My buddy keeps texting me pictures from Western PA.  He is covered in bucks, and only has doe tags in his pocket.  Poor guy!

I just Looked at PA regs, and gun doesn’t open till Nov 27 at the earliest.

Well first want to know if anyone shot a deer with a crossbow on Lapp rd or Wolcottsville rd today or last night. Had this little guy come hobbled through and was suffering. I put one through the heart to end his misery. Pulled a small arrow out of his back in picture. Just cause ya hunt with a crossbow doesn’t mean you shouldn’t practice. Feel bad I had to waste my tag but wasn’t going to leave to suffer. Called DEC they didn’t give a crap.

Accidental shooting.   He was sighting in and the buck walked right in front of the bullet.

Well after that buck came through grunting in the dark and another deer passed behind me in the dark while waiting for daylight to start an all day sit, I finally saw my first deer at 10:15. A borderline shooter 8Pt that i decided to let pass at 30 yds. Nothing since that so have been sitting in the tree thinking that I'll prob regret that decision. But now just had a shooter buck bird dogging through on a mission out of range, 75 yds. Not a huge buck but a nice shooter 8Pt to me. Was oblivious to bleats and grunts I threw at him hoping to pull him in just continuing on his way. So they are up on their feet.

Wow, they must be monsters.....!!!! I think they were all at least 2 1/2 back in 2011.....   8 1/2 yr old deer...maybe they are on the downswing....:)

How do you know it was a crossbow?  I don't know too many hunters that never wounded a deer.

So I am sitting a 7acre woodlot and they are combining the cornfield now.  Only cover around and I thought deer were supposed to be running for their lives right to me. Perhaps I misunderstood this hunting strategy.
