love the idea of the sportsman show weekend.  They put on a pretty good show and its about the off season for hunting or fishing for anything.

I ran this by the wife when she got home. I was given an ultimatum. We can go to this and I would have to give up our trip to ADK's so I can hunt. Sorry boys and girls, not giving up my hunting trip.

 

This will be the most epic GTG for this site so far if it pans out, and I hope it does. There are many people on here I would love to shake hands with and buy a beer. This GTG won't be that time.

 

I hope all who attend have the time of their life! And FFS! Someone make a damn YouTube channel and get some frigging video footage!

Im in depending on date im only an hour away.   Vernon national also does group discounts for sporting clays as well(atleast last summer they did) We had a blast there last summer for my friends bachleor party.  Just another idea if people are making a weekend trip out of it.

I go to the Turning Stone Casino quite a bit mostly for concerts and shows and also to eat, it is a fun place for sure. That being said for a whole forum meetup where members would want to meet get to know each other and I do not think it would be that great because the place is really not setup for that unless a conference hall was rented. The casino floor is crowded and just would not be suitable for a large gathering of folks to get together.

The Vernon National Shooting preserve may be a better suited for a hunting forum group and it is only a few minutes away from the casino for those that want to go there get a room and party there after the meetup.

Vernon National claims to be able to hold an event like a meet and greet, along with their gun store and the activities that are available would make for a pretty good time for a group such as this.
