  1. So I decided to install the pro mount Can Am plow on my outlander. When the shop mechanics tell you it’s a PIA, believe them. No real instructions and the 2.5hr job took me all of 8hrs yesterday. Now I did have a few issues like stripped bolt heads on aftermarket A arm guards that had to be removed and while at it, I decided to replace the broken left footwell (quite the puzzle removing and replacing body panels) so I will say the 2.5hr job could be done in 4 if I had to do it again. Thank God I don’t. I like it. Seems solid and is very easy on/off and to operate. Will be perfect for NEXT YEAR! Since I had to remove skid plates, I did my best clean since she was new 4 years ago. I bet I had 25lbs of debris jammed in her. Of course that led to a full clean which then led to cleaning and power washing the garage for the spring / sale of the house. All in all a very productive Sat and Sunday! Also fixed a broken downspout that I hit when moving my old trailer. Don’t get that purple primer on your hands - FYI! Now sitting back, eating a salad and planning the next pre sale house project. Probably paint a few room even though the realtor said it wasn’t needed! Next weekend. I am sore and done for now.

  10. Although saving innocent lives is the single most important reason for me to vote Republican, there are a few other good ones, that may trump that, if you are hung up on pro-choice. How high would gas prices have to get, before you admitted that your vote for Biden was a mistake ? Would you rather see more or less of the globe controlled by Communists ? Do you enjoy owning guns and shooting sports ? What is your opinion on the current southern border situation ? Do you expect that the Democrats will do ok in the upcoming midterm elections ? Our other resident lefties (left field, versatile hunter, and gobbler chaser, and more) are also encouraged to answer these questions.

  12. He got the dead arch-liberal SCOUS justice RBG replaced, right at the tail end, with a strong conservative, had the Southern border very secure, and completely stripped ISIS of all of the territory that it controlled. You have got to be feeling a little remorse, over your Biden vote by now ? Would you if Taiwan falls to China ? If gas cost $ 10 per gallon by the fouth of July ? What would it take for you to admit that you goofed ?

  14. Just started some seeds last week. Tomatoes- sweet 100, beefsteak, purple Jalapeño and basil Cucumber(2 types), zucchini squash(green and yellow) beans and some other herbs to be planted directly in the ground later. I’m also going to try and reseed my very neglected lawn but I’ll save that for the Biz lawn thread if he’s still here after his move Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  16. Seems like it has good smoke flavor. I added onion powder when I made them but whether it was the onion or not it has the flavor. I smoked these cause when I cased them they were too fine grain from the sausage attachment on the grinder. So 1/2 the bunch came out like that. The other I ran through my regular sausage stuffer on the kitchen aid and I left it as fresh sausage in the freezer. This will be used with eggs, soups and stews, pizza toppings etc. Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk

  18. I was on Thompson's lake yesterday, still 17" thick and a nice 6" blanket of snow insulation on it. As a group we had 2 rainbow trout ,2 perch and a pickerel. My pickerel was 24" and 5 lbs!!! The eagle visited us and almost made off with my trout, but my buddy running towards it made him decide to pull up about 15 feet away . I was an awesome experience to have the eagle so close. Great day with friends and weather, fishing was slow. All my catches were within 10 mins. Stopped down to Collins Park to throw some more minnows in for 2 hours while my kid was at baseball practice. No action, but there the ice was still 11".

  19. 2nd year at gardening. Tried too much too late in the season last year. Built a grow box this year just waiting on my light fixture to arrive on Monday. The box will be horizontal and 50"x24"x21", should fit (4) 1020 trays with extra room for a few small pots. Trying (2) potato towers, 1 sweet potato, 1 blue potato The garden is (3) 3'x6' beds. Did soaker hose last year, which I didn't like much. Going drip line this year.

  24. One of my 4-H volunteers and I have been working on putting together a youth Muzzleloading and Heritage Arts program for some time, but it seems we keep hitting roadblock after roadblock. Our most recent issue was scheduling use of our range, as he works part time on the weekends and I have family/personal life to balance in addition to all of my after hours 4-H programs. We were getting very defeated, until we had the realization that we could do it during the work day if we aimed it at homeschool youth. After talking with some of my homeschool parents, this thing has taken off with a strong tailwind as we realized that the History and STEM components can be used to supplement their homeschool curriculum. I opened it up to our membership this afternoon, and already have 8 of our 12 spots filled, and get this, so far 1 boy and 7 girls. He is either going to feel really awkward or be on cloud 9 We’re going to be doing muzzleloading, leather working, wood working, a little black smithing, hawk and knife throwing and a variety of other things that I’m looking forward to learning and teaching. Anyways, I just wanted to share a bit of good news that has kind of invigorated me with our shooting sports program today. I’ll try to share some updates periodically.

