  2. Troll (Internet) From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia This article is about internet slang. For other uses, see Troll (disambiguation). In Internet slang, a troll (/ˈtroʊl/, /ˈtrɒl/) is a person who sows discord on the Internet by starting arguments or upsetting people,[1] by posting inflammatory,[2] extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community (such as a forum, chat room, or blog), either accidentally[3][4] or with the deliberate intent of provoking readers into an emotional response[5] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.[6] While this sense of the word troll and its associated verb trolling are associated with Internet discourse, media attention in recent years has made such labels subjective, with trolling also used to describe intentionally provocative actions and harassment outside of an online context. For example, mass media has used troll to describe "a person who defaces Internet tribute sites with the aim of causing grief to families."[7][8

  5. I have not had any deer like this visit before.Residential neighborhood so no hunting for a mile at least I am guessing. The larger bodied deer is an 8 pt. and the other buck is a 10 or 11 pt.He has 3 browtines but not sure how long.He even fertilized the lawn for me.Look closely you can see the red summer coat is almost changed over to the brown winter coat.

  6. I drove down to my traditional hunting grounds in CT yesterday and set out 4 cameras in preparation for bow season. 2 were the Covert Spec Ops cameras that Phade has posted about in this forum. They can send a picture to your phone and/or email. My phone buzzed with the 1st picture of a doe just as I was leaving the state on my way home. I received several other pictures on the way home and I wisely turned my phone to silent when I went to bed- I had 46 new pictures that were texted to me between midnight and 5 am! There appears to be a couple of nice bucks there- the only way to tell them apart is there brow tines it seems, which are pretty small on the one and the other only has 1. Fun stuff...

  9. I've never used a .17hmr, but I do use a .22mag during deer season as my area is shotgun only for deer. It would be worth a look into the new .17 Super Mag. My brother just got one and says it shoots phenomanally, devastating water jugs at 150+ yds.

  12. Too funny! Gotta give him credit for not just stealing the cam though!

  13. do they offer a rubber coated boot or something for the metal travel area? My drop away has replaceable rubber on the travel area and like a mole skin cover on the containment bar. Very quiet.

  14. Grow, some of the cams have some internal memory as well as the cards. If your does maybe the dopes didn't tun off the camera and their pictures are onthe internal memory. Wouldn't that be sweet. I am surprised they dind't just scarf the whole camera.

  15. I think the 3 second rule comes into play with something like this, if it's picked up and held by a human hand for more than 3 seconds before it's put back down it becomes bait........

  16. You'll constantly hear people tell you of how deer has been killed with a 22LR and it's certainly possible because as you know, shot placement is everything. I've never tried but if a 22LR can take down a deer, I'm certain a 17HMR can take down a coyote. For small calibers, you have to place the round perfectly. Larger calibers are more forgiving. So how good of a shot are you really. That's what you have to ask yourself. Are you willing to pass up an opportunity if you don't have a perfect shot? At under a 100 yards, no crosswind, open field with no obstructions, I'll take the shot with a 17HMR. At a 100 yards with heavy cross winds and the coyote facing me, bobbing his head up and down as he sniffs the ground, then the air, I would pass on him with my 17HMR. With my 308, I just aim at the chest and let her rip without a second thought. So a 17HMR can certainly kill a coyote with a 17HMR. The real question is can you kill a coyote with a 17HMR. That something only you know the answer to.

  17. The archery tag is a standard either sex tag. It actually also gets them a bear tag, believe or not. On top of that, you can also put in for the normal DMP lottery.
    1 point
  18. 100% True. I've been doing this with my boys since they were twelve. Buy an archery tag for them and they can apply for a normal DMP that can be used in any season.

  19. the junior hunting license gives him a regular season tag, same as an adult's only a lot cheaper...........purchasing the archery will give him the ability to apply for the dmp at age 12. Once he turns 14, that junior license can be used during regular season to hunt with a gun..

  22. last year i switched from my trusty well functioning biscuit to a drop away and couldn't be happier. less fletching damage and overal easier operation. I don't think you can really go wrong with either, just as long as your drop/fall away rest is tuned properly.

  23. Haha. You are wrong, that is 100% ILLEGAL! I hope you get caught. There are acorns in the woods by me, I can't go around and collect them all and make a pile, that's illegal. Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk 2

  24. Yeh, I stagger plantings on the oats, about 1 acre, now to the 10th, 3 plantings. The wheat will go in on the 5th, or there about, to assure enough top growth. It depends on the length of the growing season, your elevation, and moisture content of the soil.

  25. Stagger the planting. I surprised more people don't do this when they can. They go one weekend to work on the plot and then at the parcel again the next weekend to hang a stand, etc. It takes five minutes to seed a small-ish plot.

  26. I've got the same old prong-style TM Hunter that came with my bow. If that hadn't have come with the bow, I probably would still be using the old magnetic Terry rest that I had on my other bow for years. I look at some of these arrow rests today and they cost more than a lot of my top-of-the-line bows cost me entirely outfitted not all that many years ago. What the heck ..... people got more money than they know what to do with these days? looking at the archery catalogs it would appear as though they do.

  27. If you hunt there in October make sure you have the free land access permit with you because DEC does check. Also don't limit yourself to the Ridge area because once November comes the small game hunters will be in the woods with you. Look into hunting some of the suffolk county properties like Hubbards Park. Some really nice deer out there, less pressure and you don't have to check in. Good luck

  35. Yeah, I have seen a couple of programs on TV where some of these lowlife poachers get caught with the use o a robo-deer. It's actually kind of funny. What can these guys say when they are observed (and taped) laying their gun across the hood of the truck and blasting away? .... lol. Now there is a style of entrapment that I whole-heartedly applaud. The only thing is that you have to wonder how many deer these creeps took before they actually got caught.

  36. Well I had to disguise myself, can't let word get out that I love the city and especialy the best pizza ever. Speaking of Lobsta, we are leaving for Nova Scotia in the AM and they have McLobster on the menu up there..no joke. Lobster is so cheap up there they just about give it away! I'm loading up while we are there.
