  1. Hi guys i know i have mentioned house hunting, after almost two years I'm in the process of buying a place on 30 acres. I'm really excited to work on the place and make it our own. Me and my girlfriend walked it today and found plenty of deer and Turkey sign, excited for the next chapter in our lives!

  3. Helped me construct a bridge to span 14.5’ over a creek for my ATV. Will make things much easier recovering deer. No way I could have done it without his knowledge and muscle. Solid as a rock even with me on the ATV. Bob is just one of those friends that will do anything he can to help. His mentor program is just further proof Thanks much my friend. Hopefully we will be using it to recover a deer you kill there!

  7. Jenn, and I tried again this afternoon...no luck, but a good healthy walk which was nice. Its nice she will even go out in the woods, and look for deer antlers that aren’t even there. We went to the opposite side of the property I typically hunt, only found 3 rubs, during our slow 2 hr 1.10 mile walk....we did find a telephone poll that leads to a house deep in, that was scratched up by a bear, had hair on it face high. Pretty cool...

  9. Remember When? As a youngster I thought it would be great to catch something that would make it in the Genny record book. From The Utica OD's John Pitarresi Louis A. Wehle was, among other things, a brewer. He brewed Genesee Beer. He also was a very dedicated outdoorsman. One day, he put those things together, and the Genesee New York State Fishing Contest was born. I admit that Genesee wasn’t my favorite beer, but I still have a vivid and startlingly wonderful memory of the two ice cold bottles of Jenny that I received in partial payment for several hours of cleaning

  14. I entered a lake trout in 1975 taken from Keuka Lake that weighed 16 pounds 12 ounces...I got a certificate for my entry, but there were two other lakers taken from Keuka that year that were bigger, both weighing around 18 pounds...That was before the Lake Ontario Trout/salmon fishery developed.. That lake trout is still the biggest laker I have ever caught ( or seen) from the Finger lakes, although I know many bigger ones have been taken.. I caught it on a traditional style 5 leader Seth Green rig, fished by hand ( no rod)...It took a Sutton 31 and it took me a half hour to land

  15. After always hearing @Dom mention hamburger soup, it always sounded like something I just had to make. Coincidentally, yesterday my dad was talking about some different recipes he wants to try that he had found, for us to make while we are up at camp working. One was hamburger soup! So I had him send it to me, so I just threw a double batch together, for dinner, and lunches for the week. Super simple, easy, fast, and delicious! This is why this thread is my favorite...next time I will use fresh garlic, I typically do not like granulated unless its on meats, etc, but for ease of a quick simp

  19. People with rural or even exurban lives and lifestyles are much more difficult to influence and control. And people in cities can't even target practice in their back yards, so that's an added bonus. Always keep in mind that the primary goal of a Leftist is control. They want the power to tell others how to live. They have zero interest in making the country better in any way. They just want to control it. Watch closely any of the idiots currently queuing for the 2020 race. Out of the mouths of every one of them what you'll hear every couple of sentences is, 'This is what you should

  43. Back in the day......OMG I'm dating myself, I went to this elderly gentlemen's house and listened to his deer hunting stories. After an hour and a half he gave us our certificate. I swear to this day I have done everything by the book and never shot anyone! lol This was 40 years ago life was just so much simpler then.

  46. Three years from now, when I start collecting Social Security, I'll end all work relationships and sell my NY home and the property I rent. All the proceeds will be deposited in the bank and so will my SS checks. I'll get a debit card and pay any bills online. I'm gonna buy a custom Sprinter van, or maybe the big Ford van, and hit the road for at least a year, living out of the van. I don't have a wife, so I'm free to do anything I like. I have a daughter in Oregon, one in SC and a son in Texas now. I have friends and relatives in half the states in this country too. The plan is to see
