Ok asking for expierenced help. 9 am shot a doe, didnt think of the arc of the arrow, hit a branch and it dropped into her paunch. Found the arrow, watery blood, tracked about 10 yards found bloody mess sprayed on the base of a tree with bloody chewed acorns. Put the arrow there and walked out. Plan giving 6 hrs. Never gut shot a deer. Is 6hrs sufficient?

Hey, I work til 5 and not too far from you. Could be that way by 5:30. Can bring daughter who has eyes like a peregrine  Message me if you want some help.

Nice shooting, that’s a bummer. Usually in bow they get close enough but that one is tough. You could call the dec snd maybe catch s break? Doubtful but you never know

Thanks.

Bittersweet is better than Bitter.

I arrowed this deer at 10 yards but I did not see that antler, it was thick with green leafed beach and I was drawn for an eternity so when the brown rectangle entered the lane I fired.

Trying to fill all my dmps dmap and doe archery tag in bow seadon and then I'll just hunt bow through the regular/late season.  Prolly head to PA for some buck hunting too.

Beautiful opening morning in 9H. Saw 2 foxes under my stand. That is a first. Sunrise was glorious. Just after legal light a well built Buck walked out of the corner I was anticipating some action from. However, he hugged the property line, went up further and then entered the property about 30 yards too far away. I did not get a good look at the head gear due to leaves etc but he looked a good'un based on body size.

I may move a stand this afternoon to get in on that side of the morning action. I was covered in Doe n Fawns after that for a while. I think the Buck may have been chasing the Doe about a little ways above me.

Turns out wife was traipsing about the woods looking for me latter half of the morning.. My phone was on silent and I was not answering. She figured I had fallen to my doom, bless her socks. Probably ruined the hunt however .

I will probably hit up the same stand this evening.

What a beautiful morning! 39 degrees with a touch of frost in spots. Jumped 3 out of a field on the way in. At 7:15 had 3 bucks and a doe come across the field to far away. A nice big 8, a nice basket 6, and a super wide short rack that I couldn't count the points. Saw another doe @ 8:15 about 200 yds. away in the soybeans and another doe in the neighbors field on the way out for a total of 9 deer.  Heard a flock of turkeys, saw/heard geese flying, and didn't see another hunter. Good start to the season:imsohappy:. Best news is the neighbor was not in his stand when the three bucks and the doe walked right under it. :taunt:

Mine is a great hunting partner except she doesn't hold still or stop talking, we have fun tho I think she is coming out with me tomorrow. Good luck to both of you!

Now on to winterizing the boat for the rest of the day. Throw some steaks on the grill too. Next outing for me will be Saturday. Three day weekend comming up too! Will keep hunting the fringes, seems to be good action so far. Save the good spots for later in the month, when my grandson can make it out. Though he could of had his choice of chip shots this morning.

Also depends on the size of the deer.bigger mature deer will die harder, I’d go back an hour or 2 before dark. No need to rush

Lol.  Grunted, bleated coughed, threw sticks and finally after laughing and yelling it got up and bolted.

Turns out neighbor did not shoot the shooter.  Got spooked.  Shot a buck with him.  We found him.

Looks like a nice buck still, one I would shoot for sure maybe today even but certainly later in. Hard pic to tell

Got a few guys gonna help track em. Its already been 6 hours since I shot em. Gonna head in around 3:30. Praying that he's down!!

Still a bit early. No need to rush. If you do have multiple guys helping, one of them should be dedicated to looking up (for the deer) not down for blood. Everybody should have a bow too, just in case. Go get a coffee and give it another hour or two
