What are you using opening day SZ?

Although I hunt a rifle allowed zone I have no shots needing it.

I'll be toting my Winchester Apex muzzleloader/ Bushnell Firefly Elite 3x9/ 250 grain Shockwaves/100 grains of 777

 

and perhaps my 870 if the extractor claw is fixed on it by opener. No worries if not as I carried ML all  season last year anyhow. Shot a nice one  day of opener.

20 ga mossy 500 rifled with hornady SST superlite's.... Then it's the savage 30-06 , 3-9 bushnell with 160 gr fusions ... Out of the 4 public peices I hunt two parks are shotgun only ...

Probably my ABolt 25 WSSM with a weaver grand slam 3-10x. I have a plethora of deer rifles and I think this ones turn has come back in rotation...

I try to load my iron sites to 150 grain. Especially for my Koopenfarger 71

I started with 150 grain surplus. Then reloaded with 160 grain and 1 click up and the groups were within 2" at 100 yards with 8 shots. Of course I only shot 7 and reloaded????

In the woods I'll be using my old marlin 336 in 30-30, if I'm sitting by my field I'll have my remington 788 in .308. Both shot the Hornaday American whitetails very well. O and a straight 2.5 on the marlin and a 3x9 on the .308.

Bad weather, my synthetic stocked Sako 338 Fed with the Leupold VX-6 and 200 gr woodleighs.

 

Good weather, my new (to me) 1971 Winchester 94 30-30 with williams FP peep and 150 grain core-lockets.

 

Hun! just realized I'll be taking a synthetic stock but scope in bad weather and a wood stock but peep in good.  Something seems backwards???
