I always try to get set up in stand about an hour before light to give the woods time to settle...just had a lone deer walking through about 15 yds from stand, obviously can't tell what it was because it's too dark to see still but now I hear him rubbing a tree, sounds like hes ripping it up too. Pretty cool  but wish he was about an hour later

No deer from the stand this weekend, but I did see a shooter 2x crossing the lane as I walked in. 11-12 in the am and he was cruising, that's a great sign. Now I have to get him to cooperate and walk close to me. I watched several blue jays picking up acorns and flying up into the trees to hide them for winter food, very interesting as they supposedly will remember where they stashed them! Going back to work, probably won't be back out till Saturday unless I feel sick?

Yep. I’ve seen both shoot and they are pretty good. As for shooting a doe and then a buck, I imagine any young hunter would take a shot at a buck, doe down or not. Both hunters are new to archery but not hunting deer. I’m ok with the decision. The buck was not recovered. I’m thinking it was not a good hit. 


I agree. Nothing wrong with punching 2 tags

TOOK MY 7 YEAR OLD OUT WITH ME SATURDAY AFTERNOON. WE HAD A BLAST. HE WAS SO EXCITED WHEN WE WOULD SEE A DEER. THEN THIS BUCK CAME OUT THAT I NORMALLY WOULD LET GO. THIS WAS DIFFERENT. THIS WAS ACTUALLY MY FIRST KILL WITH A BOW AND WITH MY 7 YEAR OLD THERE, IT WAS THE BEST HUNT I EVER HAD!!!!
