Had a good morning fishing with Wildcat Junkie this morning in the Salmon River, we caught quite a few rainbows and surprise brookie. Half the spots I fished in June are dry land right now! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk7 points

Here's a couple pics I took off my monitor with my phone.......sorry for the lousy quality. The bear that I'm thinking chewed on the cam...... IIRC I posted a picture of this buck a few weeks ago. I have a pile of videos of him...... I wish I could post the 20 second videos, they are impressive....6 points

I actually like these no color"negative" type pics...we have a lot of fox this year..which BTW fly's in the face of when you have many yotes there are few fox...because I know for a fact we have plenty of both.. Which must be saying something about our rodent .small game population...4 points

Why can't everyone just agree to disagree? Bow hunters want it all and they seem to get it most times, I mean no offense, as I love bow hunting. You wanted a longer season, you got it, and still complain, now, it's too long. You wanted the antler restriction revoked and it was. WTF? There's no making you happy! Seriously, there isn't. I enjoy deer hunting. Be it archery, slugs, or a rifle. I have 4 tags for this season. I will be happy to fill even one of them. Much less 4. All this dissension does is leave a huge gash in a hunting community that needs to start standing together. If you don't want to shoot does, then don't. But, don't blame it on DEC because they gave you a way to protest and feel validated. You paid for your tags, shoot what you want to shoot. Just stop thinking everyone has to agree with you.4 points

Bow just got here. It's lighter then I expected and pretty short axle-to-axle. Feels pretty comfortable. Have to get it in ASAP to get tuned up and set for me. Can't thank Jeremy enough for this.3 points

Yes, in a nutshell. I'm close to completely giving up. Old format was mirror image on phone to regular computer. Computer is relatively easy to navigate. Phone , not so much. Always have to press one thing or another to get somewhere on phone. Trying to find messages, threads I've posted in. I've had to resort to going to history on phone to find threads. I can no longer post pics as of the other night. I go to choose file and somehow pics are too large now. Tap talk is not for me either. I changed my settings to not receive emails upon new posts on threads I've post in simply because I give up and don't really care to deal with it. I'll be smoking banana peppers stuffed with chorizo , cheddar cheese , dash of dry rub and wrapped with bacon later and no pic for " what's on your smoker " , having a beer while doing so and then there's the what's for dinner thread. Sorry , no pics for either of those 3 threads . And now I can't even post a pic of Heidi Klum and Mila Kunis still in my bed upstairs while I make them breakfast3 points

Hey - just purchased 25 acres in DC with a small cabin. Never hunted by gun (have hunted rats with dogs), but when in Rome. Probably looking to hunt grouse and small game initially as I work up the skill for deer. Have seen grouse, turkey, coyote and deer, as well as a fisher which was a thrill. Currently working with a forester to better the wildlife habitat.2 points

A good gutting and overhaul done...It is not only disturbing but makes me embarrassed to be an American. It shows just how weak our political system is. SHAME,SHAME,SHAME on you! Didn't get your way and your reaction isn't to embrace what the constituents want and help guide and nurture your ,people, choosen candidate. No instead you have tried every trick in the book to discredit him. This has got to be the all time biggest display of a temper tantrum I have ever seen. This at a time when the opposition is Hillary Clinton of all people...WTH is wrong with you idiots?2 points

Hillary has proven to be a threat to national security. Why aren't the turncoats bashing her instead? Maybe they fear what will happen to their security when Trump is elected? I think they have too many skeletons in their closet and too much to lose when Trump is elected. That's why they protest too much. If you don't support the person your party's people have chosen, you should quit the party and join the ones you support. These were all RINO's to begin with anyway.2 points

Buckwheat is a good organic matter builder in the soil but it needs to be plowed under while it's still green. Deer will eat it but it's not a preferred deer choice. Turkeys will eat the seed heads. I would plant winter rye or winter wheat this time of year so deer will have something to eat in the fall even after the first frost...than plow it under in the spring, which will also build organic matter in the soil. just my opinion.2 points

There are 10s of thousands of gun laws already on the books in this country. You need to put some backbone into the laws we already have. If you commit a crime with a gun you get a sentence that makes you or no one else ever want it. You also need to make prison a hell of a lot worse place to go. Prisoners have benefits and services better than a lot of non incarcerated Americans.2 points

