Moho81
Myself and several others logged 6.5 miles on the last day of hunting doing drives. A few of them filled there boots with swamp water trying to get through the woods. Good thing we are lazy. I'd hate to actually have to do something.

ATbuckhunter
My group will do 10-12 miles when we drive the public lands on the island. A well orchestrated deer drive is a hard thing to do. Many ways they can go wrong, and it seems like more times than not, the deer do something you didn’t expectSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I think he may have been alluding to the guy that only goes out once or twice a year and it's a deer drive where he sits. This is the kind of guy that will get an eye roll for me, but I also understand to each his own. If deer camp is about drinking too much with your buddies and going out at 1:00 for a push or two, then that's cool. You're buying a tag and helping the cause. You're just in a different class of "hunter" than some, but that's ok. Edited December 22, 2021 by Belo

I don’t think it has anything to do with a class of hunter. That dude is an obvious jabroni. 90% of Hamilton county is public land. If someone chose to deal with him to hunt his tiny piece then they’re obviously too lazy to find a spot on public.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

RangerClay
We like to do deer drives in 7M. It's the way my dad hunted and now me. I find it to be a lot of fun and more exciting than just sitting in a tree.
Larry
I have not done or been on a deer drive in years. I see nothing wrong with them tough. When I was a kids, we would sit in the morning then drive in the afternoon. Us kids would drive and the adults would be the standers. It was fun, as for being the lazy that’s not true. It’s a lot harder to put on a drive then to sit in a stand all day. The land owner sets the rules on there property. If you’re invited onto someone’s land you better follow their rules weather you like them or not you have the option not to hunt there.

I think my hip, problems today can be traced to,our drives in the 90s . Sit till,9 drive till 3, then sit again . Thing Was the drives required walking miles often through plowed up muddy farm fields , pounds of mud on each boot ,and many times I’d stop to try and pull my foot free, which I’d feel in the hip, joint . Drives were way more fun then sitting in a tree , we knew where they’d run,the action was outstanding . My absolute favorite buck is a litlle 7 pt my 14 y/o daughter pushed out of ditch and I dropped on a full out run . 2

Drives to me is akin to pushing them with dogs. Not really a lot of skill involved in that game. A piece of property will be void of deer if pushed enough so sooner or later the deer will be exposed
