  1. I've been on this site once before and got off because of the same reason. Lack of respect n the desire of some to argue every point. Forums are good for discussion, sharing ideas n differences in opinion or experience but attacking another is childish. Didn't know where else to write this so I put it here. We're all brothers n sisters, no need to name call or harass

  7. This Cooper's Hawk has been sitting 15' from the house for almost an hour. The feeder birds are not happy. Both photos taken with a cheap point and shoot. The head shot taken through my spotting scope. Note sheep in the background.

  9. "Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety." -- Benjamin Franklin If the FBI is actually incapable of retrieving information from this phone, maybe they should focus more on not letting these a***oles into our country to begin with. A thorough investigation of the Obama/Jarret agenda would likely obviate the need for trying to screw with The People in a Free-market economy.

  11. Left-right? This is a civil liberties issue that goes beyond political leanings. Anyway, the lefties on this site are so middle-of-the-road real lefties wouldn't tolerate their company.

  12. From what ive seen over the years, where i hunt and live in 8P, the deer dont really yard up, maybe into some 2 or 3 family doe groups .. but thats about it. My guess is because of the amount of food around. From ag fields and food plots and natural browse.. there must be enough of it around. But this picture above is proof obv. must depend on the area and its food source per deer #

  20. They should not ignore it but they should follow the process to appeal it. I for one don't have anything to hide and still load custom roms on my phones to avoid as much government and Google tracking as I can. If it doesn't do anything it at least makes me feel better. If I built a homemade PC and installed windows on it and set it so if you entered the password too many times it exploded Microsoft wouldn't be called in to hack my system. Terrorism or not some people just don't want the govt in their stuff. The FBI should be using their own resources and if they can't do it move on or hire better people.

  21. We went to NYC once with another couple. It was interesting, but once was enough. I have not had any desire to ever go back for any reason. It offers me absolutely nothing. It is not my kind of environment or lifestyle.

  22. So the last couple of years I have stepped up my shed hunting. My hunting property is 45 min from my house so I have taken to the nature preserve about 5 min away. Every day my daughter and I along with my Golden (Milo) have been walking all over this nature preserve. Now people walk the trails but I have never seen anyone walk off the trail while i am there. My daughter and i have found numerous trails, beds, poop, rubs etc. I feel like i have nailed down pretty well where the deer are traveling (away from the people) and we have walked and grid searched pretty large area's of the preserve off the trails where it is my belief that nobody goes. There are never any footprints when there is snow off the trails. I can't imagine what i am doing wrong. Now my daughter is 11 so she probably isn't looking as hard as i am when we are searching and i am enjoying every minute in the woods with her pointing out sign etc but man. I am on a mission now to find a shed....for now i am hoping it is just a bit to early.....

  24. I installed a Rip Cord Ace on my bow last week and the directions had me follow this method and I found it easy. I don't have a draw board but it came out perfect. Remarkably I eyeballed it to perfection and didn't have to adjust the rest after paper tuning. I served mine in after I dropped the mini nut for the football clamp and couldn't find it in the garage, lol.

  27. The penis bone thing is pretty popular. Most guys save em for some reason. Guys stir coffee w em, have em dipped in gold, etc. Bears, coons, foxes, coyotes have em. Used to have customers save em all.

  32. There aren't any cons unless you consider time spent doing it a problem. You can as stated fine tune a gun and make it shoot fantastic. Best part is once you figure it all out you just make more. Same everything so nothing changes. One thing I'd say though is every serious reloader I know uses a RCBS, they're sturdy, easy to get parts for and their customer service is gotta be one of the best. Good luck w whatever you decide

  37. I would typically call this my Strong one a day IPA however this batch came out different. I think I carmelized it a bit while brewing which made it come out more like bitter candy that makes you happy. If that makes any sense to ya. It makes the hair on the back of my neck stand straight because my senses get overwhelmed and don't know what to do I think. Anyone who's tried this batch says something similar.

  39. I have a REALLY nice turkey tote given to me by a friend of mine from Louisiana. It is about a 5 inch length of deer leg bone, highly polished, with an excellent reproduction of a turkey wing feather scrimshawed on it. It is fitted with with a lanyard so you could use it to sling a gobbler and tote him out of the woods, but it's too pretty to use for anything but display.

Like this; Just got it back from tannery on Friday along with some other misc skins that need projects.... May make horns into a set of wall sconces if another idea doesn't work out.

  45. My daughter lives here in Rochester her boyfriend is in med school in NYC, she goes from a treestand here one day to a Broadway play the next, although seeking out the better pastry shops is more her thing in NYC. That's a nice life. I'm a woods guy, but I'm happy to say I've been to Peter Lugars, McSorleys,Carmine's ,top of the Empire State Building , Ground Zero, Ten House, cruised on FDNY's fire boat, and walked across the Brooklyn Bridge ( passed on the chance to buy it ) and many other places in NYC. It's a great place to take a family around Christmas as well . Oh and I slept on a couch in Park Slope that Levon Helms crashed on when he was in town. No not at the same time......

  47. For the cover you describe, the choice is white spruce.. it can tolerate some shade, if you were to plant norway you would loose a lot to shade.,white pine will be eaten and rubbed by buck and it does not retain lower limbs as it grows.. which eliminates all other pine, thermal cover requires low limbs. Your desire to not do a plantation planting also pushes toward white spruce . As for having brush and Grass grow under them thermal cover would dissappear. Clumps of 5 to 7 trees 10 ft apart perhaps mixed with oak or beach would be the best planting.

  48. I haven't seen much evidence of yarding here in Erie Co.(9h) Matter of fact, I haven't seen much evidence of deer gatherings PERIOD. Perhaps the are yarded somewhere I am not aware of, but they really seem to be spread out more this winter compared to years past around here. Here's shot I got back in 2013 while shed hunting in East Aurora. This was probably only half of them I could fit in the frame out in the field at one time. I remember another herd of equal size at the other end of this field at the same time.

  49. This is likely why your valley is not where it should be. Lengthen the chord and tie it further down the cable. I tie mine directly into the cable (serve above the where the chord is inserted in the cable) and simply set in the split cable then draw the bow on the board until it hits full draw, pull on the chord until arm is fully erect and then let down the bow. Mark that spot on the chord, pull it further through the cable and cut/melt at the marked point. That will stop it where you need it. That will ensure that the arm is coming up at the last possible moment, but still being fully raised. You will find your valley again.
