I'm not one to regularly publicize my political views but I just read this comment on a Facebook post for Secure America made by someonelse. Its a very interesting read about the first woman to be nominated for president by a major political party..... After reading this is I hope people will rethink for whom they are voting this November. "Speaking of history lessons, try this on for size.I have just finished listening to Bill Clinton tell how wonderful that his wife, Hillary, has been for the Country over the past 35 years. All she has done and how efficient she has been. I’m reminded of how incapable Hillary was during the past many years. Here’s the “Rest of the story”: REMEMBER WHEN BILL CLINTON WAS PRESIDENT? We need to remind people of Hillary's track record. Especially those with short memories and those too young to remember. If you're over 35, you lived through it, so read it and recollect. When Bill Clinton was president, he allowed Hillary to assume authority over an attempt to health care reform. Even after threats and intimidation, she couldn't get a vote in a Democrat controlled US Congress. This fiasco cost the American taxpayers about $13 million for studies, promotion, and other efforts. Then, President Clinton gave Hillary authority over selecting a female attorney general. Her first two selections were Zoe Baird and Kimba Wood - both were forced to withdraw their names from consideration. Next, she chose Janet Reno - husband Bill described her selection as "my worst mistake." Some may not remember that Reno made the decision to gas David Koresh and the Branch Davidian religious sect in Waco, Texas resulting in dozens of deaths of women and children. Husband Bill allowed Hillary to make recommendations for the head of the Civil Rights Commission. Lani Guanier was her selection. When a little probing led to the discovery of Ms. Guanier's radical views, her name had to be withdrawn from consideration. Apparently a slow learner, husband Bill allowed Hillary to make some more recommendations. She chose former law partners Web Hubbel for the Justice Department, Vince Foster for the White House staff, and William Kennedy for the Treasury Department. Her selections went well: Hubbel went to prison, Foster (presumably) committed suicide, and Kennedy was forced to resign. Many younger voters will have no knowledge of "Travelgate." Hillary wanted to award unfettered travel contracts to Clinton friend Harry Thompson - and the White House Travel Office refused to comply. She managed to have them reported to the FBI and fired. This ruined their reputations, cost them their jobs, and caused a thirty-six month investigation. Only one employee, Billy Dale was charged with a crime, and that of the enormous crime of mixing personal and White House funds. A jury acquitted him of any crime in less than two hours. Still not convinced of her ineptness, Hillary was allowed to recommend a close Clinton friend, Craig Livingstone, for the position of Director of White House security. When Livingstone was investigated for the improper access of about 900 FBI files of Clinton enemies (Filegate) and the widespread use of drugs by White House staff, suddenly Hillary and the president denied even knowing Livingstone, and of course, denied knowledge of drug use in the White House. Following this debacle, the FBI closed its White House Liaison Office after more than thirty years of service to seven presidents. Next, when women started coming forward with allegations of sexual harassment and rape by Bill Clinton, Hillary was put in charge of the "bimbo eruption" and scandal defense. Some of her more notable decisions in the debacle were: She urged her husband not to settle the Paula Jones lawsuit. After the Starr investigation they settled with Ms. Jones. She refused to release the Whitewater documents, which led to the appointment of Ken Starr as Special Prosecutor. After $80 million dollars of taxpayer money was spent, Starr's investigation led to Monica Lewinsky, which led to Bill lying about and later admitting his affairs. Hillary's devious game plan resulted in Bill losing his license to practice law for 'lying under oath' to a grand jury and then his subsequent impeachment by the House of Representatives. Hillary avoided indictment for perjury and obstruction of justice during the Starr investigation by repeating, "I do not recall," "I have no recollection," and "I don't know" a total of 56 times while under oath. After leaving the White House, Hillary was forced to return an estimated $200,000 in White House furniture, china, and artwork that she had stolen. What a swell person - ready for another four or eight years of this low-life fool? Now we are exposed to the unsecure keeping and attempted destruction of beyond Top Secret emails while Hillary was US Secretary of State and the "pay to play" schemes of the Clinton Foundation. What "shoe will fall" next? But to her loyal fans: "What difference does it make?" Electing Hillary Clinton president would be like granting Satan absolution and giving him the keys to heaven!" Just thought to share with all you baseball fans and also because im a proud dad. Heres my 12 yr. Old son who was chosen based upon his ability and grades to attend a clinic with only 17 other kids throughout NY . Clinic was held at LIU, kids spent 4 hours being trained by Hideki Matsui "Godzilla". heres a couple pictures of my boy pitching to Hideki, he also hit off of Hideki, was also interviewed by a japanese new station, and at the end Hideki signed baseballs for the kids. Last picture is of my 8 yr old who i brought along to watch. They both play travel baseball and are both lefties, so proud of them both and a great experience for all.6 points

