BizCT
Can't be roosting too far awayAbout 50-60yds from that camera. Is it a bearded hen?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
mlammerhirt
That's a tough one.....definitely looks like a beard....but I can't say 100% Jake or Hen. Same problem on my cams....but with spypoint you can request it to be upgraded to HD for .10.....and it sometimes helps. mpavlus
Had a very interesting morning. Snuck into woods early. Looked around and said. That doesn't look like a turkey. Yup, it's a bear. 5 seconds later this bear ran straight at me. I can't post the video but these screens shots show how close he came before I stood up and scared him away. The morning hunt went well too.

2012_taco
No internet all weekend so I'm late as usual to the show! I went with a friend to Birdsall and hunted State land. Real windy Friday so no roosting although we tried. Saturday we hike 2 different areas and not a gobble, but at a 3rd spot I did manage to get a hen going and called in a hen and Jake to 60 yds. no shot opportunity. Sunday we got to that spot early and heard 2 maybe 3 gobbling on the roost but they were a ways off and on posted property. So we set up near the property line and called, I know they responded to me so I decided to just sit it out for a while. About 9:30 I decided to try a few clucks and Bam! 1 gobbled real close. He was coming in fast, straight in front of me. I was patiently waiting for him to keep coming and suddenly he turns and runs down the hill away from us. I turned to look at my buddie and he's fidgeting trying to get his gun in position! I'm sure that longbeard saw him move, Dam!
Five Seasons
I have tomorrow off but looks like rain and cloudy... just not sure if it's worth the effort, although my best bird came in the rain. At least it'll be warmer and not windy I guess. I've found the first 2 weeks, the first especially are the most effective at seeing birds so I don't want to waste the opportunity either. I'm a fair weather turkey hunter, I know, but I love sitting in the edge of that field when the warm sun crests over.

phade
We ended up sitting our other farm in Ohio yesterday. Hiked to a back corner of a field where we seen a few hens on our lone visit about three weeks ago. Not a darn peep through 9. Wondered if we should run n gun to a specific spot I thought might have action...decided against it and held tight in the blind. Got to 10AM and with the drive home we decided to call it a weekend and get cams set before we leave. I click into whitetail mode too easy...first cam spot done, head to the second spot which was where we debated moving to at 9...6 jakes come around the corner. Neither of us had our turkey gear. Dang. Ah well.

Buckmaster7600
Fun morning hunts! I called for my cousin this morning and he missed a bird at 10yds. called him in again but he didn’t get a clear shot. Went by another spot and saw some strut tees from the road. About 400yds from the corner of the property I have permission to hunt. Had to make a big loop around and called as load as I could, 5 minutes later I could see red heads coming down the hedgerow. There was at least 2 longbeards but they were bringing up the rear and he didn’t wait for them. His first bird in 15 years and he was pumped! The longbeards kept coming after he shot but I didn’t want to use my 2nd tag already at least not that way so I let them mosey off. Dropped him off at his house and went to another property and played cat and mouse with a long beard for a couple hours. 12 o’clock alarm went off before I got a chance at him.
