Whats everybody shooting for broadheads this year? anyone trying any new 2017 models?

Between my grandson and I, with two bows, 100gr Slick Tricks and NAP Thunderheads or possibly, Muzzy's. Depends on what shoots best from his bow.

Gonna try using some 100g muzzy,if they shoot good i'll use them . If they require a bunch of tuning ,ill put mechanicals on.

I also bought 12 Chinadermics, 12 heads for $10. Might toss a Spitfire, Ulmer edge, Rage hypodermic, Carbon Express Torrid in the quiver... Gotta keep the deer guessing.

Ill be using 100 grain NAP Killzone's. Got 2 more packs for an amazing deal so looks like ill be shooting them for a little while.

Stingers . 30 years used 4 differant heads . But the majority has been a fixed blade Mangus , I did go crazy one year and kill a buck with a Rage thingie .

SlickTrick ViperTrick........2nd year for me.  Last year was my first year with them and they passed with flying colors.  (mostly RED color though)

Chinadermics just like the past two years...

You got me very curious to try these on our crossbows. On my compound, I'm down to maybe a tick above 50 lbs. Not sure if thats enough push for these. And the fixed blades I use have done well for me. But the crossbows have more than enough push. For the cost, I may have to give em a try.

I don't think they recommend anyone under 60 pounds to use them. Might be okay in a crossbow though

NAP killzones 100 grain like last year no reason to switch

G5 Montec CS, 100 grain.  They're pricey, but easy to sharpen for multiple uses.  I use the "preseason" at 100 grain to sight the bow and for practice, and it makes for an easy and confident transfer when time comes to draw back on a deer.

Muzzy mx3 good solid heads break bone and razor sharp.

I shoot mechs because I like all that cutting diameter but tune with Montecs. Great design IMO

I shoot the muzzy fixed blade. They fly well and penetrate well. Had one go through the ribcage and break the front leg on the opposite side. I only shoot 55#. 

Works for me,so staying with it.

Yeah, when I see pics of blood trails from mechanical broad heads, I'm almost persuaded to give up the fixed-blades.  But blood trails with the Montecs have always been adequate, except for once, and that was my fault: poor shot placement - a gut shot.
