Yes, bring this argument up to anyone and they will point out one slight flaw in your logic: 20 injured is not 20 dead. How about we stay a little classy today and just pray all of the children hurt make a full recovery. Save the Cuomo jokes for tomorrow.5 points

Probably not the right event to push gun agendas. Sad event. The anti's however, will point to the sad fact and truth that a gun would have probably caused more injury and death. The supporters will point to the fact that people are messed up no matter what. There are no winners. Just losers with these things.2 points

I understand everyones frustration with this but please chill with trying to bring this into our gun problem here in NY.Those are someones kids,if they were any of our kids in that school we would be loosing our damn minds wondering if my child is hurt either physically or mentally.Have some compassion please,I am not trying to start a fight so please don't think that and I know none of the posters here are making light of the situation but we need to show some good judgement and not bring this into the gun law arena right now.2 points

Pretty obvious to some.. many hunters can't tell a mature buck when it has antlers..lol2 points

Here's a new game. It's lots of fun. Read FSW's posts out loud in a cartoon villain voice. It fits so well with Gargamel from the Smurfs. Or better yet, speak it like the scary movie trailer guy!2 points

you have been saying that mature males, since they roam are more likely to spread CWD. That appears to be false since the data shows they are the age class with the smallest increase.2 points

Snuck out this morning to do some scouting/photography. Got in close to a huge winter flock but they went the other way onto posted property when they hit the ground. Eventually a few hens drifted back my way and past my blind. They brought their boyfriend, but he wasn't quite as cooperative about having his picture taken. Peek-a-Boo1 point

It is sad to say, but today is the last day of the coyote season here in NY. We are still trying to get out some videos from earlier in the season. We love when we are able to capture footage of dogs sneaking through the woods like this big female. Enjoy!1 point

Pull up a chair, grab a few cold ones, and enjoy the show! Gets annoying though when it's squirrel, squirrel, same squirrel, the squirrel with no tail for 250 frames... I thinned the herd a little in January. Takes longer to look at all the pics of 'em than it does to bring 'em home to the crockpot.1 point

Legislation is being put together to be introduced in the next month or so to classify all semi autos as "assault weapons" regardless of magazine capacity or after market changes. This is to include rifles shotguns and handguns. By the definition of the law, that would mean all will have to be registered as well and no longer be able to be purchased or sold in NY state. This is being done to stop the legal AR's. This would mean the ol 742 and 1100 will be classified. And when you pass away, the state takes them. The anti's in Albany are not going to back down from having it their way. As we all remain divided on what the second amendment is about and we do not stand united, they see no threat to take away OUR not us we and them rights. This has not been made public, just like the safe act was not. This information was passed on to me by a friend of mine who is an assemblyman. Still think they don't want all your guns? Just keep sitting back and thinking that and soon it will happen. The bottom line is this law is unconstitutional on both the federal and state levels. Splitting hairs on which guns they will not allow is simple bull crap. Either you support the 2nd amendment or you do not. Yes it is that simple.1 point

"The Justice Department has requested $382.1 million in increased spending for its fiscal year 2014 budget for "gun safety." " You know what that means? ..... They will be using our own tax money to come up with more ways to implement new harassment techniques to destroy our own rights. Isn't it wonderful?1 point

Not to be too picky, but just for clarity, but the phrase is not "a mute point", but rather "a moot point. Not trying to be the grammar police, but just pointing out a common misuse of words. Might as well have something useful come out of this worthless thread. There, now I have done my good deed for the day .... lol.1 point

Let me translate for those that haven't gotten it yet... QDMA is promoting the spread of CWD... you may not have picked up on that subtle point... and for those that just are completely baffled and confused by all FSW's posts.. you may not realize it but you've been served.. another point that may confuse you as well... if you find yourself making sense of any of this nonsense you may need some sleep or have an inner ear infection. I'm sorry, but this crap is so ridiculous.. I can't help myself.1 point

Make sure your not converting a good bedding area into a food plot, those are worth more than the food plot is. And if you turkey hunt are they nesting areas?.. seems every overgrown field becomes a food plot... its not always a good thing... I screwed up myself and lost a great bedding area. Yes the deer came to eat but bedding is far more important.. if the deer bed. Property's away they have to walk past a lot of hunters before they get to your foods and if highly pressured will do so only under cover of darkness. If they bed on yours and a well thought out and placed plot is planted they only walk on your property.1 point

Look at Fort Hood - no weapons allowed on military base, except to MP's & security staff. Still had a shooting via a personally owned handgun (not an AR [armalite rifle] or an actual assault weapon). Just shows how the law banning something really works for those intending to break them. Even if the worst happens and they manage to ban all guns in civilian hands, the career criminals and gangs will still be armed and running rampant everywhere. Then need more funds to train and hire more police, purchase more police cars, build/expand hospitals, hire doctors, nurses, and ER staff. As a result taxes go up even more. Tell those who live off the land and have to deal with grizzly bears roaming around their home and taking out their cattle, sheep, and goats to turn in all their guns. Tell anyone who lives on our country's borders and have groups of illegals crossing their property to turn in their guns when help is not measured in minutes but hours away. Disarm the gem dealers, so they can be robbed constantly with no defense. The Second Amendment is there for all of us. If the 2nd goes, before you know it we will not have any rights left and now way to get them back.1 point

Hey remember that time you spent arguing with FSW and then realized you'll never get that time back? Lol1 point