  25. Greg Hertel Wyoming rancher and on the side Lion hunter has posted some of his adventures on my Airedale board. He has had some pretty good success this winter and I thought I would share some of his photos and a story over here. Al We took a couple of days off after the last run, dogs were tired and it was really really cold. I hiked a few drainages every day just to scout and see what was around. This morning it was -5 and clear. Right at daylight we headed up a route to the base of the Mesa that sits about the ranch. It was going to be a warmer, sunny afternoon and I knew it was going to be the last day of snow on the Mesa, so our plan was to check all along it this morning. I had my bluetick hound on a leash, Stitch and Etta were running loose. Etta was above me as we were approaching our high point and Stitch was across a gully checking out a small patch of juniper and cottonwood. All of a sudden he started barking like he does when looking at a grizzly. I turned Buddy loose and Etta went charging over there. They were all treeing hard as I approached to see a cat down low in a small cottonwood. As I approached, Stitch climbed up in the tree, which he usually never does. He was able to get right under the cat and grabbed its tail in his mouth and started pulling. I was videoing but quit when he got under the cat. The first picture shows him starting to climb up there. The cat came out of the tree and landed right on the rest of the dogs. I hit it with my ski pole and it took off and treed a short distance away. Buddy, my bluetick had a small cut on his leg but the rest were unmarked. Stitch was going nuts treeing but did not try to climb up that tree. I don't like them to climb up with the cats, too much can go wrong. Was a pretty exciting morning. Greg

  26. Was over the the farm yesterday and see a flock of 23 toms and jake's. Counted at least 8 toms. There were probably a few more. Hard to get a accurate count with them constantly moving around.

  27. Worked outside on next years firewood most of the day. Got a cord cut split and stacked today from trees I cut down about a month ago. Took a ride around the hill on sxs. Snow still quite deep on the north west side of hill. Found a nice antler (5 point with mass). Did not find the otherside. Seen 4 deer, and 3 deer while riding the trail. Was nice being outdoors and productive today.

  32. I have Asparagus and Celery germinating. Peppers will get started after dinner tonight. The big change this year is an eight foot wire garden fence being installed. After two years of fighting with the local deer heard it was time to spend some money on a real fence. Okra is a new one for me hope it grows well.

  36. One of the first bills this Congress tried to pass would have made permanent all the things that were full of fraud in the 2020 election. No voter ID required, ballot harvesting OK, same day voter registration, massive mail in ballots, little verification of mail in ballots and counting of late ballots. Basically, they wanted EVERY ballot received to be counted. Conservatives asked that only LEGAL ballots be counted. Conservatives were lambasted as racists for requesting only LEGAL ballots be counted. Anyone who cannot see the proposals from the left are designed to murder election integrity, is being willfully ignorant, while supporting their party's desire to steal elections. Just wait until the left proposes amnesty for the 11 million illegals that have entered the country recently, who are known to prefer the party that is promising lots of free stuff.

  43. Look folks, if you are trying to convince someone that Trump was a better President, and they argue with you after they have seen with their own eyes the death spiral Biden has put us in over the last 14 months, you have to realize you are dealing with a person suffering from a psychosis that cannot be helped. Three years from now, when the country is in another Great Depression, they will still hate Trump. Let it go.

  44. IT will be 2-3 times higher than last year. If you can find it. This is another good reason for people to get into no till and stop beating and scratching the soil. The air is full of fertilizer, the plants take this stuff in and by no tilling, you DO NOT disrupt the soils growing eco system. You plant big blends that feed soil and wildlife and you plant with the following planting season in mind as well, based off your seed blend.. Let Nature do the work for you.. And much of Fertilizer being used isnt used efficiently anyways and much of it evaporates or your soil cant even utilize what's applied.. No Till..
