  7. Figured I’d start a new string as I’m prepping for the season 46 days away! I’ve had great success with mock scrapes and licking branches tied up in the past. I’m a big fan. Anyhow I have a primary scrape under an Apple tree 35 yards from the tower. The branch broke off a few years ago and every year I go find a new live branch and secure it up. I saw a fake licking branch kit online and I figured I’d give it a whirl. You still use 12”-16” fresh piece on the end. I think it will work well. We will see. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  11. Im thankful that we moved her into hospice at assisted living. After that it was ok to visit and sleep over. I doubled up with my sister and did every other day. For the last three weeks I had such a great time with her. Many other families lost their loved ones in the hospital never seeing them . I was lucky. You guys would of loved her.

  20. Started a second box blind. Last one was 4 x 6, this one is going to be 6 x 6. And I'm making the windows a little smaller. This will hold 2 hunters very comfortably.

  22. Lol. Considering I haven’t been to either property since April, I am not sure either of us can find the stands. This may be a less productive season but some things are more important.

  23. Really great day on the water (Skaneatelas Lake) with@Pygmy and his friend TwoBuckBob. (Not a forum member, so not an official GTG) We kept at least 2 dozen perch and caught that many smallmouth bass. 4 or 5 of the bass were 17"+ close to 3.5 or 4 pounds. This was my 3rd time fishing with Pygmy, not only is he a true gentleman, but he is funny as hell, and a great fisherman too! Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

  25. It will seem the same . Turkey got slammed this year because people couldn't work and had free time to hunt.

  28. 3/4 the experience is being away from your parents and shacking up with your team. I know it’s hard with the Rona but that is truly the experience. Player and coach only sections, trading team pin, epic wiffle ball tour ya with kids from around the world....none of that happens at the lake house. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  31. I know meat touching during smoking is blasphemy... but I bought 3 racks when I thought it was 2. I’ll rotate them throughout the process, they’re not stacked, just overlapped. Good bews to the additional neighbors who scored a dinner invite.

  33. So despite the personal stuff going on, and COVID, I decided to finish part of our basement over the last month. We have a 3 bedroom and 2.5 bath ranch. With 2 kids, that meant one would be evicted whenever we had guests. We decided to add a bedroom and based on the layout, it just made sense to add a small home theater. So in my “free” time a buddy of mine from Puerto Rick and I built it out. He did most drywall work. I did the rough and finish carpentry and electrical. We both painted. I should have taken pre work photos but didn’t. Bedroom is approx 20x10 and small theater of 11x15 plus stairs. I strategically placed door in theater so that I still have a 20yd archery range. Hopefully no bad fliers. Still a little touch up and trim work to complete. Carpet next. That is being done by a pro.

  34. Wow! Looks really nice down there, you guys did a great job! And Kiki is the queen of the landing! She is such a good girl. Give her a scratch for me. What size TV are you putting in the entertainment room? If I send you my sleeping bag, just stash it out of the way. I'll even room with treeguy, as long as he doesn't come within one foot of me! As I've been watching all of Bill's videos! Have fun with the deck! Did mine over this past May. Zach helped with most of the scraping and cleaning. That was the hardest part.

  35. So as far as I know were renting a large lake house with a pool with a couple other parents. I’m hoping with covid they don’t have they stay there and he can hand at the lake house and swim! Man 1996, must have been fun! I’ve been to c town but not to Dreams park. I’m hoping with his size and ability he’s cracking HR’s with ease there!

  36. Fun fact - I played at Dreams Park in 1996 the inaugural season. It was insane. Dorming with kids from other states at 12 years old made for crazy nights of pranks, fights, etc. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

  37. Well travel ball has a break before one last tournament Labor Day weekend. Tryouts were done for next yr, my son just turned 12 the end of May and was playing on an 11u team, he’s moving up with the coach to 13u starting starting soon and into next yr. Im happy to have him now be the youngest on the team and looking up to other players. One bonus is next yr the program will have a 12u Cooperstown only team so my son will be able to play down and experience c town!!

  41. Found my release in my hunting boots I had with me when I picked the bow up. I really need to be better organized. First shots at 10 yards since that faithful day in 2019 Last shots of the night at 20 yards after some tweaking of the sight. Not bad for the first go round of the year. I still want to tweak the sight a bit then shoot a bunch. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  43. You will get scoped from dumb f@&k who thinks a scope and binoculars are the same thing...... But actually unsafe where you get shot? Look at the reports, most are members of their own hunting party who screw up. More scary are the accidents in turkey season.

  44. Not sure I want you checking my work up close. Haha.

  45. I think a new hunter it could lead to them getting lost depending on the size of the land the person decides to hunt. Still hunting is very safe if you wear hunter orange and take your time and know how to walk woods and use a compass. Like grampy said though it takes a lot of practice and patience to know how to do it correctly. But the only way to learn the right way or a better way is to screw up. I'm all for any individual choosing his/her own style of hunting.
