Robhuntandfish
Looking at the long range forecast, looks like a big temp drop mid next weekend! Sitting here in a shirt. Prob should have stayed home but I guess since I'm here.... Edited October 9, 2021 by Robhuntandfish

billey100
We learned a lot from this morning, moved the pop up to the middle of the bean fields and covered it in corn stalks. Proud to say my son just dropped his first buck ever. Pics shortly...
Swamp_bucks
Nothing tonight the oaks I was at had 0 acorns on the ground and nothing in the trees. I think something was on the ridge above me where there are more oaks because the blue Jay's were going nuts all night.
dbHunterNY
Had a family function. Pulled trail cam cards on farm. I mean I was close to the woods so does this count? LOL fawns and multiple doe came in. Even if it was my owners the backyard. Got home and had a small spike under my apples tree. I think some of you need to hunt backyards more. LOL.Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
stubborn1VT
Was 62 with a nice SE breeze. Sat in the hedgerow and ended up with deer in my lap. Didn't have the greatest day, so it was fun to watch does and fawns eat brassicas and clover. The fawns got within 10 feet. Last year's fawn picked me off at about 15 feet, but they never had my wind, so she just stomped and blew and head bobbed. Big mama stayed back at first. Could have shot her 3 times by the time they filed out of the plot. It was awesome to see them up close, but I feel kinda dumb for spooking them. Ah well. Hopefully make it to the farm tomorrow. grampy
We moved this stand to the thick stuff, below a small ridge. Shots will be close. But this is where we need to be, based on everything we've put together. It's not perfect, as access, and wind direction is the key, but it's close. This may be my gun opener spot? A cut between two big THICK bedding areas, that we never set foot in. About 200 yards to the left from the top picture. If I don't get him from one spot, hopefully I will from the other? Time will tell? Or perhaps I'll shoot the first decent one that comes in? I was quite humbled last year.

Popular Post mowin
Good friend of mine oldest daughter (12) is after her first deer. I offered to take them over to my spots in the evening if they were unsuccessful in the morning. They had deer around them, but they got busted. We set up around 3pm this evening. Seen our first deer around 5:30 150yrds out, but something spooked the doe, fawn and spike, and they ran over the rise in the field. 30 min later we had a big doe feed over the rise only 110 yrds out. Following her was her twins, a small spike, and a decent spike. Lila's leg was jumping uncontrollably as they fed closer. Around 90yrds out the wind swirled and they got nervous. Spike turned broadside, and Lila dropped him with a single shot from a .243. The smile on her face is priceless. 52
