I've been on this site once before and got off because of the same reason. Lack of respect n the desire of some to argue every point. Forums are good for discussion, sharing ideas n differences in opinion or experience but attacking another is childish. Didn't know where else to write this so I put it here. We're all brothers n sisters, no need to name call or harass8 points

Even after boiled, I don't think I'd want it back just KNOWING where its been. Hell I may give up the whole idea now and through it in the box with all the other junk I have from hunts; I'll never look at it the same!4 points

This Cooper's Hawk has been sitting 15' from the house for almost an hour. The feeder birds are not happy. Both photos taken with a cheap point and shoot. The head shot taken through my spotting scope. Note sheep in the background.3 points

"Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety." -- Benjamin Franklin If the FBI is actually incapable of retrieving information from this phone, maybe they should focus more on not letting these a***oles into our country to begin with. A thorough investigation of the Obama/Jarret agenda would likely obviate the need for trying to screw with The People in a Free-market economy.3 points

Left-right? This is a civil liberties issue that goes beyond political leanings. Anyway, the lefties on this site are so middle-of-the-road real lefties wouldn't tolerate their company.2 points

From what ive seen over the years, where i hunt and live in 8P, the deer dont really yard up, maybe into some 2 or 3 family doe groups .. but thats about it. My guess is because of the amount of food around. From ag fields and food plots and natural browse.. there must be enough of it around. But this picture above is proof obv. must depend on the area and its food source per deer #2 points

They should not ignore it but they should follow the process to appeal it. I for one don't have anything to hide and still load custom roms on my phones to avoid as much government and Google tracking as I can. If it doesn't do anything it at least makes me feel better. If I built a homemade PC and installed windows on it and set it so if you entered the password too many times it exploded Microsoft wouldn't be called in to hack my system. Terrorism or not some people just don't want the govt in their stuff. The FBI should be using their own resources and if they can't do it move on or hire better people.2 points

We went to NYC once with another couple. It was interesting, but once was enough. I have not had any desire to ever go back for any reason. It offers me absolutely nothing. It is not my kind of environment or lifestyle.2 points

The DEC is saying no change in the deer regulations for up to the next 5 years, and the possible removal of the doe only reg. in some WMU’s. That’s ok with me.1 point

This has nothing with Apple following "the law". There is NO LAW that says Apple has to do anything. The only thing that exists is a court order. Court orders are fought all the time. When the court orders you to pay twenty billion dollars a month to your ex-wife, that's not the law, that's just a court order. So you hire a lawyer and you challenge the order because you don't like it. Then the order is modified, or it's not, or it's withdrawn, or whatever. The point is that every year there are millions of court orders, and the same court orders are challenged left and right by people who disagree. So your question should be "Should Apple lay down and accept the court order as is or should they hire Ted Olson to challenge it?" What do you think? What should ANY BUSINESS do when presented with a court order they don't like?1 point

I truly believe that the vast majority of mismanagement will keep on going until the day that NY has a real fish and game department, and not just a division of DEC. The DEC wears far too many hats. Like the old saying goes, jack of all trades, master of none. Just one thing Id like to point out, PA does not have a bounty on coyotes.1 point

You say you gauge deer by weight but I have never seen a spike that out weighed a mature buck. A rutted out buck (in my case this past season) weighed 168lbs. Only saw 1 spike that came close and was the one above I mentioned. If you truly hunt for meat why shoot many small deer instead of many large deer. What you described is backwards thinking. As nature works the genetically inept usually don't get to breed the mature does as they are ran off by more mature bucks granted if there is a high doe to buck ratio that might not always happen. If the mature deer in that area are scrub bucks then they will be smaller raked mature deer. Studies have shown that as all deer mature they grow antler AND point wise. Eventually those spikes and 4 points grow into 6 and 8 points. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk1 point

I can understand your fustrations, but that is what high grading does when there is a large number of hunters 3 a side is shot leaving 4pt with no brows, soon you'll have monster 4 pt running around because they can't legally be shot. Imo leave all yearling bucks alone evendors if is a 10 pt... you always hear a spike can become a 10 pt. But isn't it better to have a 10 pt to start with? It will most likely be aq10 pt the following yer or bugger..no wait and see.. imo if you want a buck for meat shoot the spike and leave the 6 ,8 and 10 alone ..1 point

And as far as I am concerned that is the proper way to handle that problem rather than legally jamming it down people's throats. I am a big proponent of the DEC taking on a very visible education campaign on ARs, and the taking of does, and any of those kinds of controversies. To often the first thing that everybody jumps for is some legally binding restrictions even before a decent campaign of jawboning has been tried. It's time for the DEC to stop taking the "we vs. they" approach to every issue and try a bit of working in conjunction with hunters. Not everything has to involve force.1 point

Well your last point is the biggest, the dec is not a game management organization it is an enviromental one. You cannot get the changes you want and nys needs until an ammendment is made to nys constitution giving the right to hunt and fish and creating a game management agency to run it. To many dollars are diverted to clean up air and or water or land,if they can prove it benifits wildlife Roberson Pittman funds are available. And cleaning up the enviroment always benifits wildlife. Comparing state that have game departments to nys is not comparing apples to apples.. that is the main reason why out hunting research and development and enforcement suffers....REMEMBER WE DO NOT HAVE A SEASON NEXT YEAR TILL THE LEGISLATORS VOTE YES TO IT...LIFETIME LICENSE OR NOT... why invest monies and personal to a sport that only exists year to year???1 point

I have been reloading for about 40 years, about 12 diff. calibers. My opinion is the most important piece of equipment is a current reloading manual (my preference is Speer), which will explain a lot of the "whys" as well as "hows". It is difficult to be a safe reloader without paying attention to reloading science and theory. 2nd, a good quality scale: I have both a bar scale and a digital. Their quality is the quality of your ammo, and safety. Next : a set of quality calipers. Case lengths, overall lengths, all are critical in reloading. Lastly: be sure you aren't rushed...EVER, when loading. It is a great hobby, but it isn't for anyone who doesn't have patience, or for those who want to trim corners.1 point
