As I've never met most of you I consider you all friends. The people I have met from here are all good people. Let's get the wheels turning on a meet. Weekend type , ASP , Albany area etc ?! We all have a similar interest ... hunting. The stories , the food , awesome time If anyone has the ambition to put this in the works , go for it. Month of August works here. Chime in with your thoughts. Personally there are a lot of you I'd like to share stories and a beer with Biz said we could all crash his place . He's got a nice pool too In all seriousness, it would be a pretty cool scenario

I've met a few guys from this forum. All were great people! There are many more I'd like to share a story and a beer that I would like to meet. I'm in. May be able to set something up in the Capitol region. But could travel if need be too.

August is no good for me, but don't change for me.  its just that Summer time is kinda busy for me between doing hay here in ny, running back and forth to pa to do hay at home, fishing charters here and my construction business.......some times I even have time for family life.

There is a capital district in New York?   If you are cooking TF, I will find it.  You make some good eats.  Or Biz just buys dinner at one of the  high end places.

Best cheeseburger in NY - skewed brewery in Watertown.   Good enough that I have driven 2 hours both ways just to eat there several times. Good fried pickles too!

Lmao 4 hours of drive time for a cheeseburger? Taking the sissy truck with the mpg you get.... Thats a pricey burger. This must be an epic burger im intrigued. Ill have to check this out next time I'm out that way.

I could also look into getting us a pavilion in Thatcher Park overlooking Albany. On a clear day you can see three states. The pavilion will be nice for rain or shine. They have grills for cooking venison or anything else. Ball fields, hiking trails, nature center and best of all we can bring beer!

It's that good.  Local beef, local made cheese, home made pretzel bun!   Oh man, I might have to get back there soon.  It's a micro brewery to for those that enjoy beer.   Funny part is that it's in the mall.  Lol

Funny you mentioned that. I thought about that too like 15 mins after I posted. We rented a pavilion up there for my step sons bday a few years ago. We hike up there and take the kids to the playground there quite a bit during the summer

We've had many get togethers there over the years. Always a good time for everyone, kids too! Restrooms close by as well.

I'm 2.5 hrs from the Capital region and close to 3 hrs from Buffalo. I'm screwed either way :(

Feb 26th I may be at Sahlens Sports Center for a tournament. Anyone close? Maybe grab a beer?

I was thinking of Thatcher as well. The best time is after the leaves start to change, hard to beat that view anywhere in the state. IMO. Hard to beat that place for a day trip anytime of year though.

Haha- just saw this thread. I'll actually be in the Buffalo area in late May for a few days. I'll hit some of you guys up to meet for a beer.

I've been thinking the same thing. I've met a few from the Roch area and one from Buffalo. Myself I'd do a western NY, say mid point between Roch and Buff.

Bativa ?

Not sure how many would drive hours or do an overnight, let each region set up there own, some one wants to drive farther to attend another is free to do so.

my thought was sooner then August though, March or April are dead times for many .

I've had outstanding luck with the members here......met quite a few and have been impressed by all of them.

From the first meet up with Pygmy to the latest with kpkot (last week!) they all are good guys.  Skillet, Wildcats160, turkeyfeathers, Culvercreek hunt club, WNYBuckHunter, The_Real_TCIII, 2012_taco (neighbor) Larry302 and of course Dinsdale have all been guys I'd hang with any day.  I probably forgot a couple too.........

I don't know about hoofing it all the way to Albany but Rochester would be easy.  :)

BBQ in a State Park or overnight-er at same?

Sporting clays/cook out?

Talk to me Goose..................

That's a good idea for those who don't want to or can't drive long distances.