This may sound like a strange tale of coincidence to many of you, but the more I see it work..., the more I believe there may be something to it. By no means am I trying to invent a new "deer hunting tactic" or strategy, but when things get slow in the deer woods, this may come as a pleasant surprise, and I just love trying new things to exploit any deers weakness! I got two... maybe 3 short stories to add here to give this topic some credibility. Last season on November 5'th while tucked in a blind not seeing a damn thing all day, I got bored with the hunt and decided to change tactics and quarry just before sunset. Instead of breaking out my grunt tube, or rattlin' horns, or bleat can, for another set of "deer calls", I decided to switch things up a bit and try to coax a coyote or two to the set up. So, I got on my howler and let a series of yote calls rip. As you can imagine, my first thought when I broke the silence was that I was expecting to spook every deer in the vicinity of the area clear out of town as soon as they heard that hungry predator announcing his position. What happened next even came as a bit of a shock to me. I spotted a nervous deer emerging from the break where the goldenrod met the apple orchard. He was just a young yearling buck, but that was the most action I'd seen all day up until this point. I thought he was a doe until he got close enough for a better inspection. He made his way off towards the creek bottom never to be seen again until later in the season. Shot opportunity was well under 20 yards. Since I was already in "photo mode", I got on the howler again.... Once again, it only took a matter of minutes and another deer was making his way past me almost on the same trail but out around 35 yards. Some of you may remember the "fanged 6 pointer" with the canine teeth I found dead after season with the arrow sticking out of his guts. That was him, and that was when I got my only pics of him on the hoof. Same deal with him..... nervous and jerky, and constantly looking back over his shoulder until he finally disappeared out of site of the blind rather quickly into the creek bottom as well. Fast forward to last night July 28'th...I climb into the observation stand with camera (and 6pck) in hand and things are slow as can be. Not a deer in site and it's almost 8:30. I figured WTF- with light fading fast, I may as well try to call in a summer yote for a few last minute hail mary pics since I've been getting so many on the trail cam recently about this time of day. I pulled the e-caller (Flextone Torch) out of my pack and ran "cottontail distress" for a burst but got no response or action. Waited about 5 minutes and hit the "woodpecker distress" and still nuthin'... Five more minutes passed and I was about to call it a night.., but for chits and giggles I hit the howler button. Not ONE minute later, a bachelor group of 7 bucks (one out of frame) came barreling across the field towards me from over 300 hundred yards away. They eventually peeled off and cut over to a secluded field about 100 yards out before dropping out of sight. I never did see anything in pursuit of them out in the open, but I got a funny feeling I know what was going on there from one stand of timber to the next. Is it even remotely possible deer hunters could use a healthy yote population to their advantage when the going gets tough, and the deer just don't want to move on their own? I think it is! Deer don't just up and leave a property to a new unfamiliar area to encounter a new and unfamiliar pack of dogs, and they are certainly not in jeopardy of finding themselves on the endangered species list on these properties. Instead they use their keen escape and evasive (survival) maneuvers to keep them ahead of "the predators" as we've all come to know all too well! I truly believe all the deer mentioned above were forced into range by coyotes closing in on my calls. Don't believe me..... try it NOW from the edge of a property you CAN'T hunt if you know you have a good yote population in the area. You never know what will come running your way and what have you got to lose. Obviously like with any kind of calling, it's not gonna work EVERY time. But if it works that ONE time when nothing else is happening, well that's the only time that matters! I know it's now something I'll keep in my bag of tricks when things are slow. I think too many times we concentrate on vocalizations that draw deer into our set ups with mixed results, without thinking about what puts them there in the first place. One last quicky from last years successful January 9'th yote hunt. Once again, I climb in my stand and get on the howler. ..... and not 5 minutes later a doe a 2 fawns are standing broadside in front of me not 30 yds out checking out their back trail. They nervously make their way off, and within 10 minutes here comes Miss Yotie down the same trail they left on. There won't be any further stories with THAT bitch in it,lol Ahh hell...one more short coyote blurp as long as I'm on the topic from July 12'th of last summer.. I posted a series of pics from the observation stand last summer of a yote hunting fawns in the field when he jumped a buck by accident. That buck made his way right under my stand when the yote decided to call off a short chase. As luck would have it, that wasn't the last time I had an encounter with that exact same buck under one of my stands! I guess the point I'm trying to make with this post is that coyotes aren't ALWAYS bad to the deer hunter, and sometimes they can even be helpful if you can force yourself to think that way! If anyone else has some similar stories go ahead and post 'em up here. There's no better time like the off season to put all the pieces of the previous seasons puzzles together! ...and a few short months later that buck wasn't so lucky when he ran into the baddest azz predator to ever step foot on his turf.....ME,lol4 points

