Then I "passed" on 8 deer during my trip up north. One was broadside pooping in a backyard.

Debating on an evening sit or just waiting till my day off Thurs. Vaca 4-5 day weekends begin next thurs-sun and I'm glad I saved my time till then, cams have been slow.

I don't even know any real predator hunters back home. There are some near me.  I live about 5 miles southeast of Fiddlehead brewery. But that's over an hour from Central VT.  Sucks, cuz now I don't dare bowhunt that spot.  

You lost me at Fiddlehead...mmmmm no jk. Their original is a good beer. Been to the brewery a few times.

 

It would not stop me from bowhunting there in the morning for sure. Just take good shots on relaxed deer, Don't let Wiley win!

Drove past the farms this morning on the way home from a doc appointment around 9:45.  Deer were all over the place. 4 different fields had smaller bucks looking over a few does. Watched a spike pester a small doe for a few minutes until she reared up on her hinds flailing her fronts at him, lol.   

Wasn't planning on hunting this afternoon, but, I just might break out the ThermaCELL and head out around 3pm.

9th time out for the big olBirds. A no go.  Cynthia and,I were out over 3 hours on a multiple use area.

   We did have some action with a Snapping Turtle who really should be looking for a likely place in the mud under a pond to spend the Winter.

  Here he is below. Cynthia scooted him back into the Pond.

 Nice.  Here is my Book of Poetry   below published in 2014- the year,I joined this site. It was my 4th Book . My first 3 were Turkey Hunting Books published  way back in 2011 + 2012. Broke even.  All my manuscripts  were hand written.  Very Fun Project from many years ago.

79 out. Skipped morning hunt and doing same this afternoon. Don’t want to have one spoil if gotta leave it overnight had I actually see something. Friday am looks ok

Despite it's toasty idc. I've got time as I worked from home today. Last time I was in this spot I passed three 2.5 yr olds and one 3.5 yr old buck, and took a mature doe in two sits.
Lush green stuff behind me, creek and swamp bottom in front of me, and standing corn to my left. Perfect marginal wind for something cruising.

75° and in a tree. Wind outta the S/SE. In a pinch point between two bedding areas. Swamp to my south and one to my NE.
