Shot a fat doe tonight , can’t find her

Man I hate this … it was an easy broadside shot 60 yard shot .

I rocked her, she ran about 40 yards and dropped but her head was up..

It was getting dark and starting to rain so I shot again, she was facing away from me so I shot at the back of her neck.

She stumbled around trying to get on her feet then I lost sight of her.

Its a 10 acre lot of 4ft high goldenrod .

It was getting dark quick and staring to rain lightly .

I drove around with my 4 wheeler but realized I needed to wait till daylight .

So I’ll be there tomorrow at day break .

Its 40 degs tonight so I’m hoping I can find her fist thing .

I can’t imagine she’s alive…

I hate this so much .. if she’s dead I’m ok with that but I hope she’s not wounded ..

I am pretty sure she is dead and you will find her in the morning or if you go even now with a flash light..

What did you shoot her with ?

I rode around a little tonight but it was dark and lite rain .. I’ll be able to see better in the morning .

Its 40 degs so the meat should be ok..

I just hope I can find her .. it’s all goldenrod

Even with the light rain you'll almost most definitely have better luck looking on foot vs on the 4wheeler.

Much easier to find blood and track her that way.

This!  She might be tucked something you'll never see her on your quad.  Goldenrod is the absolute worst.

Dead deer. A neck shot with a 243 most certainly ended things. Im surprised she even moved after that hit. Good luck

Agree, if I do t find her I’m going to check my zero , that thing was dialed in !!!

Scope mounts all tight and blue lock tight ..

Never dropped or hit …

Good luck …I too am confident for you!
That may be the part about gun hunting don’t like - recalling the exact “hit spot” gets harder and harder the further away, especially in fields. Combine that with now having no arrow at the hit sight, getting started on the track can be so hard!
