landtracdeerhunter 2199 Posted October 31, 2019 Breeding in 8G. Saw the coolest looking buck fawn with white hairy front legs yesterday.
goosifer 1970 Posted October 31, 2019 I haven't seen many deer on this camera, much less bucks, much less bucks during the day. Would it be reasonable to assume that this guy was out in the middle of the day because he's looking for love? TheHornHunter 663 Posted October 31, 2019 8H and 8F: I'm seeing tons of new scrapes and rubs every time I go in the woods. Also seeing lots of chasing but just from 1-2 year olds. Still not seeing a ton of mature buck daylight movement but when I do they aren't paying much attention to does and are tearing up scrapes or trees. The one exception is i watched a giant buck tend a doe in a cut bean field a couple days ago. I watched them walk in from a couple hundred yards and they were never more than a few yards apart and he just bedded up and watched her feed right in the middle of the field. I'm hoping this cold front will help kick things into gear... afternoons have had better action for me but that should start to switch to mornings - or at least that's how it's gone historically. two 10s 175 Posted November 4, 2019 8A. The bucks have been hounding the doe all morning here. Grunting, slobbering and chasing. Something clicked today. Must be a hot doe in the neighborhood. Only bad part... they are moving to fast. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
Cory 935 Posted November 4, 2019 Just found my first rub still no scraps or chasing going on in 9m. Hopefully this weekend.
knehrke 183 Posted November 5, 2019 Saw lots of chasing over the past couple of days, as well as a big guy tending a doe on a field edge (in 8A). It is tough to say the rut isn't happening based on one set of eyes...my buddy was 300 yards away from the circus, but didn't see a deer all morning. If the doe have disappeared from the fields, then they're hiding from the bucks and it's game on. That means now.
Arcade Hunter 2267 Posted November 5, 2019 I did see my first rub in 8G this past Sunday morning but saw nothing moving. I have to think there are "pockets" of rut activity popping up. I need more time in the woods Quote Wyoming county 9H and 9N
Biz-R-OWorld 20905 Posted November 5, 2019 Save it for Saturday - Monday for me. Today and tomorrow should be crazy wind. Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkIt worked out for me on Saturday. For 3N id say it’s on. Buck activity has increased. I saw 3 bucks on 11/2. Dad seen bucks on 11/3 and 11/4. On my way out of woods dragging my buck on 11/2, i saw a line of rubs that were not there the week before. Dad has since found a few more new scrapes and rubs. My buck made a scrape before he hit the next scrape when I shot him. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
grampy 17129 Posted November 5, 2019 Hilltowns of 4H. The bucks were up and moving over the weekend. But the majority of doe are not ready yet. The bucks will come close to them, but the doe are not interested "YET"!! Rubs and scrapes are at their highest point, and seem to be everywhere. These next few days leading up to the 'magic' day of November 10th, and the few days after, will be the real deal! Get out as often, and for as long as you can! With the colder, and clear weather coming, this years rutting action looks to just explode!! This will be the best time to catch a lovesick mature buck out in the open. Also warn your families, that car - deer accidents will be at the highest point as well.

Arcade Hunter 2267 Posted November 6, 2019 I've seen a bunch of rubs showing up and a 6 or 8 pt cruising nose to the ground in the afternoon... 8G. Should be a great weekend! Quote Wyoming county 9H and 9N
NonTypical 1935 Posted November 6, 2019 Bucks were on the move all morning looking for does. Daytime activity has finally picked up.

If you have several bucks on cam at night, this WILL be the weekend, to see some daytime movement! Set up near travel funnels and pinch points. Also, hunt the doe! The bucks will be close to them! Could see buck movement at any time of the day too. So be out as much as ya can. On the way to work this morning, had a nice buck with nose to the ground cross Rt.158 in front of me, from the big corn field. At the intersection of 146 and 158, a small buck was standing in the open in the grassy area to the left. I wish I could be out there instead of work! But will be out with the compound in the morning. Doing what the bucks are doing. Looking for a doe! Sunday is the best day of the year!!! The "Magic Day" of November 10th!! And the weather will be perfect!
Canis Latrans 81 Posted November 10, 2019 Haven't seen any scrapes and just a few rubs scouting 4H. Not much movement and not many tracks. Could we still be a few days behind this year Grampy?

NonTypical 1935 Posted November 10, 2019 After seeing a flurry of activity earlier in the week, action seemed to drop off the last 2 days, even with the cold weather. I’m starting to think that we are starting to see bucks lock down with does. There was still some chasing, but movement has been way down, at least for me it was. All of the bigger bucks have gone pretty silent on cams, and have only seen smaller bucks on the move looking for does.
LI-BROWNING 5 Posted November 10, 2019 Seen a few bucks chasing does. A lot of road kill deer here on Long Island. Hoping for same activity next weekend upstate.
Timeless 27 Posted November 10, 2019 No sign of rut activity where I am in 3M. A couple scrapes that are open every year by now are not, and I’ve been hunting all day and have not seen a single deer. There are a few new rubs, but nothing noteworthy. I suspect I missed it this year, which is okay. Hopefully the bucks are out of lock down come opening day of the gun season. Canis Latrans 81 Posted November 11, 2019 I scouted about 2 miles in 4h. No scrapes. I know a few places that have scrapes every year. Normally I would have seen about 15 scrapes altogether but there are none. Saw two rubs. Half an hour north and there are scrapes around like normal. ApexerER 2914 Posted November 11, 2019 While it seems like everyone on here is seeing chasing and Moog is even posting deer porn, here in 4K I'm still not seeing any sign of chasing. Hunted all Day Saturday and Sunday on the same oak ridge that overlooks a creek bottom with thick bedding on other side of creek. I have been seeing plenty of deer. Doe, Fawns still with their mothers. One that I have seen several times is still Nursing. Small spikes intermingled with the doe and all just eating acorns, no chasing. There are several scrapes on the ridge and there must be 30 Rubs in the creek bottom. I hope I am there when it turns on but I have still not seen anything other than deer eating acorns. The small bucks are ignoring the doe. Last week the big doe my buddy got didn't smell at all. Really thought this would be the weekend. Hoping to take Thursday and Friday off to hunt the last two days of crossbow before the gun opener Saturday.
Poppy 86 Posted November 11, 2019 Saw lots of road kill on Route 9G in southern Columbia and northern Duchess Counties. In the woods in 4Y, minimal rubs & scrapes, no chasing. Hope it kicks in next Saturday.
