Cabin Fever
Had a morning to remember. 25 to 30 different deer. Was tempted by a decent 8 pt, but passed. Had a giant 10 with trash at 35, but no shot. And bunches of flat heads outside the ground blind. Guess where my grandson will be next weekend? Best sit I've had in many years. Also had three huge gobblers at five yards to start the show after first light. Decided to let them all walk on the first morning. Will leave this spot clean for my grandson. Wow! Sounds like a great hunt! Fingers crossed for your grandson!!Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
Adkhunter1590
Neighbor stopped down to the mill to pick up feed for his animals. He doesn’t have much land of his own to hunt and was kinda down in the dumps about the lack of deer he’s been seeing over by him. So I told him go sit in one of my stands this weekend since I won’t be able to hunt. Pulled out the map and showed him where to park and where the stand is. He’s all sorts of happy now. Hoping this gives me some good karma to drop a nice buck Monday night!

Cabin Fever
Since nothing was moving this morning, I was hoping they would strap on the feedbag and pound some acorns for lunch, like the trail cams have shown they did all week. If they did, they might be having a feast at my other stand...Such a beautiful day. I can't believe I haven't seen a single deer all day!! Not sure I can stick it out until dark.Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
WNYBuckHunter
Back at the house. Awesome sit this morning. 6 different bucks and a crap ton of does. I’m wondering if I’ll regret passing the 8, but it’s way too early to worry about. Haley will be out with me tomorrow. Ever since my dad passed last year, she’s not sure if she can kill anything. I am going to take the first nice for that I can while she’s there with me to see how she reacts. I dont Want to see her give up hunting, but I’m not going to force her.

billey100
Hi there, I know I never post in fact my last post was 2014. However I watch this thread all day every day. This morning was my first sit this year. I really hunt for the meat and not the antlers. I have gotten skunked on bow for a few years without even getting a good opportunity to shoot and I don't have a lot of time to hunt. Anyway this guy stepped into my lane at 38 yards just quartering away a hair. I tucked it just behind his shoulder. Hit the other side and he took off, watched the arrow snap off while he ran. Listened to him crash a few a few times and then heard nothing. Gave it about an hour, followed a massive blood trail a out 100 yards and he was piled up. Not a giant but he is mine.

chrisw
I'm in for sit #3, it'd be nice to see a deer now.... Although I thought about just sitting in the back yard with a beer because it's so nice out. I'll let you know if I made the right decision in about 4 hours. ApexerER
First sit for me. Just got in the stand. Sitting in some oaks on top of a ridge. Hopefully the deer will be looking for some acorns. I don't sit here very often so we will see what happens

I just walked in from 8-straight-hours of sitting in the stand and never saw a deer, so I'm good and ready for a beer! You take the evening shift in the stand for me and we'll call it even!

Marion
This is sitting a mix of transition lines. Views from the stand. My views... I'm hoping for some Dumbos to feel safe and walk on by on their way to either woods. The one behind me or in front of meSent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
Robhuntandfish
Changed mind and am in 7J spot. Got pretty warm and this spot is good for an east wind and can get in stand in 5 minutes. At least until your bow rope get tangled and you drop your binos..... Didn't get to hunt this last year cause it was a cow field during season. Season before in 17 was first time here and shot a nice doe first night. Usually see deer here but tough to get in range. I moved this stand 10 yards closer so hoping that helps a little. Good luck everyone and congrats to those that have dragged one today Edited October 5, 2019 by Robhuntandfish

BigVal
As of now the wind will be good for my first sit of the season, and first sit at my new house in the morning. Lots of chores to do but I need a couple hour break.
