  1. I was running a few errands and on my way home I saw her stuck at a sump close to my house. I ran home to get my bolt cutters and headed back to cut the chain. I wasn’t sure how long she was there but she seemed fine once I got her free.

  6. Having a great time on the cruise, something to do from the time you get up to bed time with countless shows and pool activities. There is always a buffet ready somewhere on the ship I think I've gained 5 pounds all ready. The Bahamas were beautiful with prestine beaches and beautiful blue waters. Once again our itinerary has changed with the presence of Hurricane Florence. We were supposed to arrive back at Baltimore harbor Thursday morning but now we're on our way to Port Canaveral Florida where we will stay overnight not returning to Baltimore now till Saturday night or Sunday. Our 5 night cruise has now turned into at least a 7 nighter. It has put a damper on are travel plans and some hunting preparations but there are far worse scenarios than spending an extra few days on a beautiful cruise ship. I will fill in the details on our return as they unfold whenever that may be. Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk

  7. This being the "season of plenty", I don't think you'll find many coyotes taking on adult size deer unless they're sick or injured. It's too risky for them right now to be targeting deer when there are so many other weaker critters on the menu that pose less a threat to becoming injured to hunt and take down. Contrary to popular belief amongst hunters, yotes will eat more than just deer, lol I've heard fruits, insects, vegetation, fish, and the occasional sissy hunter that gets lost in the woods after night fall! It's hard to find a carcass after deer season that hasn't already been found by yotes. I presume the majority of those were either unrecovered animals, or wounded from the season making them easy prey. Those prolonged winters with extreme weather that has taken a physical toll on the herd are the times I think we lose a good number of adults to predation. I've seen them catch and kill fawns as the doe looked on in the spring, and I've even seen one jump an adult buck and take chase before thinking twice and calling it off when he realized he may have bit off more than he could chew. I watched this yote using his nose and the wind to hunt down this bedded deer in the tall grass. I'm sure he was hoping to jump a fawn, but instead went hungry a little while longer that night.

I’ll never forget, today I’ll wear a FDNY memorial shirt, that only gets worn one day a year ,tonight I’ll watch the History channel as they play 102 Minutes that changed America , like I do every year . My wife will grumble that I watch it every year, and I’ll bite my tongue.

  10. Youre taking it the wrong way. It doesnt make villians out of people that set their own standards, quite the contrary actually. What it does mean is that people that force their personal standards upon other people, and ridicule them from not having the same standards, are the problem.

  11. I love crow hunting! My favorite weapon for that is my Benelli m2 but my new cynergy is gaining ground rapidly. But my true love is tracking in the big woods with a Remington pump in something 35caliber. Give me fresh snow some wool clothes and a Remington pump and I’m a very happy man! 12. In the last five years, my hunting buddy has had two deer partially eaten by coyotes, between the time he hit the deer with an arrow and recovery. About an hour and a half both times. ( wasn't positive of where he hit) The farthest one only went less than two hundred yards. Each hunting season, I find a couple of carcasses of deer eaten by coyotes. But they could easily have been wounded by hunters on bordering properties. Or hit by vehicles and limped off to die. I have never witnessed coyotes killing an adult deer, but have seen and heard them killing fawns in the spring. Also no doubt, that they feed on adult deer, during the deep snows of winter. There is also a place for predators in the wild, I fully understand that! But when their numbers become so numerous, and their prey, deer and small game, becomes almost non existent, like we saw on our own property a few short years ago. It's time to take out some coyotes! We shot on sight for a couple years, had a trapper come in, and we started calling them to hunt after deer season. (not easy) I have heard all the things about how shooting them brings more coyotes. I have found that to be false based on my observations, on my own property. We have also seen a dramatic increase in fawn survival, and with that, deer numbers here have climbed as well. Other small game is more numerous as well. We still do have coyotes. That's fine!!! I would never want them to disappear completely. They are beautiful animals that I have a huge respect for. As long as their numbers are kept in check. I also feel that there should be no closed season. JMO..............................

  13. Update: Old Landowners son (New owners brother) Stepped in after seeing how shady this deal went down and put a nix to the lease deal. From hearing a few things the new "lease guy" mentioned he was going to do with the proerty. He Told his sisters and the rest of the family as well as the man who tried leasing, that the family property will never ever be leased for as long as he is alive. Gave the guy permission to hunt, but to not interfere with how things work on the property and to have us go about the property as we always have! What great news. That made my season! The sisters returned the money he deposited(very little for a 110 acres lease).

