141 2/8 plus 1 4/8 sticker off base = 142 6/8 gross.

I was 2” less but Jason is an official scorer so I defer.  Lol

I hunted yesterday and saw 7 deer in the morning. All the deer crossed the creek different paths and didnt come on the 10 yrd trail infront of me. One started to come, but for some reason she was a little nervous about coming on the trail that would have led her at 10 yards infront of me. I did see a nice 8pt cross the creek, but he didnt care about the grunts and snort wheezes I sent his direction.
In the afternoon I went to my grandparents property, but my neighbor tried to stop me from entering my property as we have a shared road. She even went as far to threaten to shoot me. She says she doesnt want anyone hunting down there (my grandparents property), but shes perfectly fine with telling her friend to tresspass on my proeprty to hunt. DEC is going to take care of her friend with a list of charges and the troopers are taking care of my neighbor. I let it go last year when they threatend to kill me, but enough is enough. I told the trooper to tell them to never speak to me again and he told me that was a very good idea and if they persist, I should take further legal actions. I left at the best time to hunt to head to the state troopers so I didnt see a deer in the afternoon
Amazing!

It's to protect the fur for transport. The effects can be damaging to the hide when it comes in direct contact with human hands. This makes the taxidermist job much easier. Duh

Oh is that so? Sounds made up to me. I personally prefer big printed out pieces of paper that say "Please Do Not Touch The Taxidermy" it's easier than making up some story about hand oils hurting things

In fairness I'd agree that deer I'm sure was a bit ripe. But a still warm deer the kind that are so fresh when you slice em open some of the muscle fibers are still twitching I stay fully clothed

Not gonna lie, listening to the wind HOWLING out there is not very motivating! I caution my son about the safety of hunting in high winds, because I've had close calls with overhead limbs and even trees fall around me before and you can't move very fast or far strapped into a tree with a harness! I suppose to help justify, I will be walking in along a standing corn field and my stand is right along the edge of the corn and woods.   I'm going in..............

3S - 36 degrees, 628am sunrise. 20-30mph winds from the west with gusts 45-50. I’ll likely only hunt till 10am or earlier if the wind gets annoying

That lasted all of 10 minutes. Winds are supposed to pick up through the morning so I found a spot on the ground..

I got up at 4:30 and it was roaring out. I hunt for enjoyment not to worry about dying lol. Now if I had a good ground setup I might. Bed won!

Saw the forecast and didn’t bother with alarm.  Hunting is supposed to be enjoyable. Not seeing deer , high winds and freezing my nuts off swaying in a tree is not fun. My head is more than a hat rack. Coffee , couch with wife and news with the dog with us

If I was seeing deer in my area I might stay in. Nothing moving here though except the trees. I've had enough. Tapping out.

Me too , for me high winds = not enjoyable . Although yesterday my front yard was covered in leaves ,  no grass visible , now it’s almost all grass !

By looking at the weather forecast , I’ll be out all week starting , perhaps tomorrow morning , but for sure the afternoon .

Catching up this morning and not surprised to see all the nice bucks taken Saturday, man was it a beautiful day in the woods and it'll go down as one of those baffling days for me on why I didn't see more action in the AM to the point that I packed up and planned to hunt Sunday AM. Saturday night of course was for the family and kind of a bummer as I knew the conditions were good... but then as we were wrapping up trick or treating and the wind was picking up and I was finishing off one too many beers looking at the full moon I knew I wasn't going out haha. Don't think I missed much and of course it's warming up as I get ready for vacation... ugh.

Congrats to all the hunters punching tags!

Crazy winds and sleet/snow. Tried a grunt call at 840 and this spike Nearly ran me over. Came
Front and circled behind me. Wind in his face and never spooked. I took a great video at 3yds. Here’s a screenshot.
