  6. This only lasted a minute last night from the observation stand. The sunsets here glow spectacular-iilly if you catch them at the right time! It literally painted the forest orange, and was pretty amazing to see! Unfortunately buck sightings were limited to two punks the entire night. Would have loved to have caught one in this light!

  9. Here's my Pop and Mom at their 70th wedding anniversary and second pic is him weeding part of his beloved garden. His garden is in Lancaster garden walk again this year. Spends 6 or so hours in it a day. He'll be 92 in August. He's stubborn but it's what keeps him going. Love you Pop. Happy Father's Day to all you dads.

  15. So my day so far........Dad and I were on the river by 8:00am. We were using live bait, bass chubs as we call them. On the very first drift dad got a snag and that is RARE for us. The current is so strong that by the time I got the motor fired up and up ahead of the snag a ton of line had played out. We got above it and I thought we'd get it. No big deal if we broke the line but heck, why not try and free it?? It turned into a royal cluster! All of a sudden the line is going under the boat, dad has the pole in his hand. The tip of the pole dives down under the transom and I quickly shut the motor down as I didn't want to get the line in the prop. Before I could cut the line, the tip and half the damned rod is pulled between the motor and transom. I reached around (NOT a "reach around" you pigs) and grabbed the line and the rod is in pieces! I'm not really sure WTH happened but it wasn't good. Oh by the way, that's the rod I made dad for Father's Day last year. I had a spare rig so I yanked the reel off that one and put dad's lefty on. He was back in the water quicker than it took to write this.......... We caught only two bass, one each before we pulled the plug. Here's dad's fish.................. Here's dad's busted rod.............. It'd be a nice pack rod for some back country hiker. Gotta run, more fun to come!

  24. I want to wish all the Dads and Granddads Happy Fathers Day. Heading out to visit my 87yr old dad. My dad was my hunting mentor, friend, partner, I wish he could still hunt. Every fall it seems like something is missing from the hunt, he waits everyday during the season to see what when on. After I visit Dad I'm off to spend the day on the Lake fishing and lunch at the camp a cookout with my kids. Later back to dads for Dinner with all. Have a great day all!

  27. Nice pics wooly! Wooly, you should sell some of your pics dude. You probably already know but as long as the pic is a certain size you can sell as a print on Deviant Art art. Don't let the name of the site fool you ( they have all sorts of art ), some great photographers and artists make a dime or two over there. Especially natural outdoor pics. Especially if you can use high end programs like Paint Shop Pro and Photoshop. A few good free ones are GIMP, and even Paint.Net. to enhance the image. Just putting it out there, why not make a buck or two to go with your lamps.

  36. While at an outdoor show a fee months back I won a salmon fishing trip on lake Ontario. I'm not a real big angler by any means and have never fished for salmon. Just trying to get an idea of what to expect. It will be an 8 hour trip out of Wilson marina next Saturday the 18th. Sent from my XT1060 using Tapatalk

  45. The 25-06 is a favorite of mine, back in the mid seventies I had a semi custom 25-06 made up using a Santa Barbara commercial Mauser action and a 26 inch Douglas premium air gaged sporter weight barrel to squeeze out all the velocity I could get out of that big case. I put this gun up not for Deer but for long range windy day chuck hunting. I always loaded bullets on the lighter end of the 25's scale, 75 gr and 90 gr bullets gave me the best accuracy and I can say some of the longest shots I ever made were with that 25-06. I never shot a Deer with mine but there is no question in my mind that with bullets in the 100 gr and up category the 25-06 would be one of the finest long range deer rifles out there. I always wanted to take my 25-06 on an out west Mule Deer Antelope hunt but never got around to making it happen. Sold off the old Mauser many years ago but have been seriously thinking about one of the 28 inch stainless barrels Thompson Center makes for their Encore rifles as I still have quite a few 25-06 bullets and brass laying around which gives me a pretty good excuse to get one. 46. Sounds like a lot of Big Government Nanny State Control, forced on the auto makers by legal coercion and fear of government sanctioned and subsidized lawsuits. I'll bet the NHTSA people are very involved in all of this. When your government wants total control of everything, there's more than one way to skin a cat. The best part is, we all get to cough up the money to pay for it. That's going to be a huge amount that will probably remove the ability to have a vehicle from the lower class in America, negating anything Henry Ford was able to accomplish with the Model T. Also, I can only imagine how safe and reliable these cars will be when a 2nd owner, in the lower middle class, buys one that's 10 years old with 200,000 miles on it. Cars today that are 10 years old don't even have power windows that work properly. You see a bright future with these vehicles. I don't look through those same rose colored glasses.
