I’m in the same boat, end of the month we get a new fridge so the old one becomes a dedicated deer/beer cooler and then temps be damned.

Maybe if you had some that wasn't packaged in 2008 . Meat doesn't age like wine and cheese.
Hey I'll have you know I've eaten a bag that was nearly 4 years old (estimate) and it was still delicious. Though I don't recommend doing so. But I did and it was excellent
