I am not saying I could do a better job, I respect the current moderator.  However, if they were to pass it on, and I was eligible, I would think about taking on that responsibility.  I guarantee they do more than what meets the eye, thats the typically the case, so that should be considered as well.  I feel this place is worth saving, not saying its going to fold up anytime soon, but the number of great people we ROUTINELY have here, is becoming more, and more rare by the day in my opinion.  I am not a Facebook guy, and I have zero issues with those who are, but it seems like Facebook groups are the new type of forum, that we experience here.  I was part of a forum years back, it shut down, and was extremely busy….all those great people you enjoyed communicating with….no clue who they are now.

Same here. I have 5, I would Ban Yesterday...

That’s not how it’s done on most heavily moderated forums . First they either move the topic to the correct area, or delete an inappropriate post, the poster may be sent a PM with the rules stated , but that’s it .

A poster who keeps at it multiple times will then get like a two week ban, some call it being sent to the troll hole . After that he may be gone ,depending on how he proceeds forward .

Others require one to have a certain number of posts before being able to post in certain areas , while still others you have to get approved to even read in some areas of the forum .  A knife forum I’m on is this way, there’s a self defense section that’s not visible ,to general members because when the masses are allowed in it goes South fast .

That’s fine Tracker , as long as the consequences for first time and minor infractions aren’t severe. About the only thing here that seems to be a constant issue are , guys who post political stuff in the general section ,or turn a post into a political one . There’s only a handful of those guys and a little guidance would correct that I think .

Click happy mods shut down websites ,then you'll have a perfectly functioning site with no members and no income. The guys who bitch about the topics being in the wrong spot know what's going on in the thread and still open and read anyway .

i opened the "good group" thinking it was gonna be pictures of some bucks!  Its a HUNTING forum not a political forum.  I might still click on those political topics and respond to them but theres no reason it has to be in everyones face all the time.

Dunno if youve noticed but some of the longtime folks that actually talk about hunting and outdoors are hardly on here anymore and its a big loss, at least to me.  I dont care if the same 8 guys want to argue politics all day but they should either take it to the political section or find a political site.  Most people log on here to get away from that sort of thing.

I def dont want Bill out banning people but some mod in play is sure needed.  Just some things need realignment and the current mods are and have been MIA.

but it is what it is.  If i get to the point i dont like it will just fade away, no biggie.  But there are some GREAT folks on here and ive made some good friends here as well, and would stay in contact with even if this site was gone.  But this place is def getting muddy, you have to see that.

Im all for several of those people that said they would Mod.   I considered it myself but my worry was i am not that computer savvy and on here most often from a phone.

What do we have sections for then?

I agree 100% with everything you brought up rob. And nomad is spot on too,it wouldn't take much for a course correction. Being a mod is not a very rewarding position I am sure but one is needed to police this playground a little.

In a perfect world I agree. There is always going to be a twit that has 5 minutes on the site And is going to troll his way to a reprimand and then beg forgiveness... 10 minutes later he will do it again claiming he didn't know ... even reminded of the stickies at the beginning of all the sections . When he gets whacked he will be begging all his friends to stick up for him he didn't do anything  all that bad ... the mod has it in for him ... blah blah blah.  In the end the twit has gotten a dozen warnings on and off record .. alienating half the members  driving away good people .

Lol we have all seen it ...
