and compound @ 50 pounds never saw any reason to shoot any more poundage.Way back whe cement bags were 100 pounds I carried one on each sholder @ 18 years old.So it is not that I could not have shot a higher poundage bow.
