South wind is great for birds coming back. Brother saw ginormous flock of swans today way way up.

Many flew over awhile ago as I sat in hot tub watching Longmire , and smoking a cigar .

No Red Wing Blackbirds yet, I did hear a Ruffled Grouse the other day and almost stepped on a Woodcock in the slash'ins yesterday. We got Ash Bore now, woodpeckers are working overtime on the Ash. Really a nice day yesterday after it stopped sleeting.

The grackles and red wings showed up here a couple of days ago too. We've had robins around all winter but the resident birds are just starting to return. Hearing those red winged black birds reminds me of trout fishing. I may need to find some worms and head to one of my favorite streams soon to try for wild browns.

Robin's have showed up in 8w as of yesterday afternoon.

About an hour ago I tried to get to my cabin. No snow all the way then I hit my road. Snow. Parked at the bottom and walked the mile up. The snow was just under my knees at my place. Checked that I t was still standing and walked down. 

Never buy a place on the north slope.

My favorite sign of spring!  Went to get something out of it and said wth let's get it out.  Earliest ever!   But have to get a new depth finder installed and to get it in early cause boat place will be swamped soon !  

Good to have my baby home!

Same here, first peepers this morning.

Been picking green grass for the chicken all week. Good source of protein. Deer are also grazing on the rye yesterday.
