It’s fascinating how the pandemic has empowered the wage worker. This won’t benefit the consumer directly, especially until a new equilibrium is reached. But I hope some of the changes are enduring.

I think it will benefit the consumer more down the line - it is speeding up automation. Necessity is the mother of all invention. Reduces Ops cost and scales faster.

My business units have four bots now in the past 24 months.

When there is a down turn, who are going to be the first let go? The ones that are over priced for their skill set and experience and the ones that showed no loyalty.  I'm seeing kids resumes that are 4 years out of college and with 4 to 6 employers on their resumes.

I used to think like that about loyalty to the employer but I’ve shifted over the past few years. Loyalty is earned by treating employees in a way they choose to stay. In today’s market, you have to find the solution. Pay, WFH, flexible scheduling, creating a fun, purpose driven workplace is going to do the trick. The agile companies find a way. The ones who talk about loyalty - those are the ones in trouble.

The fear of a downturn doesn’t exist in foreseeable future according to most people. It doesn’t drive their decision. If we come out of the pandemic the post pandemic run is going to be huge from a growth POV and it’ll last years. If we linger in the pandemic like now or it gets worse….the govt has shown it will support people. No rent money? No problem. Student loans? Don’t pay them. Need some money for cigs and GL? Here you go.

We would need a collapse of epic proportions for these “overpaid” people to be worried. And even then, they’d find the next job because there are more jobs than those who want them. We’re 10.1 million jobs in the hole right now as a nation.

I have a truck that I haul bins of produce on as it's harvested. It needs an inspection this month and has a couple of questionable tires on it. I ran into the guy that does the inspection on it and made mention of that and he said we better hope it's good enough for now because it's about a 6 week wait for tires!

There’s no shortage of guys who will slap a sticker on for a few $.

I got stopped this summer as my sticker was two colors off of the current ones lol .

OK. But there are junkyards all over NY where you'd pay half of even what you'd pay in the after market. But that's up to you

11$ part, the five dollars saved isn’t worth my time not to mention the car is perfectly safe. It has 2 front blinkers per side and one on each side doesn’t work. State inspection says they all must work. They’re not getting my 25$ for the inspection until the part gets here.

I was a mechanic for many years and auto manufacturers aren't required to manufacture parts for any model after tens years. Many parts for cars 10+ yrs aren't available in the aftermarket so yep that's the way it's done

I still am a technician after many years, and no that is not how it is done with a reputable company.

Maybe at billy bobs shade tree mechanics with a dirt floor and 25 watt bulb hanging 15 foot in the air, but any respectable company does not.

Parts may go back order, but will still be available after 10 years unless manufacturer goes under.

You're just wrong

Im a retired diesel engine specialist for Chevy. Worked at two Dealerships for the most of my career over 30 years. Never worked under a 25w bulb, lots of laughs, and I'm not wrong

I would love a new  truck ..  nothing on the lots and no incentives being offered really ... new prices are through the roof . BIL says wait until fall or early January.

Reloading I'm pretty set . After 2013 I made sure I bought when I could find things . To the point I was hoarding before it was cool . Picked up molds for most of the guns I shoot . Just a matter of  setting up the casting  pot and having a few hours to get it done.

Trade value is declining on trucks with anticipation of new trucks coming. Dealership does not want to get stuck with over priced used trucks
