  4. I get numerous PMs about this topic as I have mounted quite a few deer for members of this forum over the past 4 years. Once again, due to time constraints with family, work and trying to fill my own tags...I will only be able to take in a very small number of deer this fall. There will be a small price increase over last year as the suppliers continue to raise their prices. Thanks and good luck! Sent from my SM-S767VL using Tapatalk

  5. It's the last weekend before the season starts and I always make sure I take my wife out to dinner. Doesn't hurt to wine and dine her before the season starts. She sees right through it because she knows what time of year it is. Lol

  8. Started pretty slow yesterday but hit an hour long frenzy and the fish were chomping! It is probably the coolest bite in NY in my opinion, catching salmon in 20ft of water on thundersticks, casting. Should only get better the next few weeks! Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk

  10. Double tarped and winterized. Live from the water is done for me. Hardly went out this year. Been crazy busy doing other projects. But next year will be different! Almost ready to hunt now. Some of the best fishing of the year is yet to come. Good luck, and tight lines to all heading out!

  14. Thread is about a false report claiming that Trump said soldiers are losers. I think you may be immaterial to the discussion.

  15. I've killed half of my bucks in October and probably a third of them since moving to 10/1 between 10/1 and 10/20. Including a very old buck on opener in 2012. Seems crazy to not take advantage of known patterns when there has been no related hunting pressure.

  19. I voted for Trump based primarily on his anticipated SCOTUS appointment. Expected one, was hoping for two. Three is just to good to be true. We might actually end us with a SCOTUS that rules based on the Constitution and not legislating from the bench or pushing their personal views when Trump gets his next 4 years.

  21. Finally got around to picking up my 2019 Gun buck back from @WNY Bowhunter Phenomenal works as always! As long as he is doing shoulder mounts, he'll have my business! Hands down. It is by far the best, cleanest, highest quality shoulder mount on my wall. Thank you sir!

  35. I don't start getting serious til after the 15th or so but spend as much time in the woods the first part of the month as I can simply because it is a beautiful time of the year. The weather is the main factor for me as far as hunting the first two weeks. I just cannot sit in a stand and swat bugs because it is to warm. A little chill in the air is what sparks my interest. Nothing like getting out in the morning with a nice cool temperature and then having it warm up by late morning or mid day. It just doesn't feel right deer hunting when it is warm. The first two weeks I try to spend more time scouting than hunting. After a morning sit I will do some scouting looking for changes that occur and evidence of the up coming rut and try to plan accordingly.

  36. It's funny how observations impact the decisions we make. We all have those kinds of decisions. Hot days do not rule me out. The oldest buck I've killed was that one on 10/1 and it was 70 that day. My 2015 buck was a t-shirt sunny day. The biggest buck I've ever seen on the hoof while I was in the stand was on a day where it was very warm; Moog had a t-shirt and lightweight Adidas track pants on because he didn't have gear light enough to be wearing in the heat. I unfortunately know that deer scored 176 and I saw him at like 230-3PM in blazing sun. I can't say I enjoy hunting those warm days - especially when I'm tired and that warm sun hits in mid afternoon. Ugh. Sleep city. But I do push through it.

  44. I also have a cab, that I thought I would hate but, the fan with windows out keeps it cool-ish in the summer and it's fantastic when it's winter. The time I really loved having it was when I popped a hydraulic line on the loader and fluid went everywhere, except on me. Gotta watch the brush when driving through the woods but we have defined trails so it's not a major issue. They are not a necessity but definitely come in handy Sent from my LM-V405 using Tapatalk
