I'd have been a bit pissed if they searched my vehicle, after I was the one to call them there to report it. I got hassled once by an idiot DEC officer at the very place the OP said this incident occured. I didn't budge an inch and he finally backed off and left. They will certainly try to bully you if you don't know the laws in certain cases. Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk i'm no lawyer but I believe it just boils down to a guy who is hunting next to a dead deer and maybe he wasn't the guy who called, blah, blah, blah. I doubt you'd win against that.

TheHornHunter
What bullets were you using? Powerbelts?Pittman accumax 275s. I had everything taped up and have hunted with the gun many times in the rain and never had issues but it would be hell of a lot easier if it was a moisture issue and not something structural with the firing pin. Hopefully will get some time to pull it apart tonight and back out to the range tomorrow. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I had a mid 140s 9 pointer at 50 yards yesterday and thought I smoked it only to find no hair or blood. It’s been a long time since I’ve outright missed on a deer and was feeling pretty shitty about blowing the shot and not even getting a marginal hit. Anyways, took my gun out this morning to confirm it was on and it won’t fire. The indents on the primers look the same as ones that fired so not sure what the issue is. I can’t say that’s what caused the miss but pretty coincidental to miss that badly and then have the gun act out. I remember thinking it didn’t kick as bad as normal yesterday too so wondering if I got a light discharge or something… no gun pro by any means. Guess I’m stuck with my bow until I can get that figured out and to be honest the experience killed my motivation. Went from thinking I had a beautiful buck to now having to play gun smith Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk What ML are you shooting? It’s sold as a 45-70 but I had it converted to a .45 smokeless ML. Isn’t it cool how you can sit there sometimes and get all kinds of pics and videos of them but when you want to shoot they “know” you are there or something isn’t right and they are on edge. Makes for a great sit when you get to watch them like that

I had a rough season a few years ago and had some doe come through during mz and I swear they weren’t looking at me and all I did was turn my head slightly and slowly and they immediately did the “swift head raise” and I was pegged. And I’ve had seasons where I’ve shot at one missed and had them stick around for another. Made videos, moved around etc. it’s wild.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

DirtTime
I'm heading out around 8 and still hunt for a few hours. If the deer don't want to come to me then I'll chase them. I feel the rut!
turkeyfeathers
Work at 2 . Alarm went off and really tempted to say Fug it but headed in now. It’s more about being out here than desire to finally plug something. Good luck to everyone who’s going out.

One could chase many small game critters to fill the “Desire”in us. The pull is real.
