First solo trip on the river today. Between locks 9 and 10. One of my favorite stretches . Saw a mink up close but he scooted before I could get a pic. The launching and landing of the bassboat can be a pain by myself. But it went pretty good today. Oh yeah.....caught six smallmouth. The biggest about three and a half pounds.6 points

Started working full time when I was 13. After 50 years I'm done. As of today I am retired. More fishing, hunting, and trapping. Hope to be more active here and other forums also. I wonder if I should tell the Wife?5 points

I make this all the time. Very simple...just put a roast in the crock pot for 5-6 hours...pull it apart and mix in some bbq sauce (I like Sweet Baby Rays).5 points

He was a draft dodging piece of garbage. He was an incredible boxer I will give him that. I feel sympathy for his family he left behind however he was cowardly piece of garbage and for that I have no respect. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk2 points

Also recently put a roast in the crockpot over night. It was tied together with twine. I pulled the twine in the morning and the meat just fell off and thru the twine. So crazy tender. Also visited Sweet baby rays BBQ sauce. Believe I rubbed the roast with coffee pork rub first and added just a splash of water into crock pot2 points

That's awesome. We Planted two weeping willows last fall for my daughter that is 3 and my son who is now 11 months. My wifes favorite tree. I like how they look as well, and the growth rate is amazing. Some dirt bag buck rubbed on my sons tree last fall. Put some wire cages around them this spring. I hope to catch up to that buck this fall... payback sucks mr buck.2 points

From May 20 democrat & Chronicle Rifle hunting on way to permanent Livingston County bill clears Senate LEO ROTH @LEOROTH Since 2014, hunters in Livingston County have been able to use a rifle to hunt big game legally. But the law allowing the use of longer-range weapons to harvest whitetail deer and black bear was only temporary and is scheduled to expire on Oct. 1. The process of making the law permanent is now underway. New York Sen. Catharine Young, R-Olean, and Sen. Patrick Gallivan, RElma, have announced that legislation they sponsored to authorize use of rifles for big-game hunting permanently in Livingston County has passed the Senate. Young and Gallivan secured passage of the original legislation but as is customary where rifle hunting is newly allowed, it was only on a two-year trial. “Sportsmen are an invaluable booster to our economy and for many hunting is a way of life,” Young said in a statement. “Permanently allowing rifle hunting will continue to grow Livingston County’s economy and keep local rifle hunters from having to travel to neighboring counties to hunt.” Livingston followed Wyoming, Allegany, Steuben, Ontario and Genesee in enacting rifle legislation. Statewide, rifle hunting is permanently legal in 43 counties. For decades, safety concerns regarding the possible use of rifles in the Southern Tier and Finger Lakes Region were hotly debated. Projectiles from rifles travel much farther than shotgun slugs. However, studies have shown that hunters who use rifles tend to be highly safety conscious and more selective in taking a shot because of their gun’s range. The 2015-16 hunting season was among the safest on record. According to the Department of Environmental Conservation, there were 23 shooting incidents, third-lowest number since records started being kept in the mid-1950s. And for the first time, there were zero fatalities. “The temporary law allowing rifle hunting in Livingston County has been a success and it’s time to make the law permanent,” Gallivan said. “This is great news for the sportsmen and sportswomen of our region and the local businesses that support hunting.” The new Livingston County rifle bill is No. 7187. It has been delivered to the Assembly and referred to the environmental conservation committee.1 point

I'm a boxing fan. Inside the ring he was arguably "The Greatest". Outside the ring, I did not agree with most of his views. I can respect someone professionaly and at the same time think less of them personally.1 point

This thread has been bad for me. Got me drinking fancy beer from a fancy glass now. LOL Spent the morning looking at a house and a trailer. Will be putting a bid on the trailer. Spent the afternoon painting the g/f's parents guest room. Now just relaxing with a Long Trail Double Bag.1 point

Yup...He was a helluva boxer.... I'll leave it at that... There is nothing else good I can say about him...1 point

Although this will be of no use for you First-light....I like to can it and make it that way...more work on the front end, but easy on the back end as it just needs to be warmed up in a skillet with whatever bbq sauce that you like. Takes all of 5 minutes. +3 on the slaw....1 point

Pantius Droppus Blood orange hefewiezen , hop bomb, caramel apple cuvee is interesting , and Chocolate Cherry Bomb on nitro come to mind. Food pretty good too. DO NOT speed on the 219 though. The troopers live off the Canucks coming down to their summer places. Have fun And St Caberlicious sounds really good. Saw Premiere gourmet has it on tap so guessing they'll have it at EBC1 point

One of the best boxers of all time. He changed the face of the sport, I believe for the better. His political position(s) don't change what he did for boxing.1 point

He will always be one of the greatest if not the greatest in my eyes. Too bad some people cant even respect the fact that he died and have to post libel.1 point

terrain is certainly an issue nicky, I really liked the are around the platte river, big fields, good tree cover along the river, tons of pothole water with trees around them and most important some pretty friendly folks. should be headed back east about tuesday and hope to shack up in western nebraska tuesday night and put some more time in there and then decide if I am gonna swing north and hit south dakota on the way back to ny. so far have seen little sign of turkeys here in utah, some beautiful country here around the great salt lake and would love the challenge of hunting a small population in the mountains but the extra 500 miles is a stickler for me.... oh well ya only live once so might as well spend it chasing turkeys!1 point

BARRR!! When I walk the woods while turkey hunting I find myself purposely heading to stream beds and low wet spots, always hoping to see a bear track in the mud. All though I've seen tracks in the snow (once) in Ontario County and had one on the trail cam, I'll be thrilled to see a track. Not sure why, just one of those things to put in the vault of memories...............1 point

Good dude RIP. Got to wonder though is it the damn parkinsons or the traumatic brain injury from boxing. Wonder if they will research his brain like all the football players they have been.1 point

keep it mowed to <6 inches. This promotes more tender growth and less chance of weeds taking over.1 point

Headed to the local Firemens Field Days tonight to help support the fire district and lions club. Beer and clams, chicken bbq, kielbasa and kraut, pizza, burgers, dogs, the list goes on and on. Not sure what I'm going to have but a few cold Genny redeye drafts are in my very near future. Just waiting for daughter to get home from her class trip to Dorney Park and then we are walking down. Plus it's hot out so summer clothing season is here and I need eye candy to oggle. Pygmy, you wanna join me?1 point