If the DEC was truly serious about cutting doe populations in those "trouble areas", are you people so naïve as to think they would relegate the effort to the season that uses the least efficient weapon? Why do you suppose that the regular gun season has been ignored in their grand scheme? Come on, do you really believe that they can leave deer population control to bowhunters only? It is an ignorant half-hearted plan that likely has more to do with cramming firearms into bow seasons than it does with having anything to do with deer numbers, and you people are buying right into it.4 points

Been driving around a few times a week recently just relaxing and looking for bucks. Went with a buddy yesterday and he took some roads I've never been on before. We weren't seeing much and then we saw this guy, bedded in grass 20 yds off the road. After yelling a string of obscenities, I popped a few pics before he bounced away without looking back. This is the nicest buck I have ever seen, especially so close. He's a 10 with split brow, good mass and nice tine length that will only keep growing. Saw another couple bucks after this but it was too dark to photograph at that point. I have a letter in the mail seeing if I can hunt this property. Fingers crossed but I'm sure the answer will be no. What's he score? I'm going to frame this one for sure.3 points

Hey - just purchased 25 acres in DC with a small cabin. Never hunted by gun (have hunted rats with dogs), but when in Rome. Probably looking to hunt grouse and small game initially as I work up the skill for deer. Have seen grouse, turkey, coyote and deer, as well as a fisher which was a thrill. Currently working with a forester to better the wildlife habitat.3 points

Grow, those units that have a 2 doe limit have excess tags that are never used.. you can get 2 extra and still have 2 tags for other units plus your either sex tag. Is a buck that important for you? My 1st deer as of late has always been a doe usually put on my muzzleloader /boe anterless tag.. leaving n my transferable doe tag in the same area for a guest.. remember when archery started Oct 15th.. take the first 2 weeks and shoot doe and help reduce the population. Where it needs it. Jelous of someone being able to shoot a buck in another area? Guess what they can't shoot one those 1st two weeks in a doe area either so the buck you've been watching is still there.perhaps earn a buck is better for you shoot a doe then kill a buck the same a free noon opening day.. I love your posts but I belive your over reacting to this doe only in areas that need reduction.3 points

If you would stop crying about being told to do what you should be doing in the first place you might go to dec web sight. they have a updTe that says the maps are tentative and that there are changes pending that would rescind the antlerless only requirement. The 2 week doe only rule was not black mail. They just made a 2 week doe season. Black mail would be the eab whwer they tell you shoot a doe ot you can not shoot a buck. Many bow hunters would be find with that they would just throw a tag away by saying they got a doe just so they could shoot a buck instead. Many a hunter get doe tags and never plan on useing them. You get a either sex tag plus 2 doe tags in oct. then 2 more doe tags in nov. so what is the problem? Take 2 doe and a buck in oct. then you get 2 tags on nov. 1 to use in nov.nwhy do you need 4 doe tags in oct to kill a doe. If more hunters were willing to kill doe with a bow then they would have never made a 2 week doe only rule.3 points

