Me and my dad hit the river for some striper fishing. We came up on some shoals and I saw a small logjam. I decided to hang the gopro on top of it. I failed to check it out for wasp/hornets. About the time I get up there and get the camera adjusted POP POP POP! Had to dive back in. It sucked at the time but is hilarious now. My dad came over and batted 1000 against the wasps. Hope you get a kick out of the video. Facebook: Zach Byrd Adventure Hour3 points

I will just say that they do not take kindly to getting too close to their "nest" which just happens to be on the first floor of our barn. I WAS gonna work on bracing the second floor platform but momma was pretty insistent that I vacate her territory. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk2 points

Try as many as you can, get the one that "feels right". So many good bows out today. Elite as mentioned is a very nice shooting bow, Mathews makes great bows, Bowtech, Hoyt the list goes on but simply put you should get one that feels good. Easy of draw, good back wall and easy shooting and let-off are some of the things I look for. Good luck, let us know which one you choose.2 points

Ain't no flies on the 25-06 as a deer cartridge.. With 100 grain bullets (my choice) it is a .243 on steroids... BANG- FLOPS with heart/lung shots are common.. With 115-120 grain bullets it is so close to the .270/130 grain combo that it is not even worth arguing about the difference..1 point

Many hard years of partying doesn't help me, but medical has come a long way. An even 100 sounds good. I feel like I got 68 good years left in me. LolSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

No...A NY hunter to be the first to kill a moose in NY during a season. I'm thinking this is now on the table because of moose vehicle collisions...where both Moose and driver loose...1 point
-
You mean the 1st new Yorker to kill one legally in season..lol.. there has been more than one shot by some fool , thinking it was a deer.1 point

Well if they believe we have a huntable population I'm all for it. I personally would like to see the moose population be in the 1000 range before we have a season. I'm glad that when the DEC thinks there are enough they can make a season.1 point

Their's nothing nicer, that I can think of than picking a nice ripe watermelon out of the garden. Our soils in NY. produces some of the best tasting produce in the world. I use to plant those small yellow ones.Going to pick up a couple flats of reduced tomatoes and peppers. One for our family and one for the turkey and rabbit family, LOL.1 point

whether or not you see any wear, I would change it every 2-3 years, I just changed the one on my Hoyt that was about 3-4 years old and saw a marked improvement in speed.....I guess they stretch over time, I won't wait that long in the future.1 point

Legalizing the crossbow will cause the populations in these wmus to be in check? It does nothing to solve property access. Not one thing. The very basic thought process to rationalize that reasoning is probably the same that caused you to shoot a deer at a distance longer than you practiced with your crossbow and then post about it a billion times like it was destiny and perfectly acceptable. Scary. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

I formed a militia of two yesterday. The g/f and myself. We have taken up water balloons in defense of the cost of buying a home. It's on leased land and will proudly throw water balloons and anyone who comes on our lot without permission! We don't own the land, but our home is on it! So we are making a stand! LMAO!1 point

Lol- I'll have to ask my sister what kind of pants they were! That was on opening day of deer season and my ol' man wouldn't let me out of the house with a gun unless I was head to toe in BO. Since my pants were in the laundry and I really wanted to hunt, that was my only option! I laugh every time I see that pic,lol Thanks for all the compliments!1 point

That is special. The only vulture nest I ever found was also in a barn. Some think they are ugly. I think I want to be fed to them when I die.1 point

Ha! Well... that screen name started on a Harley site years ago when I rode a Fat Boy, now sadly it is becoming a nick name that fits me! No flip phone obviously. We have a photographer and a videographer on staff, so I grabbed them and we went out to take the shots and some footage.1 point

Haha- wasn't sure if I wanted to drop this one here or in the "pink" post! Pretty sure this one goes back to '89-'90. What a way to remember my first coyote!1 point

When the farmer I lease to was here working the fields, I asked him to work up an acre for me in the duck pond field. He hit it with his chisel plow, then with the discs. He saved me lots of time and fuel! I'm going to put brassicas in there. Also, I worked up a strip in front of this plot and another to plant Egyptian wheat and sorghum to act as a screen to allow me to get in and out undetected. Screen for new plot Screen for old plot1 point

Just grilled up some cube steaks on the grill and had baked potatoes to go with. Was in Corning for a soccer game until 630. We won 5-2. Girls are 7-0 with one game left and have out scored opponents 31-4.1 point

The most gruesome wounding is the head shot that misses and take out the jaw. But of course you don't miss right?1 point

Head shots. got ya. Have you ever missed while taking that head shot?1 point

In America, domestic extremists are a bigger risk than foreign terrorism By David Alpher George Mason University http://rockrivertimes.com/2016/06/01/in-america-domestic-extremists-are-a-bigger-risk-than-foreign-terrorism/ I have spent nearly 15 years studying how the risk of violence grows within societies around the world, and running programs designed to stem the tide. I have seen rhetoric like this used to mobilize violence in countries like Iraq and Kenya. This same dynamic, I argue, is taking shape within American society now. If it continues, it represents a greater threat than anything we face from terrorist groups outside our own borders. I know many won't read past the first line because it's been written by a college professor but don't say you haven't been warned1 point
