LIVE From The Woods 2018 - Lets hear stories and see some pictures!

Well my grandson doesn't want to sit in near 0 degree weather in the morning. So guess I'll do a solo hunt for a doe. Not feeling that great. So probably be back home by noon or so. But I just gotta be out there!
I don't blame him......you tend to forget how cold it really feels after sitting for a few hrs. In temps below 20 degrees when we really don't have those extremely low temps 95% of the season.

Exciting hunt tonight.  Sat for two hours and saw a dozen deer including an 8pt that I would have taken if he gave me a better chance.  The wind didn’t do me any favors and at least six of those deer busted me.

Doe tags all filled, I’m buck hunting for the weekend.  Good luck to all.

Hunting partner sent a few pics from 3s across the street from his grandfather’s cemetery (the gentlemen who started the hunting tradition for him and subsequently me). The 8 and 4 were locked up pretty hard he said....it’s still/back on boys and girls

Hanging out with our only young neighbors tonight...  too much IPA and whisky.  Good luck to the early crew; I’ll be in the woods by 10.

I need new hunting partners .

I'd be proud to hunt with ya! Anyone up at this time, ready to hunt in the cold, this late in the season, has the hunters spirit! Good luck out there today!

I'm heading out now. Not really sure why. I guess it's just part of who I am. Season is coming to a close. And I have to wait a whole year to hunt these beautiful animals again.

Strained my Achilles tendon the other day supposed to stay off it  but I'm sitting here debating with myself if I should take a chance and mess it up more in the woods or just end my hunting season early.  :(

Head out until 8:30, when my babysitting duties start.  Hoping for the best in that short window.  Taking coffee to the woods for the first time ever.  Good luck to all going out, seems like a perfect morning.

It's hard I get that itching feeling to go anyway even if I have to limb out of the woods which happened to me the other day already it felt fine when I left the house and was killing me on the walk out of the woods. I better stay off it maybe tomorrow I will try again.

Hello to all my fellow bow hunters! Here's a question for you, if you had the chance to hunt and win $50,000, would you do it? Well your chance has come! It's the Bone Collector North American Whitetail Championship! The biggest and most exciting deer hunting tournament that's ever hit the whitetail woods! Here's how it works, throughout the USA and Canada, there's 14 different regions, New York, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey would be considered as Region 1, the bow hunter that harvests the largest P&Y scoring buck in he or she's region will qualify for a championship hunt in the land of Giants, (KANSAS) at Wicked Outfitters for a chance to win $50,000!!  You may ask, is there an entry fee? Yes, there is a $300 entry fee, but here's the cool part, when you sign up, the crew at the championship will send you a gear package in the mail with over $400 worth of hunting gear! You will also have your name put in for hunt give away drawings and product give a ways! How cool is that!? You might be thinking to yourself, I don't have a big enough buck to hunt that i can win anything with. NOT the case, if you harvest a buck and enter it into the tournament, you will be put in for another drawing for the Kansas HUNT! How do you sign up? Simply go to www.nawtc.com fill out the entry form that's required for you to sign up, and your ready to go! When your filling out the entry form, you will see where it says referral, type in our email address crossovertheriveroutdoors@gmail.com to let the guys at the championship know that your signing up through us! Watch the video below about the Bone Collector North American Whitetail Championship and enter today!  Last year I was blessed to be the region 1 winner of this great tournament, and i'm currently getting ready to head for Kansas for the championship hunt! I couldn't believe that God gave this opportunity to me! Maybe im jumpin the gun a bit quick but.....
As the 2019 deer season is coming fast and the live from the woods thread is going to light up like a christmas tree(better train this kid at work fast so i can follow up on all the deer porn)...The quickly approaching season has got new topics popping up and me getting antsy sooo......
Is there anyone with a new approach to this years season different from the past?
      Different preparations for the season,etc.
Accomplishment's/goals you are shooting for in the 2019 season?
      Shorter/longer sits etc.

      A few of mine..
1.Prep by shooting as much as possible
2.Spend as much time as i can in my "happy place"(always been my peaceful place)
3.Get my first mount done so i can hang it on the wall at the first house(bare spot!)
4.Get neccessary equipment for processing my own deer in the garage(needs a good cleanin before opening day!!)
5.See the smile on Jay's(turkeyfeathers) face with his first bow harvest!!!!
6.Be blessed and thankful to be able to spend time in the great outdoors.cherish every moment of the woods coming alive at day break(g/f doesnt understand it!!!)<<but im ok with that
This year has flew by and season will be here before we know it.This post is a bit early but im pumped and ready for some woods time!!!!
