And this is different from the two teenagers who tortured a deer in PA a year or two ago.

I agree that the sentences were too light. They both needed to do some time. In addition the judge should have sentenced them to 250 hours of community service working with the State Wildlife Agency. I certainly hope their employer did the right thing and gave them both the boot.    valoroutdoors.com

Disturbing to say the least .  Punishment for animal cruelty is little to nothing in this case.  Sad really sad .

Maybe they will get a longer sentence when they torture/harm/kill a human.

It opens up a lot of questions of how we value animal life. Severe punishment for this type of animal cruelty would have far reaching ramifications for farming, hunting and pet ownership. It's a little damned-if-you-do, damned-if-you-don't.

That said, they should be keelhauled.

Back to back 2 cases in PA, I havent seen any such in NY and hope to never either

Man amazing, they shoulda paid much more than that. They should have much longer jail time to think about what they did. Hunters take a life but we aren’t heartless, this was heartless.
