no one told the deer it was to warm.... He came in chasing 5 doe which are walking past me on the ground at 40 yards tight now !

Here's the buck I was helping track last night ,we called off the search once he got to a water filled ditch . A couple buddies went back first thing in the morning and got right back on the trail. He made it to the open  field and circled back to where he was shot . We had treeguy on speaker phone while we were getting a plan together. He put us in touch with a guy went over the shot scenario with my buddy. I didn't tell him I was gonna or ask to post pictures so I'm gonna cover his face up .

Got some unfortunate news last night. The big buck that I was and everyone in the area was chasing was illegally shot October 7th with a rifle. The guy who shot it was the neighbor of my property. The guy didnt even take the body, just the head. He seriously pissed off all the hunters in the area as it was using the properties pretty regularly. I asked the guy if it was the deer that was shot and he said someone else shot it and it wasnt the deer I was talking about. At this point I dont think its worth calling the DEC as there isnt much they can do about it now that the coyotes have cleaned up the evidense, but there is a picture of him with the deer so I don't know what to do. The neighbor who told me didnt want to call the cops and caue drama, but he was ready to shot up at the guys door and handle buisness himself. The worst part is the guy who shot the deer, told me a week ago he was planning on buying a license and was going to rifle hunt this year. What a shame because the deer had to go 140 or better. The neighbor who showed me the pictures and told me everything said he was told that the guy who shot the deer is one of the most crooked hunters out there. Hes been busted doing some very bad things.

not sure those are udders, if it has the correct sex organs it is what it is.....pretty sure all male mammals have nipples.

I would call a LEO. They may not be able to do anything but what can it hurt? If he has already been busted and then the LEO's here about this incident maybe they will be keeping a watch on this Dirt Bag. That sucks, sorry to hear...

Im really thinking about doing it, but I dont think itll do any good. Im going to think about it some more and have another discussio with the neighbor who told me about it. If we find out he shoots a deer during rifle season, were calling the DEC. I don't know if he was bused by the law, but he was busted by other hunters doing what ever he was doing.

Id call the dec . Seems like lots of evidence . Plus they can get DNA off a hair at gut pile .

They asked me to give them some off an identical situation we had years ago .

Last time hunting deer for this year most likely. Slow year on public land.

2 does just wouldn't take 2 steps forward to clear thicket and drifted away, awesome clean red fox with no mange, and a coyote on way in and had a stand off. Had arrow knocked but couldn't get clear shot. Damn that would have been better then deer kill.

You should call. There are already a ton of these scumbags and unless people make an attempt to stop them it won't stop. It's like a saying I heard once. "There's a lot of assholes in the world because the rest of the people allow it" If you got proof do something about it.

I have to say based primarily on trail cam photos and our experience, what started as a very active mid-late Oct. has slowed considerably over the past week - just when we would expect things to go crazy.  Can't tell if we really had an early rut or whether things are still waiting to break loose.  Maybe its a bit of both.

      Hello everyone I’m currently looking at a house in deposit ny I’ve been deer hunting for many year mainly in Columbia and Greene county never been to Broome county. Before anything I was just curious how is the hunting there ? I know there aren’t any antlered restrictions in Broome but are there monsters out there or is it mainly just small spike?       What are the best steps carry a bow on your back?

      The procedure below to carry the bow is detailed below:
      You have to use a cotton towel or something similar. You have to wrap it around the bowstring. Doing so ensures that it will not cause an injury with the bowstring coming in contact with your body. It will not be that sharp either. Once you cover the bowstring with the towel, you have to wear it like a sling. So that it will not fall away from your body. The best way to cover the bowstring is to use a large enough towel. You can wrap it around twice as well. When making a sling out of the cotton towel, you have to ensure that you tighten it to get a snug fit. In that case, it will not slip away. Consequently, it will remain in place. When using this technique to carry a bow on your back, it is essential to practice before going in the wilderness. Only when you can move briskly and without noise using the scanning mechanism should you go ahead with it. To remove the bow, you have to hold it at the bottom. After that, you have to slip it over your head as well as arm. Doing so ensures that you can remove it quickly. When trying to focus on a prey, you need to remove the bow quickly. The technique for removal that we have highlighted above can certainly help you do so.

      A Hunter's Obligation to Know the Rules

      Just want to relay an experience I had this weekend regarding hunting regulations and other hunters.
      I've had several  hunter's tell me last weekend(10/12/2020) that muzzleloader was open, it is not. I also had two other hunters last weekend confront me as to why my son was carrying around a rifle and hunting deer. I calmly explained the youth weekend and the rules around it. After that everything was cool and we continued our hunt.
      I know at the end of the day we're all trying to participate in a sport we love and maybe harvest some game. My thought is to just make sure you're up on your local hunting regulations. Not just so you are within the rules, but also so you can assert your right to be where you are, hunting the way you're hunting.
      I know when I have been operating outside of the regulations I have appreciated a person respectfully correcting my ignorance and I try to pay it forward by being informed and respectfully educating when required.

      Bolt Action with Pistol Grip

      I am in the process of purchasing my first rifle to go hunting deer for the first time.  However, I have received contradicting information regarding the types of rifles that are legal.  Based on what I have read, it appears that I am able to use a bolt-action rifle with a pistol grip and a detachable magazine which holds 10 rounds.  However, I have been told that this is not the case. I can't seem to find where this is stated.  Can any one here provide me with some insight into this? I'd really appreciate it.
