It would be quite easy to forget this and then be in trouble and lose your pistols . I just looked at my paper work and see where I submitted it in 2018 . I have two more years before re-certifying .

They may or may not even send a letter, and then they say it’s your job to make sure you do it even if they don’t notify you. Setting people up to be in trouble.

Apparently not, I put on a couple of new ones recently and it did not count as an update.

Just tried to check mine. I tried once and it says I have exceeded the number of attempts to log in.

i have it on my calendar to renew inJanuary,  i would not expect a letter to remind as i am sure the state would rather you didnt remember and then lose your permit. Although from what ive heard most law enforcement doesnt agree with this either.  Its still a law.

NYS can’t mail out renewals for pistol permits,but they have no problem mailing out trailer renewals in October that don’t expire till 12-31

Hopefully the US Supreme Court will throw out the Sullivan Act next Spring and NY will replace it with something more "user friendly".
