Yes I did, and the fish won...

The first time I went fishing around the docks and shoreline near my sister's home, I hooked a fish on about my third cast on ( what else) a 1/8oz. brown hair jig. I got him close to shore and got a good a good look at him. It was about a 2 lb. spotted bass, a species which I had never caught, and still HAVEN'T, because he spit the hook !!

I fished 3 or 4 more times and neveer had another bite..I had a few bass make passes at my lures, but did not strike..

Finally, on the last evening, I resorted to bottom fishing for catfish with shrimp for bait..Couldn't catch any of THEM, either..