You'll like it ,It was a good shooting bow and its quick too , one thing I noticed with that bow is that it was really easy for the string to grab your sleeve so make sure you shoot with your hunting clothes on before the season starts.2 points

couple counter points BK, I understand your points, however first and foremost this is America and if the cops don't like their jobs they can quit, just like the guy at burger flippers R US, if they think it's that bad turn in your notice, world needs plenty of bartenders right? another is the police are not judge and jury, so pounding a Suspected Criminal into the ground or shooting them Prior to be being judged and Convicted of the alleged crime is Fascism, not police work. we have due process in America, for now, and that protects you and I from being randomly yanked out of our truck or house and beat to death, or jailed without being accused of a crime, or tried without a jury of our peers. we are a nation of laws. Innocent until Proven guilty, not Guilty because some civil servant who got D's in high school suspects in his heart that you broke a law, likely a law he or she does not fully understand but saw on TV so many times that they are sure it must be illegal. further it is the state's or feds burden to prove guilt not your burden to prove your innocence. I suspect the civil servants often forget the Servant term pretty much describes the relationship they are expected to have within society. Disarm the police, take them out from behind their bullet proof glass and vests, and you'll find a much more Civil, civil servant. maybe not.2 points

Trump realizes party politics has been a bought n paid for joke for some time. He has no party loyalty which is good.Just what the country needs. The Reps n Dems have shown themselves contemptuous of democracy and both need to die after this current cycle is complete. Time for some new voices2 points

It is a lot of work to revamp and upgrade and maintain this site. It is a useful tool for a lot of us so we should be mindful of that. That said, I still struggle with some of the changes and prefer the prior format. My user experience has been downgraded since the new format. Some of it I am sure is because options/modifications are not located in the same places. I can't reasonably see my content - to see if replies have been made to my posts or in that thread. I don't subscribe because I don't want a pile of notifications. Ah well, bigger things in life to worry about, right?2 points

As someone that hunts ALL seasons, Id like to see the following: -Full crossbow inclusion -Early antlerless ML season in September with a 2 week break before bow starts (only for WMUs with overpopulation problems) -Mandatory tag reporting of all tags, used or unused -1 buck rule -Unlimited doe tags in the WMUs with overpopulation issues to the hunters that use them (to get more than the initial 2 DMPs, you would provide some type of proof that you filled them before they give you more tags)2 points

Ive taken a few deer from there already along with a bear, just try to enhance the property each year by doing little or big things to better my experience and support the wildlife. I get alot of satisfaction from working the land. I have to say being high on a mountain and being 16 feet up in a ladder stand, the views are breath taking. Youll have to take my word for it, its an awesome view even if you dont see deer. Haha, good one.2 points

I don't think this would help as even during late mz season hunter numbers are small bc of the weather....if you want to cut numbers you need to appeal to the most amt of hunters early season hunting when warmer weather is here is the answer...or full inclusion bc more people will hunt in 60 degrees than 10 and a foot of snow. It's about numbers....more hunters more killed Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk2 points

nice photo, yeah, its close by , its about 100 miles due west of us, little north of West Yellowstone, once the tourists leave we'll be over there a lot more, this time of year a 2 hour ride turns into 4 hrs real quick. there's smallmouth over that side of the divide that's why we go, that and to shoot wolves and test bear proof gear on the grizzlies. if he likes to trout fish he's come to the right place! tell him if he gets over to pahaska look us up we'll grab a cold one and fish some up on sylvan before it freezes up.1 point

I never said it wasnt effective, I said its not the MOST effective. Thats the point you are missing out on. Im not saying cut gun season down, Im saying that if any weapon's primary season should be used specifically to knock down the doe numbers in an area, that it should be the MOST effective one, not the least effective one. The simple fact is, guns are far more effective at killing numbers of deer than bows are. The timing of when you kill does is not important when it comes to population control, so who cares when I shoot my does. Heres the other fact you are missing, the vast majority of bow hunters gun hunt as well. I know of very few that stick to bow only and only hunt for bucks. Id have to say that I know more gun only hunters that only hunt for bucks than bow only hunters that hunt only for bucks. Your "Trophy Hunter" stigma that you attach to bow hunters is kind of silly really.1 point

Are you looking to shoot a bear this year ? And had to chuckle at them snacking on your cams I'm going to buy another cam to total a whole 2 and set up soon. Maybe I'll catch one on cam some day as even when I go to the zoo they're sleeping inside and I still don't see them in person let alone the woods.1 point

Either way you go, another food plot or just let the grass grow it's a great view the small tree line looks like a prime spot for deer to use as cover to go back and forth.1 point

If you shoot her in September or October she isn't there to get bred and carry those. 1-3 fawns. Having a preference one way or another is fine but that logic won't hold.1 point

Anyone else getting much bear action on camera? I just pulled a card last night and found a momma and cub on my cam! The cam was actually almost torn off the tree too...my cable lock kept it on there but pics make it look like the cub tore up the strap and was messing around with it. Here's a few pics I thought were cool! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point
