For Fun, Pick my weapon!!!

Every year, when I come north for deer season, I like to try different weapons. Some are mine and some I oftentimes borrow from friends. I always bring a main and a back-up rifle. This year, for my main rifle, I'm bringing an old Win 94 in .32 Spl. It was my Dad's from the 50's and 60's. For my back-up I'm not sure. Here are a few choices...

1). Ruger #1 in .300 H&H..safe queen

2). Dakota Model 10 in .257 Roberts ..safe queen

3). Browning X Bolt in .223... new and not bloodied

4). Sako 75 in .30-06... proven killer

5). Win 1885 Low Wall in .243... sweet and light single

If the choice were yours, which would you bring and why???!!! HELP ME CHOOSE

I think it would depend on terrain and distance. Wood , wooded open ag. ,or hedge row open.

1st 257 Bob probably a lighter rifle and all one needs for dear

2nd 3006  just in case the Bob went over a Clif.

#3 not a fan of  for deer

#4 boreing

#5 I likey a single shot and a 243.

I narrowed it down to 2 ..lol

I'm not the sentimental type and shoot a Tikka T3x myself so the proven Sako would probably get my nod.

Definitely the Sako in 30-06 it will cover almost anything you can find up "North".

Ide bring the sako for deer and bring the browning for coyote if you fill your deer tag early.

.243 and 06 would be my choices. I love the .243 just a natural born killer. The 06 will kill anything in the North America and very similar to .308 for ballistics. .243 gets my nod because they are a perky little gun that are under rated for deer.

Sako gets my vote. But only slightly over the Dakota. Everything on the list gets an honorable mention! Nice group o' guns!

I tried to sell The Mermaid to buy one but they told me that her milage was too high..

All  I could afford from the proceeds was a Daisy BB gun with a broken stock....

#6.  Buy something new /new-to-you and bring it as your backup gun, "just to break it in".