  15. Not to hijack Larry's thread, but I have a funny story, told to me by a landowner whose property I hunted on up in Ontario.. This guy raises minature dacshunds.. He had an invisible fence, and one of his dogs was in the yard when a coyote came charging in, grabbed the weiner dog like a sausage and ran like hell...The dog had it's collar on and when the coyote hit the fence, both the dog and the yote got zapped ! The coyote dropped the weiner dog and ran like hell for the woods, and the dog, slightly injured but still mostly intact, ran like hell for the house ! True story....Hehehe...

  22. Though I truly enjoy ALL of the hunting seasons, with different weapons. Like 22lr, shotguns, rifles. Bow hunting is my true love.
    3 points
  23. Honestly, I like bow season, but with my fake arm, I literally hold the bow with the fake arm the entire time, becomes old after a few weeks, due to awkwardness. Once rifle time comes, its like a big ahhh, and much more comfortable, because at that point, I do not use a prosthetic arm. Sort of a different view point, lol...

  24. My wife and a couple friends went with me to watch a Real Time Pain Relief Velocity Tour bull riding event in Wilkes Barre over the weekend. My wife hates just about any sport there is, but she loves bull riding. This is one level below the PBR, where the riders try to score enough points to make it on, or back up to the top level. These events are family and patriotic oriented. At this event the crowd sang the national anthem. There is another event coming up in Rochester if anyone thinks they may be interested. They are very exciting and action packed. It's always nice to get out for a whole night with my wife. She puts up with a lot from me with going to the races every weekend all summer, then hunting season, then ice fishing. Hell, I am hardly ever home, and she knows she is always welcome to go with me and to bring friends, but would rather shop and ram around with the girls most of the time. That is why we were abundantly clear on how we spend our free time before we got married. She knew that it just isn't in me to sit around and relax very much, just like I knew she loves to lay around on the weekend til she is ready to do something.

  26. Congrats on the bear picture. I believe your tree damage was caused by a pileated woodpecker searching for insects. The damage has no claw marks I could see, was too high up the tree and the tree looked damaged by insects and dead.

  28. Did you receive Jesus to kill more deer Wolc? I assume the answer is no (it better be) so stop suggesting it as a reason to do so to others. YOU are missing the point, once again. No doubt God blesses but you sound like a prosperity preacher - hunting prosperity - suggesting that’s why one “gets right with God.” That is a false message. A conversation with God or your pastor may be helpful here. Sorry to the others for digressing. Just something that should be said on a subject I take very seriously. I am done preaching.

  29. Wolc From one Christian to another, I recognize Jesus as my lord and savior because I understand and accept the gift of eternal salvation He offers to all through His sacrifice on our behalf. One doesn’t make this decision and accept His gift to “make it a lot easier to send them Deer to Deer heaven” as you put it. Please reconsider whether you are accurately spreading the message of the Gospel. It’s a constant theme in your posts that I believe requires correction. I am not seeking to debate with you. Rather, I ask you to think about it. To suggest I or any Christian accepts Jesus as their savior to kill more or bigger deer sounds as ridiculous as it really is and cheapens the gift of God’s grace.

  31. TF I know you love that minus 10 degrees, 25 mph wind and snowing to beat all hell weather to gun hunt in. You may hate a nice 45 degree morning with the falling fall leaves with a rainbow full of colors, the activity in the fall woods as all the habitants hustle to prepare for the coming deep freeze, and for a couple weeks anyway deer acting naturally before they get scared poopless and actually move during the day a lot. It is not near as rewarding as shoveling a path to your stand through 3 feet of snow or trying to gut a deer before it freezes solid...… I think your gonna like it!!

The head and shoulders on one is just huge. Im still getting 3 does and 3 fawn on camera but NOTHING like usual. Small spike and a crotch too. NONE of the big deer we passed in last year. Amish just bought the 60 acres across the road. I cannot wait to see what happens now. Time will tell.

  48. Obama put this country in the toilet and it's hard for me to believe that wasn't the plan. Hillary was supposed to flush it. The money that props both of these losers up comes from billionaires and governments that hate America. All of this leftist whining, crying and lying about everything that's going on is propaganda designed to keep the leftist base on the attack against Trump. It's sedition, nothing less. We really dodged a bullet when we elected Trump. We need to re-elect Trump in 2020 to really make America great again.

  49. Took a cruise to the Bahamas years ago. Lots of food / drink on board. Shot skeet off the ship. Had fun but did have a “rough spot” (lol). It was freezing cold in our room. I got the brilliant idea to stuff a t-shirt in the vent to block the cold air flow into our room. Bad idea. It set off the fire alarm and several crew burst into our room to investigate. Problem was, the wife and I were in the shower playing. Oops!
