  3. Good luck to all the Jr hunters. If I had the skill, I’d write up the story of my son’s 2nd year of the Youth Hunt. The short version is.....Letchworth State Park, 15 adult gobblers inside 40 yards and four (yes 4) adult gobblers missed in two days, each shot was inside of 30 yards and all birds ran or flew like he was shooting spitballs. I can promise you that Dick Kirby never had two days like that in New York State......amazing I survived the drama.

  4. And his Democratic Law Makers: Experts blame taxes, business climate for continued NYS population losses Charles and Jane McLellan moved to the Rochester area in 1964. They say a job at Kodak prompted the move. Since then, they've called the area home. But as of next month, their new home will be North Carolina. "We’re not moving because of the weather. We’re used to the weather," said Charles McLellan. "We been up here for 55 years. Regardless of what the governor says, we’re not moving because of snow." Kent Gardner, the chief economist at the Center for Governmental Research says the population decline in New York and other parts of the northeast is part of an ongoing trend. "Part of it is taxes, part of it is just the vitality of industries we have," said Gardner. "The property tax bite here in New York State is pretty significant." Gardner says the trend of people fleeing New York State over taxes and/or a better business climate has been going on for about two decades. https://13wham.com/news/local/experts-blame-taxes-business-climate-for-continued-nys-population-losses

  18. Just a pale ale to start the evening. I don’t want to fill up or get to buzzed before the night even starts. Industrial Arts Brewing company. Tools of the trade extra pale ale. It’s pretty good, hint of citrus with a little bite at the finish. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

But there not famous as Notre Dame this is one I took some pictures of , near milan just drove around and happend to run into it at random . This one was build in 963 And the interior as you see it now was refinished in 1500s

  25. There are quite a few hunters who think that. I am surprised that so many have so little understanding of basic biology. The real test is what do non-hunters, wives, girlfriends etc think about the meat, as far as how it compares to beef, etc. Do you think that venison, a red meat, is not subject to rigor mortis ? Why is beef aged before freezing ? The rule is, the older the animal, the longer it should be aged. Give it a try sometime, if you are able. Those who eat the venison I process and age never know it is not beef they are eating, unless they are told about it. 5 days is probably ok for 1.5 year old deer, but the older ones really benefit from a little more time. Notice all those who claim to like to shoot 1.5 year olds because "they are better eating". That makes sense if they don't age or only age a few days. As I stated earlier, I can not detect any difference in flavor or texture between 1.5 year olds and 3.5 year olds, bucks or does, providing the carcasses were aged appropriately. Rigor mortis peaks about 8 hours after death. A buddy once cleanly killed a 1.5 year old buck on our farm in the morning, processed it that afternoon, and froze it almost exactly 8 hours after it died. He said that was the toughest deer he ever ate. Here is an easy way to tell if a carcass is properly aged: Feel the meat when it is fresh killed. That is how it should feel again, when the rigor mortis has broken down, after proper aging. If it feels like a pencil eraser, then it is going to be tough. Even the burger is tough on an improperly aged deer.

  32. I'm sleeping in... No youth to mentor this yr. First time in 12 years I'm not going out. I've made a bunch of call to friends, friends of friends and even some I don't consider friends. I'll probably wake up at 4am and lie awake thinking of past youth hunts. Good luck to those that go out. Keep the figure 8's tight.

  35. And chances are we would have found a way to get at least one one of DeGromm or Verlander. Instead we have Cashman trying to prove he is the smartest weenie with a stats book and Aaron Clueless Boone watching pitchers get rocked in the first inning of do or die playoff games. Sorry, I lied. I still had a rant in me. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
