  1. So I'll have a new puppy in the house mid June ish. It all happened by accident. Hopefully my boy Milo will be happy with the decision. He is 7 1/2 and still acts like a puppy himself

  4. One day a florist went to a barber for a haircut. After the cut, he asked about his bill, and the barber replied, 'I cannot accept money from you, I'm doing community service this week’ The florist was pleased and left the shop. When the barber went to open his shop the next morning, there was a 'thank you' card and a dozen roses waiting for him at his door. Later, a cop comes in for a haircut, and when he tries to pay his bill, the barber again replied, 'I cannot accept money from you, I'm doing community service this week.’ The cop was happy and left the shop. The next morning when the barber went to open up, there was a 'thank you' card and a dozen donuts waiting for him at his door. Then a politician came in for a haircut, and when he went to pay his bill, the barber again replied, 'I cannot accept money from you. I'm doing community service this week.’ The politician was very happy and left the shop. The next morning, when the barber went to open up, there were a dozen politicians lined up waiting for a free haircut. And that, my friends, illustrates the fundamental difference between the citizens of our country and the politicians who run it. As Ronald Reagan said: "Both politicians and diapers need to be changed often and for the same reason.”

  9. Do you like $4.50 gasoline? Do you like the restriction on illegals bringing fentanyl & gang culture into our country being lifted? Do you like having a Supreme Court justice who can't define what a woman is? And do you like slowly watching the plot by his own supporters to expose his son (and his) blatant corruption & bribe-taking while he was sworn to defend & protect our country? This imposter isn't going to last the year out, and his supporters a year ago are largely silent. The charade is almost over. I cannot wait to see how the left reacts after this November, they don't even have enough support to rig another election.

  10. Welfare programs . Having spent the last two months in several parts of Fla. I’ll say this their roads are way better both in pavement and number of lanes the lack of litter stood out too , there are wonderful state boat ramps on every lake , docks, paved parking ,bathrooms, separate kayak ramps and so on . We boated from lake to,lake through channels , that the state cleans out each year . NY non Resident fishing license is 50% more then the one I bought in Fla. which I bought on my phone in the boat , while in NY you have to print it . Beautiful county firehouses , new school buildings , oh the emergency room I went to ,I was in and out in about two hours , including ultra sound , two visits with the PA , discharge instructions etc . Here people lay in beds in hallways sometimes for a day or more … As soon as we got back here , pot holes galore , litter everywhere, rusty graffiti covered bridges , decaying buildings , oh and on pace for record shootings again in Roch. Oh and our NY lic. Plate pealed off the other day See what your sky high taxes gets you ? Me neither .

  13. I run the Falken wild peak at3w and have been very happy with their performance. When I was shopping I had it down to the Copper discoverers , General grabber at3 and of course the Falkens , the real world and pages and pages of various off road forum’s positive reviews on the Falkens is what sold me on them .

  14. Dealership tires suck. Most of the new vehicles we order now - mid 20K have to replace them. We use cooper often and they have been decent. Not familiar with the AT's though.

  15. I would compare your setup to someone wanting to hunt deer with a 9mm from a carbine. Will it do the job if the hunter is willing to strictly stay within its effective ranges and only take perfect shots? Absolutely, is there a hunter that would recommend it to another hunter? Not a chance! Your pattern is abysmal, your setup is awful! If I had a raccoon in the chicken coop and had the option of that setup or a shovel I’m probably grabbing the shovel but if you’re careful and have the self control it “will get the job done just fine.” Much like a 9mm carbine for deer. 17. You absolutely could not say that to any of us in person with a straight face IMHO - competent ? Clearly , Biden is the antithesis of that, and Harris is even worse . Hopefully , we can persist until Trump can win again in ‘24 - God help us ….

  22. Biden took something like $6,000,000 as an endorsement from China. He supposedly sent something close $900,000,000 to Ukraine in money and gear/provisions, yet the Ukraine hasn't seen a dime or any of the weapons or relief, so where did that go? His candy ass antics are making the whole country look like a bunch of sissies. The creature he put in the Supreme Court won't be helping any of us 2nd Amendment loving Americans. Biden cost thousands of lives in his seriously f'd up withdraw out of Afghanistan, not to mention leaving a ton of working weapons there for terrorists to use, what is a person who contributes to terrorism? Crime is on the rise again due to Left Wing morons not holding criminals accountable for their actions. Bidens usual response to crimes involving guns are more gun control bills instead of seeing it's not the tool it's the mechanic. Even some Left Wing news channels are starting to say Biden needs to go. I don't think any other POTUS has ever put this county in the state we're in, in the short amount of time it took for this country to be close to a very possible collapse. I already said this, every Democrat should be hiding in shame over voting this incompetent person into office. He's just like Hillary and would sell this country to the highest bidder, and it almost seems like that's exactly what he's trying to do. The US will not withstand three more years of this, anyone with even 1/4 of a brain can see that. You can try to argue, and ignore what's right in your face all you want, but ignoring or endorsing a problem only makes it worse.

