  1. On 3/21 my wife gave birth to our 3rd son. On one hand, I'll have a lot of help dragging out deer. On the other I'll need to shoot several more to feed them... and probably buy some more land to hunt haha. Both momma and baby doing well.

  3. Made the annual run to South Georgia. Birds very quiet, moving in groups still. Knocked down a jake and a gobbler, could have doubled up on either the first couple days but didn't want to tag out early, none showed after the second day. Squeezed in a hog hunt while I was there.

  5. Found a nice dead head today in a swamp out in a no hunting area. Somebody probably saw this guy and couldn't resist, made a bad shot and was afraid to look for him. Shame, would've loved to have found his sheds or have him make the mile trip to my land and offer a shot. Double split mains and stickers all over, unfortionately it's old chalky and chewed. Prob been sitting out there 5 or 6 years. Must walked by there a dozen times over the years.

  7. I saved them all as far as I know and have all but two. One is on a mounted bird that is on permanent loan to the Gun Center and the other my dog ate. The rest I store in a box my grandfather built for my dad years ago. The box was intended to store his first scope ever bought. He would take the scope off after deer season so the A5 could see double or triple duty. Turkeyfeathers stopped over the other night and I had the box out. Here is a shot of the beards, lined up.

  17. Im seeing more and more push for this......i truely believe it is more wanting to brag about a huge rack then to see a buck have time to live and not die at a year old.....i have come to this conclusion by not seeing any of these people care if a doe is killed at a year old.....why just a buck and not a doe.....i say its just to have something to hold and brag.......greed is the end result....not meat or the excitement of hunting

  27. Most guys on gunbroker have been upfront about conditions of the gun. I try to send a few messages back and forth to get a feel for the seller. If they respond quickly, if they add some info besides just answering the question, or do they act like they are being bothered. If I get a bad vibe from the guy then I don't care how good the deal is I drop it. Only had it happen twice in 15 years after plenty of purchases Sent from my 9006W using Tapatalk

  29. I don't think it is so much directing my anger at illegal aliens as it is anger against those apologists who continue to pretend that there is no value to the sovereignty of our borders. When you call these people what they are (Illegal aliens), it avoids confusing them with all of the legal immigrants who have made an effort to come here respecting our laws and our country. I believe that ALL illegal aliens should be deported when located ...... No exceptions. And whatever means that are required to exclude them and force them to abide by the legal processes in order to set up residency here should be done ........ including the damn wall. Force them to become legal immigrants instead of illegal aliens.

  34. Surrounded by a bunch of tough guys !! Ha. It wasn't a call out at all fellas. Just stating the facts that a 60#er will be more than enough for whitetail. As far as elk and speed goats @80yrds.... I was stuck in the mindset of wny deer. Obviously the numbers improve as poundage goes up (typically) but that's like me telling you ( a 30-06 guy ) that shooting a 50bmg is better... At any rate,on of my main reasons to stay at 60# is not cause I'm a wuss it's for those long sits in freezing temps. Sometimes that 60# can feel like 80#. Also, bending and twisting in a tree, cramped in a blind or spot and stalk to bow range are all more reasons to have less poundage for a smoother and easier draw. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk

  38. I've bought and sold many firearms on Gunbroker.com. Ask lots of questions about things not mentioned in the listing and check the sellers feedback. Feedback will let you know if the guns he's sold prior were making his buyers happy or not.

  39. My collection goes back to 1975...I saved them all, but a few are missing due to the dog, rats, etc. Unfortunately, rather than storing them in a cool old wooden box, they are in a gallon Ziploc bag in the freezer of my beer/bait fridge out in the garage...

  41. I disagree, I know I look extra extra hard to make sure there aren't spikes if I no longer have a buck tag and am shooting a doe. On any given day even with a buck tag if I am shooting a doe I'm looking extra hard for antlers because I don't shoot small bucks but add in the no buck tag and I'm triple checking. So AR's would also add that third and fourth check to make sure it was in fact a doe. That being said I'm still not in favor of AR's, if safety is one of the concerns the best remedy would be to split the seasons and have an antlerless and an antlered season.

  42. The kid was shooting what he thought was a DOE. He would have had no reason to worry about point-count even with ARs in place because he had already decided that it had no points. When you are filling a doe tag, ARs have no bearing on whether you pull the trigger or not. Once you have decided it is a doe and you have the necessary permit AR is no longer a part of your decision to shoot. He would have shot this deer anyway with or without ARs. So no, ARs would not have changed the outcome.
