What do you think is the most prevalent game violation during deer season?

These two go hand and hand but I think using another persons license (wife,sister) to tag a second buck in a certain season  and not reporting harvested deer.

but using another tag or not reporting both suck. I do sort of wish you could get 2 buck tags and use them how you wish though. Would rather stick 2 with an arrow than go sit during gun. However, I understand why this is not the case.

I will say incorrectly filled out tags.  If you forget to put down the date, or other mistake on your tag, you will get a summons.  The summons may not be as big as for other more serious violations, but I think there are more summonses issued for incorrectly filled tags than for all others.

absolutely shooting before and after legale times, I'll bet 70 to 80%  of bowhunters push the limit

private land By far not filling out tag immediately. Can't say I know anyone that does , usually wait till back at camp before deer is hung, so much easier to write/cross out date at table. Public not filling tag out correctly/completely. I think everyone if checked could get a ticket in their life not doing it properly 100% of the time

yeah. i actually almost lost a tag once by not securing it right and had to back track and search for it on the trail. From then on out I give it a good once over, but filling it out back in the barn happens too.

You guys know you dont have to put the tag on the deer until you get it back to camp, or main mode of transport, right? You just have to fill it out in the field.

With the relatively few DEC officers that there are around, I think mighty few actually ever get caught for shooting before or after legal time.  Probably the easiest violation not to ever get caught doing.

The plastic tags don't fill out well with a ball point pen anyways. Sometimes I wish they never got rid of the paper ones.

The most common violation is not reporting your harvest. 40% compliance or so and 242,000 deer killed is 145,200 violations right there.