As a weapon enthusiast some of these posts really get to me and for that I normally stay out of the argument. But the 2nd amendment is not here to protect hunting rights but to allow the citizens of this great country to (try) and protect themselves from threats foreign and domestic. Ars are a great weapon along with AKs and SKS and ruger 10/22 with stock mods high point cabinets and many many other firearms. It's not just about ARs there is a lot of history being lost from this ban and what goes along with it. A M1A if I am correct is the longest duty weapon to this day and if anyone has done any stock conversions on this it falls into a assault rifle category. This law is a menace to law abiding citizens like I believe we all are and should be repealed. If a country was ever inclined to invade the USA trust me you would benefit if you and all your law abiding neighbors and friends had assault weapons. Sorry for rant but this hits home and really bugs.me. Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk1 point

What the heck are you blabbing about? Eating crow, spitting lies and bashing? Nonsense. I just think you are annoying. Go post this drivel on the QDMA forum site and leave this one for non-profit hunting/fishing topics.1 point

Yes I do and here is why. This is not a Cuomo agenda. This is a federal agenda and Cuomo is the puppet for Bloomberg and Obama. They are not looking at the big picture. They are looking at the focus on the agenda. Call me a conspiracy theorist or whatever. Look at the federal agenda. If the house of reps goes to the left in November, look out. The federal laws they will enact will make the safe act look like it is good. They will not lose money, they will enact an animal control tax. When they have control of the guns, we will have no way to stop this. The writing is on the wall.1 point

looking at what you bolded and the other age classes •adult males from about 8% to nearly 18%, (225% increase) •adult females from about 3% to approximately 7%, (233% increase) •yearling males from about 2% to about 6%,(300% increase) •and yearling females from 2% to about 5%.(250% increase) Based on the post you made it appears the younger age classes has the greatest increase1 point

Actually, what I said was this nonsense is repeating like a bad song. Its annoying that you are the broken record. My time here has dwindled since posters like you and papist have went on these rants about political tin foil topics and personal for-profit agendas. I understand why growie doesnt come around here anymore. People like you ruin it.1 point

This was my thought. If you read through the comments, it certainly stirred up some of the animal rights group. I fully support shooting yotes legally. I don't see the need to glamorize it. Some things that we do in life are distasteful, but necessary. Yote shooting is one of them. I just don't see the need to post it for the world to see. An animal lover would only need to see one video of yotes killing and eating a fawn alive to understand the other side, but that side of the story isn't told in this picture and most likely those that develop a distaste for hunting and hunters from this picture will never see that side of the story. Necessary, just doesn't help our cause.1 point

all over it? hardly............I just don't think any animal we are allowed to hunt should be displayed like trash, whether that be coyotes, deer, geese, turkey, etc.......1 point

It makes me feel glad that I am not standing downwind of that truck. You ever SMELL a dead coyote ? Even one stinks..I couldn't imagine being around a whole truckload of them.1 point

True... Most hunters are more worried about someone else killing "their" deer instead of concentrating on hunting and killing it themselves. To be so worried about crossbow hunters that you would not hunt for two weeks of bow hunting because they'd be in the woods is ridiculous. Like biting off your nose to spit your face. All this stuff is going to be a distant memory without a hitch before you know it... just like with the intro of the compound... this is just like it was then.1 point

deer hunting has become an extremely selfish sport, and if you ask me that's really the root of all these arguments against anything new being introduced into it...........1 point

I think laws that exist should be enforced period. As for a law being all encompassing.. I don't want to live in a society where that is even possible...might as well become communist and live where you are told do exactly what your told or go to the Gulag... people are people and mistakes are made its human nature. A guideline for distance is fine if your that dumb to shoot in the direction of people or a house there are laws to fine /lock you up. Already.1 point

We started DWO with the main goal being to try to produce the highest quality videos on the internet. Over the years, we haven’t strayed far from that goal and we hope you agree. We decided to never make our passion for hunting about money, instead keeping it just a fun hobby. We have thought about coming out with a DVD collection but were unable to due to all of the hidden costs and no guarantee of breaking even. Since then, we have had some TV hosts come out to film with us as an alternative. Down the road you will see DWO make some TV appearances, but for the most part, we will still just enjoy putting our footage on YouTube. In upcoming news, we plan to release instructional videos, so stay tuned for those. Overall, we want to say thank you to our fans for the great words of encouragement on our work.1 point

This should pretty much date me back to the ice age, but JFK was president when I began hunting. Dabbled with long & recurve bows, just never got confident enough to ethically hunt with them being self-taught. So, when compound bows came out, I jumped on the bandwagon. Never went the Flintlock route, but have owned and built numerous caplock MLs. All with iron/open sights. Shotguns were always the bead or rifle sights. "...For those that use to shoot trad equipment... why did you switch to modern weaponry? Please, this is not a trad vs. modern thread. Just curious about the thought process of other hunters and why they choose one over the other..." My transition to a modern in-line, scoped ML and soon to be Xbow as weapons of choice was basically dictated by what the old body can still do! Convenience had nothing to do with my transition into modern weaponry, but primarily dictated by fading eyesight and muscle tone. In my mind, I want to be hunting 20 years from now with a Hawken or compound bow, but realistically.............. You know, the Hatchet Jack scenario!1 point

If you have a neighbor whose house/etc can be reached with an arrow, there is only ONE choice for target placement. And that is tight against your own house - no other place. If you aren't confident shooting it there, you shouldn't be shooting in any other direction.1 point
