My good friend Jack Daniels talked me into hunting a new spot on the property I haven’t been to yet this year. He also talked me into changing it up and bringing the 30-.06 out for the first time ever hunting with a rifle.

I just barley made it though the water without getting wet so that’s a plus already. Now if the deer will cooperate with Jacks plan I’ll be a happy man.

Bought a couple of meat totes and big cutting board.  So much easier and cleaner to finalize the field to freezer.

Now a doe with a yearling just eased by real slow at 20yds. So far, much better than yesterday's all day sit without a single deer.

Went out this morning for about 1hour because I couldn’t sleep.  I did see a doe come down from the cut corn field , but at 80 yards moving fast through the woods. I did find a scrape that is still being worked. Good luck to those out there trying to get it done.

Food grade, sams club has a restaurant section with food grade bowls, knives, cutting stuff at very reasonable prices.

My Ithaca Deerslayer 2 in 20 gauge is down the creek bed in the tower with one of my newbies. I should just call it the harvester! That gun shoots great out to 120. Light, fast and what it hits it kills. Mine loves Lightfields. It’s killed a pile of deer.

I know there are a lot of newer slugs on the market, but I've used the Copper Solids since they first came out-always had great success with them.  Also used Lightfields when they first came out a bit.  I shoot the Coppers out of my 1100 with hastings barrel.

Yuck....rain and high winds all day. Good thing too as my “brother” from Colorado is in town and the whole family coming for a “Thanksgiving breakfast” before he continues to his sister’s in DC area.

Good day to recharge, after most of the day hunts on Fri and Sat- probably sit out most of the rain here in 3G. Very little action here the last few days.  Yesterday only a couple of does and a coyote...couldn't get him in with a lip squeak. Good luck to those that are out.

It’s fairly nice morning to hunt here. Very Light winds overcast 37. Not at all a bad morning. Just not a thing moving around my spot the last two,days. This is quite typical of my spot during gun.