  24. NY budget is to keep this dump of a state above water . Nothing gets fixed or replaced unless your a POS governor who wants to name a bridge after daddy. The roads are horrible all across the state but some how we have money to bring in refugees in droves. It would be nice if the people earning the money to support all the leaches could at least drive on roads that dont damage vehicles to do it.

  25. I’ve shot them with all kinds of guns but last year put together a dedicated turkey gun. It’s a 1187 special purpose 12 gauge I have ceracoted, add a code black choke and fiber optic sights. It patterns #6 long beards , I shot one turkey with it last spring and was really happy with it.

  28. Last week’s Meateater podcast episode again goes over this and is pretty interesting. Last summer, I needed more arrows and the ICS 340 Whiteouts I had were discontinued. After researching a bit, I got bit by the Ranch Fairy bug and went with a Sirius Vulcan 250 at 31” long with a stainless insert and 200 grain Grizzly Stik single bevels. Seeing the crazy penetration on my block target was intriguing to me. Do I need a 652 grain arrow? Definitely not. Was it fun creating a new setup that I have confidence in? Absolutely. I know bullet and arrow analogies are less than perfect, but, I think of it kind of like this: a .243, .30-06, and .45-70 all have their place in the deer woods. I don’t shoot past 35 or so yards, so the .45-70 of arrows is cool with me. Plus, it is darn quiet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  31. That's exactly why I'm not a fan of the extra full turkey choke that came with my savage 301. Even in a 20GA, a 3" shell in #4 is very tight at 15-25 yards. 35-40 is a lot better, but still fairly tight. I did make a shot at 50, and it was just about perfect, but I will not shoot at a turkey that far out. It's not a matter of confidence, it's a matter of not wanting to take that risk. With that choke, I found a standard 2 3/4" #6 is far better than the 3" load. The 320 with a full choke patterned fine from 15-35 with the 3" #4's. Both will get the job done if I've done my part and get the bird in my comfort zone. I didn't get to hunt turkey much last year. This year I'll have more time to get out, and have been scouting a little more, and trying to be a little smarter in my scouting. As I've said before, I could go out and roost a bird on a limb the night before opener, opening morning get out there only to find someone else already there. I'm not sleeping in my car, where the only time you're allowed to be there is during daylight hunting hours. Actually, 4 of the places I hunt are open from sunrise to sunset, so legally you're not supposed to be in there when the hunting hours start, but DEC doesn't really give anyone any crap for hunting the legal hunting hours.

  34. I do believe that #9 shot has very recently become legal in NY...However, I would be very surprised if it were to be offered in 16 gauge in the specialty TSS loads...20 gauge and .410 are hot right now.. 16 is "too much in the middle" and not many guns are being offered in 16 now.... Too bad.. It is an excellent upland gun and was a pretty damn good duck gun back when you could shoot lead... I currently have a Winchester M12 in 16 gauge that would flatten a gobbler every time at 35 yards ( full choke ) but I see no real reason to take it turkey hunting, since I have several 3" 12 gauge guns that will do the same thing at 45 yards...

  36. Hope you and the family recover quickly. I had whatever version of COVID there was in February 2021. Extreme fatigue for 2 weeks and gradually got better. My wife did not get it although we are always together. Only thing that I can tell you is that no one really knows everything there is to know about COVID. Best bet is to keep in good shape - exercise, good diet, vitamins, etc. and listen to your doctor for advice.

  38. Well it was pretty cold in the morning, had some rain first thing then it spit snow / rain a few times. We did dress warm but flying down the road 40+ was a bit chilly. I will say it was 90% blacktop , but we did ride a few limited seasonal use rds and that was fun as they still had enough snow on them to play . Came up to a side by side that had slid into a pretty deep water filled ditch and almost rolled. We rode about 60 some miles and honestly we wouldn’t go back, I would much rather ride trails . If you like to drink and socialize (there was lots of that going on) it would be up ones alley. I am glad we went though to at least experience it once . I will say we really liked the area and we’re definitely going back to ride the actual atv trails up there over the summer .
