Took a slow walk in this morning just after it got light. Found 2 sets of big, fresh tracks despite only having 2 deer on camera all night. Not sure if I’ll do another all day sit or not. It’s back to work for me tomorrow, and the 9 days off starting Saturday.

Think I'll poke around the neighbors I have permission to hunt.  He tells me the "nature conservancy” next door is throwing out corn for the deer.  And bears.  *Sigh"

Saw one deer so far. I think it might've been a young 6pt. Hard to tell though. It was moving through the neighbors brush about 100yds behind me. Lots of squirrel and turkey though. 3 shots so far.

Im assuming this opening weekend was a bell ringer, two beautiful days with snow on the ground. Also the woods get a little break from the masses before Thanksgiving which will be Opening Day 2.0

Bring it over to my garage! We will wrangle a few guys together drink some beers and process the whole damn thing in a night.

Keep it in mind for the next one. Everything would leave in a vacuum sealed package with a label. I’m not a professional by any means but I get the job done with the basic steaks, filets, roast and ground. This picture is of the salmon and trout from the spring but it gives you an idea of the packaging.

In hang on. Snowy rain n foggy. Hit estrous can call at 835 n 845 stood up to stretch n look behind me n they all came in 850-905. They never spooked. 5 does/fawns under 25yds. Need a buck now! Screenshot of video attached. They were headed towards my dad and he saw them 10min later

Just had 2 does come running through, I waited To see if there was a buck trailing. Instead, another doe was behind them, limping hard. I followed her in the scope to see if she would prevent a clear shot, but she didn’t. I could Clearly see a bleeding wound on her right rear leg. I feel Bad that I couldnt Put her out of her misery but it was just too thick where she went through.

Every processor is just like that one around here, I cut my neighbors buck up for him last night cause he couldn’t find one.

Lots of action. After dad saw the 5 does/fawns like me he seen a buck chasing doe hard 100yds in heavy stuff. He moved and saw them again. Then tried Grunting and a spike came running in. Cams are all daylight pics now and fresh rubs everywhere

Same story here in 8J at the processor I use.  I caped mine myself and took the body last night.  She said they took in 100+ opening day, 50+ each on Sun and Mon.  She said it was the most they have ever had, and the most bucks ever they have been asked to cape for mounting purposes.