Grow I don't see undo pressure or threats. Different areas have different regs. I get a doe tag for a doe only area when I get my land owners for mine..no chance of a second tag here or where I hunt. I then post it or know someone that hunts that area and sign it over to them..no waiting till nov For extras. They take between 2 and 4 doe out of my moms backyard every year. I don't hunt there but they guys that do are more than happy to have the tag and take some meat.. 2 guys just shoot the doe and donate them.. both main hunters had to watch a large buck for 2 weeks ,my uncle moved his stand because he watched it for two weeks and got it 1st day of buck in that area. Honestly I know what kind of person you are and the fact you hunt for meat. I just don't get your reasoning behind it except you can't shoot a buck then ,but neither can anyone else in that area. I'm sure you can get tags signed over to you so you can use them Oct 1.. if not and it's implemented again this year.pm me and I'll get one for your area and sign it over to you.2 points

I haven't seen any bucks larger than a spike or small 4 point yet this year and was getting worried about the "local inventory". This was the first pic on last night's card pull. Happy to see him! I'm fairly sure that this is the same one I've been watching for the third year now. We have a bit of history. See you in the fall, big boy!. BTW, the pic was from 7/11, so he's still growing a bit since this pic.2 points

Haha, my daughter has one as well as the 522. I was on my way home from NC when I was in the service when my wife called and told me the ultra sound results that we were having a girl. I needed to pee and saw the gander sign so I swung in and they had them both sitting beside each other. Long story short I was a broke E3 with a kid on the way but got approved for my first and only credit card and I had 2 pink guns for my unborn daughter and another bill I didn't know how I was going to pay. That was nearly 10 years ago and she regularly shoots them both and it was all worth it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk2 points

Right from the horses mouth. There's a really good chance doe only goes away. Also refer to nyslowhands post. It had an effect but not enough to offset hunters dissatisfaction. earn a buck will also never happen anytime soon anywhere.DEC just couldn't beat the printing deadline. It was at the printers over a month ago. That said those reactions to this in here is a great example of why DEC should cross ther Ts and dot the I better.2 points

For 25 years my go to is my Ruger 77 ultralight, in .308 with a Leupold 1.5x5. It was bedded, with Timney Trigger and competition firing pin and spring. Despite the xtras, not the worlds most accurate with the light bbl, but it was dependable, and I knew what it would do. Several years ago it was placed in semi retirement for a mid 50s production Savage 99 in .308, which is my current standard. It is capable of better accuracy (much better), and simply feels perfect carrying. Despite that, this fall I am hoping to hunt primarily with a resurrected Krag Jorgenson. Just because.2 points

If people aren't convinced that they're being oppressed by someone, the socialist narrative doesn't work. This is why we see the onslaught of SJW activism. It's the life-blood of the leftist agenda, and they can't survive without it. It's the 'grievance' industry. Our current POTUS was considered a 'community organizer' in Chicago before entering DC politics. He was, and still is, in fact, a resentment organizer. He's spent the last 7 1/2 years making sure that the people of this country are in opposition to one another, and he's been very successful at it. The blatant lack of patriotism at the convention is entirely intentional. (I have chicken breasts on the grill, I'll be back)2 points

Remmington youth 870 for my petite little ballet daughter. Have shooting sticks for her to shoot off of. Currently set up for turkey with a Jellyhead tube but soon switching it out with an IC tube for slugs. She's only shot field loads thru it so far. While turkey hunting I stuff the good stuff. Going to get a Sims limb saver before she starts throwing slugs down range before youth deer season2 points

In my case the applied for Doe tags are taken in a different area than I live becasue my hunting camp is there. . I live in 8H and would take more does during bow if I had better access to the late draw tags earlier. I'll do more than my part if they find a way to give me the paper.1 point

Agreed the horn hunters are the first to hold there breath and stomp there feet. All over something they could have prevented. They cry see we told you it would not work. Well it didn't work because the children just didn't hunt. They thought they were proveing a point. Well they did they proved just what the dec was saying they wont shoot doe. Now dec will be forced to try another to lower doe numbers and the bow hunters will like that way even less.1 point

Several years ago a friend and I were hunting spring turkey . We were set up on a field edge near a brook my friend was calling about 75 yards from my position as I watched a coon stalk him and walk right up to him. My friend caught a little movement at about 3 feet away and he flinched, the coon turn tail and ran and my friend almost had a heart attack. Very funny! A coon will stalk a turkey I seen it first hand. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point
