Lawdwaz
My son's car needs a NYSI so I stopped at my garage of choice to check the availability of an appointment. As I pulled into the lot I noticed that there was plenty of parking spots, only one other car in the yard. Steve met me at the door and we chatted in the lobby. He had an open schedule.........WFO. Only a couple cars to work on tomorrow and not much after that so we dropped off the car late this afternoon. I've been a customer there for 29 years and known Steve since about 1983 when he was a Snap On Tool dealer and his garage has never been that slow. He said that fuel sales were down more than 30% and repairs were more. People are definitely driving way less and his business is showing it and sadly it's going to get worse. Similar stories welcome here...... Edited March 17, 2020 by Lawdwaz

Lawdwaz
Stopped at Wegman’s today. The feel I got was an “8am Sunday morning” crowd. Not many people at all......
The_Real_TCIII
I went to target and Wegmans today, neither were overly crowded. corydd7
I own a couple phone stores and the parent company mandated we have 11-6 hours. If we are found to be open beyond that our stores could be taken away. This is always my busiest time of year so I'm getting my ass kicked at the moment. The company will match February commissions which is pretty cool though. My employees are nervous going to work and customers are coming in wearing mask and gloves which freaks them out more. Life is such and I will adjust. At this point I'm just hoping everyone stays safe that I know. My wife who is a teacher is on paid vacation and already going stir crazy. catskillkid
My company provides building maintenance services for corporate office buildings. I'm being asked by our clients to hold off our services and not send our teams in until this pandemic dies down. This is going to be devastating for many small businesses. sodfather
Usually I’m booked up till June by this date. Phone has seriously slowed down. I’m trying to keep positive cause I’ve been through struggles before and things bounced back. But can’t help to get a little concerned

I saw numerous people at Wegman's wearing latex gloves and face masks.........ran into one customer and we both stuck our hands out take shake and then I said whoa, elbows only. He's a great guy and it breaks my heart not to greet him like I wanted to but he understands. A minute later we (my wife was with me) ran into a neighbor on her way out, that was a fast hello/good luck/see ya exchange.

Jeremy K
I haven't been to work since Feb 19th and wont return til april 20th ,I'm really interested what kind of rumours are currently swirling in the auto industry. My wife works at a state university and they were told not to report to work and work from home until notified otherwise. My son's daycare has shutdown until further notice. Swamp_bucks
Not me but my sister whos 22 works part time as teacher aide and bartender/waitress out of 2 jobs in 1 week. I know alot of people that have already been layed off till it dies down. Problem is in this area many of those small buisness will be done regardless. Red
I work for a flag store we're still getting sales but no where near what we normally do. We do a lot of work work colleges flags babes signs ect. With them being closed we lost a lot of our spring revenue. Not sure when we'll be able to bring our installer back or when the rest of us will get laid off until this settles down. Moho81
My wife is a travel agent and that industry is getting hit hard. She’s currently canceling more trips than she’s booking. She won’t see a commission check for a few months easily. We will have to be careful on spending but nothing major. We budget around her base pay and her commission checks where used for extras or to pay off bills faster. wolc123
The afternoon rush-hour traffic on Transit road was less that half of the usual, so Covid-19 ain't all bad news. It is also nice to get to spend a little more "quality" time with the kids after school, instead of just hauling them back and forth for sports, while they are on their smart-phones, and spending all their "free-time" on homework. I got to watch two movies with my daughter the last (3) nights. Watching "Guess who's coming to dinner" was today's homework assignment for her high-school film class. We helped the local economy a bit today, getting a new toilet installed in the kids bathroom, and a new beer-fridge delivered (Home-Depot got a little boost anyhow). It has got to be tough on the bars and food joints though. I can also relate to the slow-down in auto service. My car is getting close to being ready, but the miles are piling on less than normal without all those extra school runs.

Still working operations and reassigning staff to support roles and being sure our vehicle fleet remains operational and disinfected. Banks here are all drivethru now, county office building is closing all services as of friday (except for emergency services), Casino that employ 5000+ is closed, etc etc etc
turkeyfeathers
I got the I’m outta work minimum 2 weeks text yesterday. On a normal day I’m in direct close quarters contact with hundreds upon hundreds of people Working the retail floor , selling them the range balls and informing them how to use the Toptracer golf gaming system in our dome. I’m ok with it. Not much I can do.

Don_C
As of Monday we closed our building for a month. Working from home, thankfully I can do this and be productive. So many can not and I don't know how people will get by financially. I am very fortunate, my company is paying us, but that's not going to go on forever if this gets worse. We are all effecting business in a big way, personally I am postponing a driveway that was going in in a few weeks. I ordered a new O/U shotgun on Saturday at my LGS, called them Monday and cancelled it, thankfully they hadn't gotten around to placing the order yet. I was planning on starting to resurface my deck this weekend, now its on hold. My wife and I are putting everything on hold until we know things will get back to normal financially.
