  1. Here she is fellas all clean for now, traded in my smaller 9 yr old Massey for this larger framed, larger tires, more HP Massey Ferguson. Nice feature is that the newer Masseys now use skid steer attachments so bucket, plows and other front end attachments are interchangle with the likes of skid steer, bobcat etc. Shes much bigger then my prior massey so the bucket needs to be stored separately as the tractor wont fit in the shed with it on. I havent mowed with it yet but i assume visibility without the bucket out front is much better. And if needed it only takes a few minutes to get the bucket hooked up. Hoping to use her next season to change up some of my food plots.

  5. Had a smoked ham steak with roasted garlic and Italian seasoned taters and some sweet corn. No plate pic. Trying desperately to empty the freezer prior to this fall but it's full of pig, deer, and turkey. Still working through vac packed garden veggies from last summer too. Garden starting to produce now too. Horrible problem to have I know. I buried a rubbermaid tote with some of the thick cut smoked bacon at the bottom as a constellation prize. lol Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

  21. Personally this looks to me like it can turn into some trouble and ill feelings, from the hired hand's perspective you have already caused him lose one of his hunting spots, granted he should not have been there without having permission. So the farm hand has to retreat to his employer's land where he does have permission and has to hunt there only. Now you are wanting to leave the spot he had to leave and move in on the spot he has left, I would not think he will be too happy about it, something his employer will have to think about if they want to keep their help happy as farm hands these days do not grow on trees. This is the kind of stuff I would avoid like the plague!

  22. I would ask permission and see what happens. It doesnt make you look greedy, it makes you look like a guy that wants to do things the right way. The farm hand doesnt own the property, so there is no reason to ask him/her for any type of permission unless the landowner says that you need to. I would not say anything negative about the farm hand to the landowner, and would not mention his stand that was on the land he didnt have permission to be on. Just take the high road. Good luck, the worst they can say is no.

  27. We had a bit of a hodge podge John. I used Frigid Forage big n beasty blend with some whitetail institute clover at my place. In mendon, we used the same blend that Phade bought last year at tractor supply (don't recall name but it worked great). He was able to grab 2 more bags this year plus what I had left of the frigid forage. Now just hoping for some more rain.

  28. I would have liked to have held off for 10 day more days or so but I had the tractor when I had it and rain was coming so I planted this last weekend. Hopefully is works out. The mix sounds close to what you are using John.

  31. I dont think it bothers a deer so much in the middle of winter when food is scarce, but if i was competing with neighbors I would try not to plant much earlier than need to. As bulbs grow bigger they become less palatable, vs younger baseball sized bulbs. Again, in the middle of winter and with no other bulb plots around you probably dont have an issue. On my end, I compete with many neighbors who plant bulb/winter plots as well. I try to keep my bulb planting dates around the 1st of August in Central Steuben county. I seeded mine Friday 7/20 this year because i wont have the time around the first of the month. They were also calling for rain this weekend and I wanted to make sure i had bulbs with an earlier planting vs the chance of no bulbs with a later planting. My winter plots this year are PTT, GHR, Rutabaga and Kale. Most Turnips need around 60 days to mature. some more, some less. But having to be planted in middle of summer when most places are dry. If you are within the end July Early august time frame when rain is near... plant on. Rain is more important than timing sometimes

  43. Spraying is all done. Put a heavy coat of gly and 2-4D down this afternoon. I’m gonna let it set for 2 weeks and then get the seed in the ground. Stopped at Turners yesterday and picked up fertilizer, winter rye, Ladino clover, rape, purple top turnips and Daikon radish. I also ended up with an extra 30lbs of Ladino clover seed that my buddy had left over from last year, so I’m going to seed all of my trails with that as well. When I do the tilling, my buddy offered to let me use his tiller, so I’m going to try that and see how it goes. Hopefully there won’t be too many rocks down there. I do T want to spend the day replacing shear pins lol.

  44. If you reload or know someone who does, use a bullet puller to make the round inert. Spray the inside of the cartridge with WD40 to soak the primer. You can use the powder, as fertilizer for your garden! Toss the rest in the trash or recycle bin.

  46. He certainly didn't support "Limited" 2nd Amendment rights either. He said the right could be regulated, but on a very limited basis that conforms to the individual liberties the founders intended. He was not a supporter of bans on handguns, concealed carry, ANY semi-auto firearm or ANY large capacity magazines. No right is unlimited. But no right is currently more restricted then those defined by the 2nd Amendment. Scalia was very much opposed to the majority of those restrictions. About the only restrictions he ever verbalized supporting, were on true military only type weapons, such as full auto and explosive devices. Even those he felt should only require a permit to possess.
