I didn't carry the camera as much as I wanted to this past fall, but I did get a few new shots. Figured I'd post up some color since we're stuck in this white and brown pattern for a few months yet.3 points

Back in the day, I used to drag 'em out for the old guys. Now I IS the old guys..If I am hunting alone and can't the machine close to 'em, I don't shoot 'em.. One exception is the place I hunt in PA...It's downhill all the way to the truck.3 points

FYI, No need to sign up for a Cabelas credit card. There is a NRA booth/counter with a local rep. set up just inside the door to sign up for the NRA. You can walk in sign up & leave if you want.3 points

The altitude sickness can be punishing. Machu Picchu isn't that bad because it's only 6K feet. Cusco is where you'll most likely be staying (closest big city to Machu Picchu) is the problem. It's over 11K feet. Kicked my butt. Guinea Pig taste fine. Sort of like squirrel. It's the skin I don't like. A bit slimy. If you're not into it and just want to sort of "dip your toes" into it, have it chicharron style. That's when they chop it up into cubes, batter it then deep fry it. You won't know it's guniea pig at that point. When in Peru, make sure you get a chance to go to Puno and visit the Uro people on Lake Titicaca. It's an entire village that floats in the lake. It's equally if not more impressive than Machu Picchu. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk3 points

Went 0 for 3 on cottontails this morning. I never got a shot but the other guys missed. Best part was the dog got on his first rabbit. He was whining while on the track and then he started yipping and then that awesome beagle howl. He is getting better each time we go out.2 points

I haven't seen the story, but why not? A good friend from high school grabbed a backpack and a cheap bicycle in 1977 and headed out to see a girl in Minnesota. The girl thing didn't work out for him but he ended up spending 20 years circling the globe three times on a bicycle. He doesn't regret any of it.1 point

I've also been the mule MANY times for the older guys and now I'm getting long in the tooth too. I'll grab the 'wheeler anytime I can or even drive right up to them as often as possible. This past archery season I did something I've never done: called in TWO guys to help drag the beast. 205lbs of good times..................1 point

Thanks. That's 75% of the spread. We ran out of room on the table. Chinese New Years is basically our Thanksgiving and Christmas rolled into one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

My buddy and I got two hoppers yesterday, I was 1 for 2 and he was 1 for 1.. Started the first rabbit about ten minutes after we began hunting and the hounds ran steady for 4 hours. We killed two, missed one and the other one holed up. One rabbit led a charmed life..The dogs started him and he got by my buddy without offering a shot..He ran by me right in the open, but I was busy cleaning another rabbit and my shotgun was leaned up against a tree ten feet away. He circled again and I saw him but could not get a shot. He circled again and I missed him with both barrels of my 20 gauge. He circled again and I had a clear look at him, but he was right in line with the road so I could not shoot. Never did get the SOB...<<grin>>.. Both rabbits we killed were nice big, healthy looking bunnies and were larded with fat..Never saw so much fat on a rabbit in February...Must be the mild winter.1 point

We have a neighbor that has two in his front yard...they produce like mad every year, I know they are at least 20 yrs old.....but I'm not sure if they are native...in Avon we had two natives and man did they produce a ton of chestnuts every year...I missed those trees. Which is why I planted the Chinese ones here years ago... I am planting for my age...as I get older there will be less I want or can do...so I'm planning on self sufficient plots. Ones with good soil and tilth for good legumes and grasses under maturing hard and soft mast trees and bushes...... The plot in the picture is on the edge of the red oaks that are producing...that area alone has 12 producing oak out of the 200 on the property.1 point

Another big plus W/the Savage is that you can swap barrels with nothing more than a barrel nut wrench & a head-space gauge. You could swap any standard length .473" head cartridge. .270, .280. 25-06 35 Whelen, 8X57, 7X57, etc.right in your garage or basement if you have a vice mounted on a bench..1 point

I want to buy a big boat & live on it. Like a 34 - 40ft trawler. With a bunch of teak finish inside, a fly bridge, & full head & kitchen. Edit: I almost forgot the most important part. I want a Pitbull to live there with me. A rescue dog, not from a breeder. The 2nd most important part is that there'd be no women allowed. None. Zero. Not even once.1 point

Yea put a Lil angle toward the ground with a lip on the front edge to hold calls from sliding off so can actually view the whole call and even the board underneath Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk1 point

it been more then 4 years of unintended consequences... unless you shot one or was shot at by one while serving... no one knew what an AR or AK was until the Clinton administration started trying to limit or ban them.. now they are a huge chunk of the industry... tell people they can't have something and they will do whatever possible to get it! Ok more realistically I'd like to curb my fear of water and learn how to swim Not even a fan of shower hitting me in the face. Never learned . Own a 14' Mad River canoe which I'd enjoy more without the fear of rolling it. Just glad daughter and wife are great swimmers1 point

I am with Grow on this one. I like to be surprised by seeing or experiencing something new or exciting that I wasn't expecting. Pretty boring answer, but I am mostly content with how my life has worked out. For as little money that I had most of my life, I have had tons of excitement, adventures, troubles, and best of all, met a lot of people.1 point

What the hell is that monster in the background in pictures 2 and 3? It looks like he has a Christmas tree on his head. Maybe you had better start planning on that critter for next year. Maybe get some stand locations picked out. That deer should not go ignored.1 point

If anyone has or knows of someone who would like to sell their gun, I've been looking for one but would rather buy a local one and see it in person rather than over an online auction. Email or PM me what you have, please include condition, year (or Serial #), and price. Pictures are a plus too. Thanks. [email protected]1 point

Well I wasn't overly confident with the high winds this afternoon. I had only seen a small buck and was getting pretty bored. Then I hear noise behind me to the right. I quickly see he's a shooter, grab my bow and stand up. At this point he's maybe 12yrds from the stand. He hears the stand make alittle noise when I stand up, he looks around for a second and takes a couple steps and I grunt to stop him and get it fly. He went maybe 70yrds.1 point
