My nephew is spending the week fishing the Catskill. Do to work I couldn't make the trip . But he is having a good time camping and fly fishing with a friend . Says the fishing has been tough but he is getting some nice ones . Just called me to brag . They are taking a break do to thunder storms and hard rain . Hasn't sent me a pic of the big bow he got this morning . The brown was from a spot I gave him to get away from all the memorial day weekend crowd on the willow. The big bow was from a spot I gave him in the Delaware. He has come a long way from the 12 year old that couldn't sit still while I taught him proportions and techniques for the traditional Catskill fly patterns.

There's that word NEED again. And we are talking about a purely protective item. What if the Gov said you can no longer put a safe room in your house because you "could" hide from authorities? Or if they said you could no longer own a safe because you could hide things inside that they want access to? Where does it stop? I would also like to add that if the Gov (State or Fed) wants to continue raising the age of everything to 21 they had better plan on changing the rules for the military and selective service. The hypocrisy of saying "You can't buy a gun, or cigarettes, or a beer, but you are old enough to be drafted and sent to some foreign country to fight and die to defend the "rights" that you are not allowed to enjoy" should bother everyone who has a real conscience.

Why are we still even talking about COVID, what a joke it is right now. Nobody dying and very mild symptoms. Everyone needs to just move and and live life

Even if we believe all of the COVID deaths are correctly coded (I don't believe the numbers are this high), the chart below shows exactly what we/conspiracy theorists said all along. Covid will have its ebbs and flows regardless of vaccines, masks, lockdowns, etc.

I see no difference between vaxxed and unvaxxed as far as getting covid and symptoms. And thats with a pretty good sample size. Ive known dozens of people that had or have covid the past few months and its mild for just about all of them. My father in law is having a real tough go of it but hes 82 and diabetic. I know I will regret getting involved in this discussion but.... I already had arguments with some family members this weekend so I might as well keep the trend going. I believe that statistics can prove banning guns does not = lower murder rates. I always go back to the argument, if passing laws work, why don't they just pass a law that makes murder illegal?? Answer: because criminals don't care about laws!!! Most murders in our major cities are committed with handguns, and those same cities have the strictest gun laws in the country. I also strongly object to the idea that a purely defensive item, such as body armor should ever be made illegal. It amazes me how quickly individuals will surrender their rights to emotional. fact less, arguments. Or to the argument of "why would anyone NEED that". Our rights are not based on the premise of individuals having to show Need. Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety. 12U won again last night. They are now 7-1. My daughter is still without a hit but the pitchers they faced yesterday where not good. The first pitcher hit 3 out of the first 4 batters she faced and was pulled. The other pitchers struggled to get the ball anywhere near the plate so my daughter struck out once and was walked 4 times. Tonight is 8U if the rain holds out and it does not get canceled.

Sore throat was annoying but it only lasted a few days. The coughing isnt too bad most of the time, but its got its annoying moments. All in all, its not too terrible. I feel like im on the back end of it already

Gov. Kathy Hochul and her Democrat leaders in the Legislature, announced a sweeping 10-bill package that again stomps on New York gun owners, while doing nothing to enhance public safety. This package includes legislation to further restrict magazines by eliminating grandfathering. They want to raise the age for purchasing a long gun and strengthen “red flag” laws. They have a “clearinghouse bill” so Draconian with its registration and record-keeping requirements that it will drive every dealer out of the state. Under their gun grab, they want to require a license to simply buy a semi-automatic firearm. This package is topped off with microstamping, a scheme which has not been successfully implemented in a single state and has nothing to do with any of the criminal acts they are purportedly trying to prevent. All of this is an indictment against the SAFE Act, and now they are doubling down on the same failure. They told you 9 years ago that their gun control would make the streets safe. It didn't, and now they are back with 10 more bills! While exploiting tragedy to pass their gun ban agenda, they have completely turned their backs on New Yorkers. They have left thriving cities to decay. Even more incredible, there is not one, single school safety bill in the mix. That is disgraceful! Please contact your state Senator and Assembly member today, and respectfully request that they oppose ALL gun control bills. The last scheduled session date is Thursday, June 2. They aim to ram this package through the legislative process and have it signed into law by the end of the week.

IMO, i think you should be able to go buy whatever you want anytime you want. I don't see his purchase anything out of the norm for someone that might be looking for home protection or anything like that..... BUT, how was he able to purchase any type of gun when he was arrested previously for threatening to shoot up a school? You do something like that you should be eliminated from ever being able to purchase a firearm, what is a NICS check actually checking? IMO, he shouldn't have been able to purchase those guns in the first place and should have been arrested again for trying.....Every time there is a shooting we see that laws that are already on the books are not enforced and all the mistakes that were made leading up too it..... I'd like to know where this kid got the money for two rifles and 1000 rds of ammo. That isn't cheap these days....

Had a trio of Toms come within 60 yards of me and would not commit to my two hen decoys. Another 20 yards and I would have swung on them. There were in the field for a good 45 minutes before they got that close, so they were not spooked. They stayed on the far side of the field and eventually met up with 2 more hens. They all fed for half an hour or so, and then went back into the woods. I circled around and found them in an uncut alfalfa field with just their heads barely above the grass. I snuck in within 50 yards but had no shot on them. They again wandered off and I never saw them again. I did see a young buck with horns sprouting up above his ears, so already looking forward to the next season. Congrats to @WNY Bowhunter - way to make it happen!!

While body armor stops a handgun round it still can't feel good to take a 9mm or .45 round to center mass. Would it have stopped him?? We will never know..... Was it confirmed that the security officer hit the shooter with body armor in Buffalo or only that they exchanged fire? A hand gun is no match for a person armed with a rifle, like you said, even with a 357 you can't hold a group past 30 yds and that isn't in a panic situation....Now, having said that, I would rather have a handgun against a rifle than nothing at all. At least a teacher would have another option other than begging and trying to shield kids with his/her body..... I would bet that very few if any of us could hit center mass on a target the distance of a typical school hallway which is much farther than 30 yds at my daughters school with any handgun we would daily carry. But again, i would rather have that than nothing. I have no idea what the answer is......It isn't gun control, or new laws, that i am sure of.... I mentioned i was at a band concert last week for a friend daughter that is 10. Hundreds of people on the football field and 3 officers there. Two sheriffs and a state trooper. While i am glad they were there, if a shooter with a rifle walked onto the football field and started shooting, or started shooting from the woods, what are those 3 LEO's going to do without a rifle on hand? The shooter can hit quarters or half dollars at those distances and the LEO's would be lucky to hit the broad side of a barn with a 9mm at 100 plus yards.... Wish i had the answers.....The only one i can come up with, is get rid of the evil before it comes out of someone....We always see all the red flags after the fact....that should have been obvious....

I want to be able to put my hands on anything and everything it will take to protect myself, my family and my loved ones and if we keep on this path, it will happen sooner than later. In a year and a half we can't feed our babies, or afford to put fuel in our cars/trucks. What is the next year and a half going to bring with these idiots in charge? Maybe i should order some now.....better to have it and never need it than to need it and not have it!

Looking good, i always waited before staining pressure treated a year to let the moisture drop. Nearlyhave min complete now ,batton boards when dry and windows and railing... oh and a corner shelf for the senior in camps coffee..lol
